Dainty Bess

Dainty Bess

Hybrid Tea - 1925

Dainty Bess came about in the 1920's when large, single blossoms on roses were in style. Of the many that were developed, Dainty Bess is one of the few that has withstood the test of time. She has beautiful pink five petaled blooms with somewhat ruffly edges and maroon stamens. Despite her delicate appearance, she is quite tough, being one of the most hardy hybrid teas in my garden. And she is not stingy with the blooms, but produces them constantly in sprays of 3 or 4. Her growth is tall and upright and her foliage is a dull green. She also is easy to propagate via cuttings.
