- The Dengeki Console Ranking Top 50 Chart is updated.
This week a total of 19 new games showed up in the top 50, and the sales are well spread
among most of the new titles. Nintendo's Super Mario Advance 2 and Super Smash Bros. DX
took the first and second places, Konami's Yugioh Duel Monsters 6 took the third place.
Other new game titles in top 10 include Crash Bandicoot 4, Tokimeki Memorial 3 and
Toruneko's Mysterious Dungeons 2 Advance.
- In Japan, the sales of the console systems have also sharply increased during the
holidays, during the week December 17-23, GameBoy Advance has sold 271,000 units,
PlayStation 2 has sold 247,000 units, and GameCube has sold 229,000 units. All three major
systems has surpassed the 200,000 mark.
D R E A M C A S T
- Sega Overworks has released new info for the Dreamcast dramatic adventure game Sakura
Taisen 4: Maiden falls in Love, the final chapter of the Sakura Taisen series.
This time the entire cast of characters from Sakura Taisen 1~3 will present in the game,
and the story advances to the "Grand Finale". Similar to Sakura Taisen 3, the
whole game will be in 3D, and the movie sequences will have a mixture of traditional
animated movies and CG cutscenes. Sakura Taisen 4: Maiden falls in Love is scheduled for a
March 2002 release in Japan.

- Sega of Japan has confirmed the delay of their XBox racing game Sega GT 2002,
originally scheduled for a March 2002 release, the game has been postponed without a new
release date. WOW Entertainment is planning to setup a play booth at the Tokyo
Auto Salon with Auto Asia 2002 in Tokyo's Makuhari Messe between January 11 - 13,
you can try out the game first hand at the show, and there is also a Sega GT Trial
Tournament at the show.
