- The Console Charts are updated.
- Sammy has officially announced Guilty Gear X2, the sequel of their
popular arcade weapon based fighting game. The game is scheduled for release in arcade in
Spring 2002. Due to the death of the voice actor for Zato, the game creator has also
decided to remove Zato from the new game as well, because he could not think of a
replacement voice actor for this character.
- UNCONFIRMED: Capcom is developing a new arcade 3D action game based on Dragon
Ball Z, this decision is probably made based on the popularity of the series in
North America, the game is said to be an action shooter similar to Mobile Suit Gundam:

- Sega WOW Entertainment announced that they have postponed the release date of the
XBox racing game Sega GT 2002 indefinitely, no specific reason is given.
The game was originally scheduled for a March 2002 release.
- Bunkasha Publishing announced that they will release the XBox racing game Double
S.T.E.A.L. in Japan on February 22, for 6800 yen. The game will have 2 or more
scenarios available, each scenario will have different playable vehicles, including
Patrol-1, Funny-Bug, Big-4WD, AUV, and Dragon-SPL. The first scenario takes place in
Kowloon of Hong Kong, in which you play as a criminal investigation team Flying Dragon, to
chase after and attempt to arrest the suspect cars in the town, there are 3 characters in
the team, including Madoka Faitsai, Meirin Yan, Commander Aaron Won; and the boss of the
criminal is Tiger Takagi.

- Namco has confirmed that they are also orting the arcade racing game Smashing
Drive to XBox, in addition to the GameCube version.

- At the Square Onine Party, Logicool announced a new PlayStation 2 controller called NetPlay
Controller, which integrates both the keyboard and dual shock 2 controller into a
single unit. NetPlay Controller is specially designed for Square's Final Fantasy XI, and
it will be released simultaneously with the game in March 2002. Square has also revealed
the PC version of Final Fantasy XI, which is basically the same with the PS2 version.

- Sony has postponed the release date of their PlayStation 2 RPG Wild Arms
Advanced 3rd from January 31 to March 14.
- Kid will release their first PlayStation 2 title The Perfect Insider
in Japan in March 2002, the game is scheduled for a March 2002 release, for 6800 yen.
