- Banpresto will release Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation Vs Zion DX in arcade by the end of September, an upgrade to the highly popular arcade action game. This time the game will feature 5 new stages which takes place in different war zones in the space. Since the new stages are in the space, the jump button will function as moving your unit up and down. There are also several other new enhancements, including new battle commands like inspect your team's status; and at least 3 new mechs in the game.

- Here are some new images of Namco's System 246 arcade tennis game Smash Court Professional Tournament, featuring motion capture animation and realistic graphics like Sega's Virtua Tennis.

- Bay Shore Midnight is Namco's latest arcade racing game, based on the manga of the same time. This game features a Life Gauge Battle system, when your car collides with other cars or walls, the life gauge decreases, you can defeat the rival when his / her life gauge reaches 0.

- Knockdown 2001 is a unique arcade "punch power measurement" game, where you have to punch as hard as you can to the punching sandbag. There are 3 courses in the game: Indiscrimination, Light and Woman.

- Sony will release a new anime adventure game for PlayStation 2 in Japan in December called Surveillance. This game features a new Production I.G. system, in which you have to monitor 6 video clips simultaneously. In this game you play as the leader of the special force Shadow Sword in the year of 2053, to protect people against attacks from outer space. During the quest you have to use the Surveillance System to monitor 6 displays at the same time, and you are freely to zoom into any of the monitor, and order your team mate to investigate matters and attack the enemies.

- Namco announced that they will be releasing a fan disc for PlayStation's "Tales of" RPG series, called Tales of Fandom. Tales of Fandom Vol. 1 is scheduled to release in Japan this winter, featuring a puzzle game and an adventure game based on the series. There is also a Gallery Mode which contain illustration and unused images from the series.

- Atlus has released new details of their upcoming PlayStation 2 dramatic RPG Growlanser III, scheduled to release in Japan this winter. This time the story takes place 1000 years before the story in Growlanser 1 in the land of Kishironia. Growlanser III adopted the "over used" automatic dungeon generation system, where the layout of the dungeon is random generated everytime when you enter into a dungeon. You can see the monsters wandering in the dungeons, it is possible to evade battles by running away from them.....

- Konami has moved up the release date of the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty from December 13 to November 29. In other news, Konami said they are considering to removing scenes from Metal Gear Solid 2 that show the New York City skyline, including World Trade Center.

- Update on Enix's first GameBoy Advance title Snapkid, this is a snap shooter RPG game. In this game you play as a young kid named Soda, your goal is to become the Snap Leader (champion) in the yearly Snap Grand Prix.  During the quest you can use a special light gun Snap Shooter to capture the Wonder (the general name of animals / monsters in the game) and turn them into cards. Similar to Pokemon, sometimes you must battle a Wonder to weaken it before you can use the Snap Shooter on it, and you can use your cards to battle the Wonders and your rivals. You have 3 best friends in the game: Merline, Sun and Kor, and there are over 100 kinds of Wonder in the game. One of the interesting twist in the game is that the main character Soda is a kid who doesn't like Wonders, so how do you change his attitude toward Wonders and become a Snap Leader?

- Here are some screen shots of Capcom's GameBoy Color survival horror adventure game Resident Evil Gaiden, developed by Brit developer M4, the story center around Barry Burton from Resident Evil 1, your mission is to locate and destroy the dreaded source of all the undead creatures, the B.O.W. - Capcom announced that only the first game in the Biohazard / Resident Evil series will receive a full remake, the rest of the series: Biohazard 2, Biohazard 3: Last Escape and Biohazard Code: Veronica will be straight ports of the original versions with improved graphics, but not remakes. The reason is that it will take too much time to remake the whole series and significantly delay the development of Biohazard 0 and Biohazard 4.

- RUMOR: Capcom is planning to release Capcom Vs SNK 3 for both GameCube and XBox in Japan early next spring. (From GameSpot)
