- Capcom announced Gun Survivor 3: Dino Crisis for PlayStation 2, the
3rd installment of their action gun shooting game. Instead of shooting zombies, this time
in Gun Survivor 3 you will battle with dinosaurs from the Dino Crisis series. Similar to
Gun Survivor 2: Biohazard Code Veronica, this game will have action, puzzle solving and
shooting elements, there are also new species of dinosaur, such as the Carnosaur (with 2 horns over its head). Gun
Survivor 3: Dino Crisis is scheduled for release in spring 2002, for both PlayStation 2
and System 246 arcade.

- Marvelous Entertainment announced that the GameBoy Advance version of SNK's fighting
game The King of Fighters EX: Neo Blood will feature an original
character named Moe Habana, an 18 year old girl who uses her family's ancient martial art
as her fighting style. This game will also adopt the striker system from KOF99, there will
be additional striker-only characters available in the game.

- Here are two new screen shots of Sega's XBox gun shooter The House of the
Dead 3, in a surprise move, Sega has adopted the cel-shading techniques in the
game, making it look more cartoony than scary. This time the story takes place in New
York, each stage will have multiple paths, up to 2 players is supported.
 
- The Console Charts are updated. Koei's Sangoku Musou 2
(Dynasty Warriors 3) has topped the chart for 5 consecutive weeks.
- SNK has released a press message about their closure:
Dear All NEOGEO fans/customers, It is with deepest grief that In the Autumn of
2001, SNK will close the company history in its business. It was all of your favor and
encouragement which made our passion running to make better games for SNK fans. We'd like
to take this opportunity to thank and everyone of you for your continuous help and
assistance rendered to SNK since its incorporation in Japan July in 1978. Without your
support, SNK Corporation would not have been possible throughout 23 years of operation.
With all our heart-felt gratitude, thank you once again !
- Due to the bankruptcy of SNK, their final arcade game The King of Fighters
2001 will be distributed by Sun Amusement in Japan in mid-November. The Korean
firm Eolith also mentioned that they will develop The King of Fighters 2002 for next year.
