- Square announced a new Square Masterpieces series for WonderSwan Color, the first game in the series is scheduled to release in Japan in December. This series contain remake of Square classic titles from GameBoy, SFC, FC and PlayStation. The first games in the series include Romancing Saga, Hanjuku Eiyuu, Dice de Chocobo, and Makaitoushi SaGa.

- Vivendi Universal Publishing announced that they will be publishing Interplay's console and PC software from now to the end of 2003. The first titles under this agreement will be Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and Giants: Citizen Kabuto for PlayStation 2.

- Banpresto announced that they will release the PlayStation 2 port of their arcade battle game Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation Vs Zion DX in Japan on December 6. The PS2 port will feature online battles via the KDDI matching system, up to 4 players can battle on one game. There are also new 1P Mission Mode, One on One and Two on Two team battle modes.

- UNCONFIRMED: Lightweight is planning to port their fighting game Kengo 2: Legacy of the Blade to PlayStation 2, after the XBox edition is released.

- Sony Computer Entertainment Europe announced that they are cutting the price of PlayStation 2 from £299 to £199, which is approximately from $441 US to $293 US. The new price will be effective of September 28.

- Here are some new screen shots of Eidos / Free Radical's PlayStation 2 first person shooter TimeSplitter 2. Scheduled to release in spring 2002, this sequel will now run at a constant 60 fps, and there are dozens of enhancements over the first version, such as optimized graphics, map creation mode, i-Link support, and dozens of new levels. - Sony announced that they will release the PS2 Hard Drive in North America in early 2002, the PS2 Ethernet / 56K Modem combo adapter will be released in early November, for $40, which includes a PS2 version of the Netscape Navigator, with built-in instant messaging service, streaming audio and video capabilities from AOL, Macromedia and Real Networks.

- Nintendo of Japan announced that they will release the Jet Black and Spice Orange versions of GameCube on November 21, for 25000 yen.
