It is rather obvious that this is a seedling from Alain Blanchard. It is very similar, with its purplish blooms covered in pink spots. The blooms don't last very long, maybe only a couple of days per bloom, but there are many many blooms. The flowers are semi-double and close up at night, or if taken inside to a dark room. Not much fragrance. The bush is about 3 feet tall and 5 feet wide. It has typical dark green gallica foliage and dense, shrub like growth with upright, thin canes covered in tiny prickles. It is quite winter hardy and carefree. Here is another picture.
