- Konami will release a new 3D action battle game Rave Groove Adventure:
Fighting Live for GameCube in Japan on March 20, for 6800 yen. The game features
3 game modes: Story, VS (up to 4 players), and Free Battle. There are 8 playable
characters, each character can equip different kinds of weapon and perform 3 - 4 different
special attacks. You can also use the Rave Stones and DB Stones to powerup your attacks
and recover strength.

- Bandai has announced the release date of their PlayStation 2 war simulation RPG Mobile
Suit Gundam: Giren's Ambition - Independence Wars, the game is scheduled for
release on May 2, for 6800 yen.
- Koei will release the PlayStation 2 port of the war simulation game Nobunaga's
Ambition: Ranseiki in Japan on April 4, for 9800 yen. The game will be identical
to the XBox version, which was released on February 22. The PS2 version also supports the
HDD, the game data will be copied into the hard drive to reduce the number of disc access.

- Iwata Denki announced that they will be releasing a new GT-Simulator controller
for PlayStation 2, for 29800 yen. The GT-Simulator is specially designed for racing game
fans, it comes with a force feedback racing wheel, pedal and a L-size bucket seat (which
is used in real racing vehicles); the pedal position can be adjusted.

- Metroworks mentioned that Capcom's newly released PS2 action adventure game Onimusha
2 is produced with their popular development tool CodeWarrior for PlayStation
2 Japanese Version 3.0.
- Working Designs is planning to release the US version of Atlus' PS2 RPG Growlancer
II: The Sense of Justice sometimes this year.
- Square has revealed more details on the Final Fantasy XI fee schedule. The
monthly fee for the game is set to 1280 yen, if the user want to use more than one
character in the game, each additional character will cost an additional fee of 100 yen a
month. The payments can be made by major credit cards and WebMoney, which can be purchased
from the Internet or convenience stories across Japan. Final Fantasy XI is scheduled for
release in Japan on May 16, for 7800 yen.
- Rage Software is working on a PS2 third person action shooter called Twin
Caliber, which features an innovative control mechanism, you can control two
weapons simultaneously with the two Dual Shock 2 analog sticks. Your enemies include
zombies, giant spiders, culties, demons, slugs and decapitated train drivers. The game is
scheduled for release in Europe this winter.

- The Korean firm GamePark announced that the two Japanese developers Generation-X and
Arc System Works have joined the development of GP32 titles. Generation-X will be
releasing a GP32 version of Princess Maker 2, Arc System Works will be
releasing a GP32 port of Guilty Gear. In addition, there are several
other game titles under development for the Korean handheld system, including:
- The King of Fighters GP32
- Breath of Fire III
- Fire Pro Wrestling
- Street Fighter Zero 3
- Rockman X5
- Hello Kitty Tetris
- Raylight Studios has announced a new 3D Engine for GameBoy Advance called Blue
Roses, which is capable of displaying an average of more than 3000 polygons per
second with a 60% screen coverage, motion capture animation, camera animation, skeletal
animation, affine texture mapping, morphing, transparency, fog and lighting effects are
also supported in the 3D engine. Raylight Studios has also demonstrated the technology
with several of its works.

- In addition to the demos, Raylight Studios has also announced 3 GameBoy Advance games
which utilize the 3D engine. Wings is a GameBoy Advance 3D flight
shooting game in which you play as a rookie pilot, to battle their way up the ranks in
over 200 increasingly challenging missions. Wings is scheduled for a Q2 2002 release in
Europe.

GameBoy Advance, featuring over 42 race course, 8 playable vehicles, up to 4 players are

- Star Giants is the third GameBoy Advance game from Raylight Studios
which features the 3D Engine. Star Giants is a 3D space combat simulator, featuring a
multipath story, the story changes according to what the users accomplished.

- Konami announced that their arcade motion sensing boxing game Mocap Boxing
has received a Gold Prize in the Sales Achievement Award in the AM Equipment Exhibition
ASI2002 (Amusement Showcase International 2002). This is the 3rd consecutive years Konami
has received the Sales Achievement Award, the last two years the gun shooting game Silent
Scope and Silent Scope 2 had won the prizes.
- The International Game Developers Association (IGDA) announced that Yugi Naka, the
CEO of Sea Sonic Team will receive a lifetime achievement award on March 21 at the Game
Developer Conference, for the game titles he has produced in his career. Yugi Naka's
popular works include the Sonic The Hedgehog series, Phantasy Star Online, NiGHTs and the
Samba de Amigo series.

- Sega Overworks has released some new movies of their upcoming Dreamcast adventure +
simulation game Sakura Taisen 4: Maidens fall in Love, the game is
scheduled for release in Japan on March 21, for 6800 yen; a Limited Edition will retail
for 8800 yen.
