- The Dengeki Console Chart is updated, this week's big
three titles are: Sega's Virtua Fighter 4, sold over 337,000 units;
GameArts / Enix's Grandia Xtreme, sold over 153,000 units; and Square's Final Fantasy X:
International, sold over 115,000 units.

- Softbank is planning to release a Weekly Xenosaga magazine in Japan on February 28, the first issue will come with a Xenosaga mousepad, interviews with development staffs and radio voice actors. The future issues will feature hints and tips on the game, reader contributions, developer interviews and info on the future installment of Xenosaga.
- Gust announced a new sequel to their popular Alchemy RPG series, Atelier Judie:
The Alchemist of Guramnat is heading to PlayStation 2 in May, for 6800 yen. The story
takes place in Guramnat, which is located in the east of Salburg. This time the game
involves time travelling, the main character Judie (Judith Fortone) is a 16 year old
apprentice alchemist, one day she has failed on an alchemy job, an explosion causes her to
travel to 200 years in the future, a time between Atelier Lilie and Atelier Marie. In
order to return to her former world, she must search for a certain item produced by
alchemy. The game will have an increase number of events, and fewer number of possible
endings. Atelier Judie is currently 60% completed, and Jun Futaba will be responsible for
the character designs.

- Capcom announced that they have shipped 2 million units of Onimusha worldwide by February 7.
Capcom has shipped 1.1 million units of Onimusha in Japan, 620,000 units in North America and 290,000 units in Europe. Capcom expects to have a marvelous sales for Onimusha 2 when it is released in March.
- Koei is developing a new PS2 online RPG based on Romancing of Three Kingdoms.

- Square has announced the release date of their next two WonderSwan Color Masterpieces Series, Makaitoushi SaGa (known as Final Fantasy Legend in US) is scheduled for a March 20 release, and Final Fantasy IV is scheduled for release on March 28, for 5200 yen

- Konami announced that they will release Yugioh Duel Monsters for both GameBoy Advance and PlayStation in US sometimes in March, the TV cartoon series have received high audience rating since the series launched last September.
- According to arcade reports from Japan, Sega's Virtua Fighter 4 has been the most popular arcade fighting game since its release last summer. On an average day, each VF4 arcade cabinet generates 90,000 yen of sales, comparing to 25,000 yen for Tekken 4; 10,000 for both Capcom Vs SNK 2 and The King of Fighters 2001. However, none of these games compare to Sega's multiplayer horse racing simulation game Derby Owner Club 2001, which generate an average of 200,000 yen a day!
