- The latest worldwide console shipment figures are released in Japan. Notes: there are no sales figure for Sega Dreamcast because Sega has exited the hardware market; Nintendo 64 is also considered as a "retired" system, no sale figures are released; and Nintendo GameCube was not launched in US and Europe by the end of September, so no figures are available:

- Bandai has revealed new info on the WonderSwan Color SRPG Arc The Lad: Resurrection of the Machine God, the game is being developed by Bandai and Sony. The main characters are Erk and Felia. Erk is the main character from Arc the Lad II and III, who is from the clan of flame; Felia is an original character, who is said to be the key character of the whole story, she also has a special relationship with Erk. The game is a side story of Arc The Lad, taking place 3 years after Arc the Lad III, the peace of the world has once again been ruined by a mystical force, and Erk begins his journey to gather his companions of the past to restore the peace to the land.

- Sony has officially announced the next installment of the Arc the Lad series for PlayStation 2, the title is Arc the Lad: Spirits of the Dead's Dusk, the game is scheduled for release sometimes in 2002. This time the game will be in complete 3D environment, the developer said the game will return to its root, more details will be available soon.

- Koei announced a new GameBoy Advance RPG called Houshin, scheduled for release in Japan in Spring 2002. The game is based on the ancient Chinese mythology, and this game will have linkup features with the GameCube version of Houshin, which is an action game. In the game you play as a hero named Sky, who is sent by the God to the human world to recover the stolen treasures, and defeat the monsters and devils that are infesting in the once peaceful human world. Sky discovered that the devils were attempting to synthesize the stolen treasures, and use the power to revive the evil queen Tengei, so that she can led the devil army corps to conquer the human world. The adventure will be full of mysteries, there will be tons of secrets in every area.....

- Koei announced their first GameCube title - Houshin, a new 3D action adventure based on the ancient Chinese mythology, this game will be able to linkup with the GameBoy Advance version of Houshin, both titles are scheduled for release in spring 2002. In this game you can use over 70 kinds of treasures and shinshu (magic) to defeat the enemies, you can equip up to 4 kinds of treasures, you can also use the treasures to cast shinshu magic when your skill level reached a certain degree. Some of the rare treasures are hidden somewhere in the world, or can only be obtained in special events, so you may need to do some treasure hunting to acquire the rare treasures and shinshus.....
