- Victor Interactive announced that they will release a new movie database software for
PlayStation 2 called Cinema Serving, which contain over 30,000 Japanese
and foreign (US and Euro) movie data, including movie outline, producers, actors and
images. Other than movies, Cinema Serving will also a database with 3,500 DVD videos.
Cinema Serving will be released in Japan on November 22, for 4800 yen.
- Namco announced that they will release the PlayStation 2 version of Namco / WOW
Entertainment's gun shooting game Vampire Night in Japan on December 6,
for 6800 yen. The PS2 version will have a new mission based Original Mode, in which you
will try to fulfill the requests from the villagers, if you successfully complete the
mission, you will receive bonus items. There is also a Training Mode for beginners.

- Sony announced a price drop for PSone in Japan. The retail price of PSone will reduce
to 9,980 yen starting on October 12, and on the same date, Sony will release the long
awaited PSone LCD monitor SCPH-130, which has a 5" TFT LCD
display, and a 1.0W stereo speaker, the retail price is 14800 yen. There is a set of AV
input at the back of the monitor, for you to hookup other entertainment devices to the
PSone like DVD player, digital camera or video camera. On November 22, Sony will release SCPH-140,
a new two-in-one PSone + LCD monitor combo, which will be sold in open price. An optional
PSone cigarette adaptor for cars SCPH-170 will be released shortly after
the release of the LCD monitor.

- To promote the PSone LCD mode, Sony will re-release a series of classic PlayStation
games which is classified as "easy & friendly". These games will be released
under a new series called PSone Books, and the retail price will be
between 1800 yen to 2200 yen. Here are the games:

- Here are some new screen shots of the PlayStation 2 version of Capcom / Namco's Gun
Survivor 2: Biohazard Code Veronica, the game will support Namco's USB lightgun
controller GunCon 2. The PS2 version will have an original mode called Dungeon Mode,
featuring a series of all new missions and stages, such as "defeat the boss &
escape", "defeat all enemies", and "collect all jewels in the
stage". The game is scheduled to release in Japan in November for 6800 yen, a GunCon
2 bundle pack will release on the same date for 9800 yen.

- Banpresto is porting Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation Vs Zion to
PlayStation 2, an arcade action fighting game co-developed by Banpresto and Capcom. The
PS2 port will be coming out in Japan in November. A Dreamcast port of the game is also
scheduled to release in Japan around the same time.

- UNCONFIRMED: Although Capcom is reducing the efforts on arcade games, but that
doesn't prevent them from making new titles. Capcom will release 3 new arcade games by the
end of March 2002. First is a new VS series fighting game (e.g. Marvel Vs Capcom, Capcom
Vs SNK), the second is a new 3D fighting game on the System 246 system, and third is Mobile
Suit Gundam: Federation Vs Zion DX, an upgrade to their popular Gundam action
game, which is scheduled to release in arcade this month.
- Sega has announced the release date of their new arcade games, including a definite
release date for the long awaited Virtual On Force and a few brand new
titles:
- September 27 - Walk the Dog
- October 17 - Power Smash 2 / Virtua Tennis 2
- October 22 - Virtual On Force
- October 30 - Derby Owners Club 2
- TBA - Initial D Arcade Stage (based on the manga series Initial D)
- TBA - La Keyboard Due (a new keyboarding game)

D R E A M C A S T
- Sega AM2 will release the Dreamcast online flight combat game Propeller Arena
in Japan on October 4, for 5800 yen. The game supports up to 6 players online, and up to 4
players offline.
H A N D H E L D S
- UNCONFIRMED: Capcom's GameBoy Advance port of Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper
will feature 3 new characters from Capcom Vs SNK 2: Millionaire Fighting 2001,
they are Yun (from SF3), Maki (from Final Fight 2) and Eagle (from SF1).
