- Here are some new screen shots of Bandai's WonderSwan Color fighting game Digimon
Tamers: Battle Spirit, scheduled to release in Japan on October 6, for 4200 yen.
Unlike other fighting games, in Digimon Battle Spirit you win by collecting as many energy
crystals as possible before the time runs out. You can knock energy crystals out of
enemies by attacking them with special attacks. Each Digimon can also transform into a
Mega-Digimon within a time limit, when and how to use the Mega-form will be the key to win
the matches.

Vs Capcom Clash Card Fighter 2: Expand Edition. The game is released in Japan on
September 13, for 4500 yen.

- Here are some new screens of Sammy's WonderSwan Color fighting game Guilty
Gear Petit 2, scheduled to release in Japan on September 27, for 4800 yen. The
game features 13 initially playable characters, and the ability to linkup with the
PlayStation 2 version of Guilty Gear X Plus, using a simple password system (not the
WonderWave reported earlier).

- Sega Sonic Team announced that the GameCube version of Sonic Adventure 2
will be able to linkup with Sonic Advance for GameBoy Advance. You can
breed the little creatures Chaos in the mini game Chaos Garden in Sonic Advance, and you
can also unlock the hidden racing game Chaos Race in the GameCube version of Sonic
Adventure 2.
- MediaKite announced Daisenryaku for GameBoy Advance, a popular war
strategy game ported over from PC, featuring over 40 scenarios, and you can choose to play
the rule of the 7 countries, including Britain, US and Germany. The GBA port will also
correspond to the Mobile System GB, allowing you to download new scenarios and updates
from cellular phones. Daisenryaku is scheduled for release on December 7, for 4980 yen.

- Early launch of Nintendo GameCube in Asia! Although the GameCube is
set to launch in Japan on September 14, but you can already get your hands on a GameCube
in import stores in several Asian cities on September 12, 2 days ahead of the official
launch. Such cities include Taipei and Hong Kong.

- TV Tokyo will be showing a new TV anime Final Fantasy Unlimited in
Japan starting on October 2, a sci-fi adventure anime cartoon which takes place in an

characters Kaze and Lisa as they search for the enemies who have destroyed Kaze's

- Sega Sonic Team announced a PC port of their popular Dreamcast online RPG Phantasy
Star Online, the PC version will run on Windows 98 / Me / 2000 and XP. Phantasy
Star Online for PC will base on PSO Ver 2.0 for Dreamcast, with enhanced 3D graphics such
as light source, and Pentium 4 SSE2 support. The polygon count for the PC version will be
4 times the number used in the Dreamcast version. You can also choose from 6 different
languages in the PC version: Japanese, English, French, German, Spanish and Korean. A
playable demo will be demonstrated at the upcoming World PC Expo in Makuhari Messe on
September 19.

- The Korean firm Ecolith mentioned that they will NOT be showing The King of
Fighters 2001 at the upcoming JAMMA Show, instead they will release full details
of the game in their website on September 28.

- Sega has released two new screen shots of the PlayStation 2 version of Ecco
the Dolphin earlier at the ECTS show in Europe. (From IGNPS2)
 
- Namco announced that they have temporary suspended the airing of the Ace
Combat 04: Shattered Skies TV commercials, in respect to the U.S. tragedies. They
felt it is not the appropriate time to show the Ace Combat 04 TVCM, as it features air
combat of planes and plane blasting off buildings on the ground. Despite of the suspension
of the TVCM, Namco announced that they have shipped 300,000 copies of Ace Combat 4 for
PlayStation 2 in Japan.
- D3 Publisher will release Simple 1500 Series Vol. 76 The Dodgeball
for PlayStation in Japan on October 25, for 1500 yen. One of the few dodgeball game
available on PlayStation, this game allows you to execute a variety of special attacks
with your dodgeball, just like Technos Japan's classic NES Dodgeball game.

- D3 Publisher will also release a new PlayStation 2 tennis game in Japan on November
22, called Love Smash: Super Tennis Players.

- Square EA announced that they will release the US version of Final Fantasy X
for PS2 in January 2002.
- DigiCube will release a new series of low priced PlayStation games in Japan called
the Nice Price series, each game will be brand new, and retail for 2200
