- Atlus has released info on their first XBox RPG Shin Megami Tensei Nine,
this time the game takes place in the year of 202X, where the nuclear wars has created
unrepairable damages to the world, the remaining human were all moved to underground
cities. The underground cities are integrated with computer generated matrix, one day a
computer bug occured in the city of Tokyo, and the bug started to appear in the form of
devils. The theme of the game is the paradox of Law and Chaos. In the game the human world
is represented in 2D, while the computer matrix is in 3D. You can customize the appearance
of the main character before the game begins. In the computer matrix, battles begins as
you encounter enemies, you can use both human and devils to battle against the enemies,
the battles are in semi-real time, both parties will begin their actions at the same time.
Timing is critical in the battles. You can place multiple teams of character in the
computer matrix, all the teams may battle simultaneously when they encounter enemies. This
game have network support, multiple players can join the same game over the internet.

- Namco announced the release date of the home version of Soul Calibur 2,
the game is scheduled for release in Japan in August. In addition to the PS2, GameCube and
XBox version, there will be a GameBoy Advance version of Soul Calibur 2
as well, the GBA port will have linkup capabilities with the GameCube version.
- Namco has updated their game release schedule, Ridge Racer 6
(tentative name) is scheduled to release for all platforms in Japan in November; Tales
of Destiny II (tentative name) for PlayStation 2 is scheduled for release by the
end of the year; another new game is Seven II (tentative name), the
sequel of Namco's PS2 online RPG Project Venus; Tekken Advance 2 is under
development for GameBoy Advance, the game is scheduled for release sometimes in May; and
GameBoy Advance will receive a port of the popular PlayStation RPG Tales of
Eternia.
- Konami has postponed the release date of their PS2 RPG Suikoden III
from March to July.
- Konami has released new details on their GameBoy Advance adventure game Castlevania:
White Night Concerto. The game was originally announced for PS2, but now the
project has been moved to GBA. The game takes place in 1740, where you play as a new hero
named Jeust Belmont, to battle with Count Dracula. Jeust inherited the blood of the
Belmont and Belnades families; he will be joined by his good friends Maxim Quicin, and
Liddy Erlanger. The gameplay will remain faithful to Castlevania: Circle of the Moon.
Castlevania: White Night Concerto is scheduled for release in Japan on June 6.

- Sony announced that the pre-sales of the PS2 HDD at the Japan PlayStation.Com website will end on February 22. The PS2 HDD will be available for sale at retailers and PS2 Internet Service Providers starting in April.
- SCEE (Sony Computer Entertainment Europe) announced tha they will release a new PlayStation 2 + Metal Gear Solid 2 bundle pack in Europe on March 8. The Euro version of MGS2 will feature 3 new play modes not found in the Japanese and US version, which includes an Extreme Difficulty level, Casting Theatre Mode and Boss Survival Battle. Only 350,000 units of the PS2 + MGS2 bundle will be produced and distributed in the European areas.
- Idea Factory will release the PS2 Simulation RPG Generation of Chaos Next: Lost Bonds in Japan on April 25, for 6800 yen.
- Studio Skip announced that a new GameCube RPG is under development, Kenichi Nishi is the leading producer of the project, who produced Nintendo's Super Mario RPG 2 (Paper Mario in US) for Nintendo 64. The game is scheduled for release by the end of the year.
- Media Ring has delayed the release of their GameBoy Advance RPG Lunar Legends in Japan by one month from March 15 to April 12.
- Konami has announced their AOU Expo game lineup, they will be showing the following arcade titles:
- Dog Station - a dog training and breeding simulation game.
- Mahjong Kakuto Kurabu - a new arcade mahjong game with familiar characters.
- Martial Beat - a new arcade martial art / fitness game in which you perform a variety of martial art moves. The game is also coming to PSone.
- Xtrial Racing - a new arcade racing game.
- DDR MAX 2 - the latest installment of the never ending Bemani dancing game.
