- Konami KCEJ announced that the total shipment of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of
Liberty has reached 5 millions worldwide. The company's achievement forecast has
also increased by 4.3% from 8.63 billion yen to 9 billion yen for the fiscal year.
- Enterbrain announced a new PlayStation 2 sports/puzzle game called Coloball
2002, the game is defined as a desktop sport "Colosseumball", in which
two teams to compete in the field, you score when you blow down the enemy unit in the
hexagon panel on the surface.
- UNCONFIRMED: Sega is planning to release a PlayStation 2 version of classic
arcade gun shooter Virtua Cop 1 & 2 in August, the two titles will be
sold as a single package.
- Access Inc. announced they have developed a PS2 middleware in cooperation with
Square, for developing PlayOnline compatible network software for PlayStation 2. Access
has previously worked with Sega to develop the Dream Passport software for Dreamcast,
using its own NetFront communication software. A demonstration of the middleware will be
exhibited in Japan at the Shin-Yokohama Prince Hotel on April 10 - 11, in the IT Embedded
Forum 2002.
- RUMOR: A possible PlayStation 2 price drop maybe taking place soon, as Sony is
developing a more compact and cost efficient processor which combines both the Emotion
Engine and Graphic Synthesize into a single 0.13 micron chip. This time both Microsoft and
Nintendo are watching closely to the PS2 price adjustment, Microsoft is expected to follow
with an XBox price drop immediately, while Nintendo is planning to reduce its GameCube
retail price depending on the amount of reduction Sony introduces.
- Alfa System / Taito will port the arcade shooter Shikigami No Shiro
to PlayStation 2, scheduled to release in Japan on June 27, for 5800 yen. The PS2 version
will have additional elements not found in the XBox version, including side story for each
playable character, Replay Mode, Illustration Gallery and Practice Mode.

- Banpresto announced they have sold over 500,000 units of their PlayStation 2 SRPG Super
Robot Taisen Impact.
- THQ will release Summoner 2 for
PlayStation 2 in US this fall, developed by Volition, this time the game will have 8
playable characters, and now you can transform during the battle.

- Sega Overworks mentioned that the GameCube port of the Dreamcast RPG Eternal
Arcadia (Skies of Arcadia) will be released in Japan by the end of the this year, and
a PlayStation 2 port of the game has been postponed until March 2003. Both versions are
expected to include various enhancements not found in the original version.

- Panther Software announced that they have moved the destination platform of their
Love Simulation RPG Braveknight: Lieveland Avenue
from Dreamcast to XBox. The game will be released in Japan by the end of the year.

- Microsoft announced that Bungie's XBox launch title Halo: Combat Evolved
has sold over 1 million units in North America, making this one of the best selling XBox
titles available.

- Here are some screen shots of Konami's GameBoy Advance action adventure game Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, this time
the game will have a new Spell Fusion system, which allows you to add various magic
effects to your weapon with the magic books. Similarly, the subweapons that you acquire
from the stage can be combined with other weapons to increase the attack power. The size
of some boss characters will be very massive such that it will take up the entire screen.
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance is scheduled for release in Japan in June.
