- Activision will release Spider-Man for PlayStaiton 2 in US this May.
The game is based on the upcoming Spider-Man movie from Sony Pictures. The game will
feature a new aerial combat mode, in which the battles take place on top of buildings in
the streets of New York.

- RUMOR: Capcom is planning to turn Devil May Cry into a PlayStation 2 exclusive title,
they are developing the sequel - Devil May Cry 2 for PS2, which is scheduled for release
by the end of the year in Japan.
- Here are some new screen shots of Sega AM2's PlayStation 2 fighting game Virtua
Fighter 4. The game will have 5 play modes: Arcade, Versus, Training, Kumite
(Survival) and Replay. In the Kumite mode, there is a VF.Net type of feature, which allows
you to collect special items to add to the appearance of your character, you can save the
custom character to memory card and use it to battle a friend.

- Bloomberg reported that Square's president Yoichi Wada commented that Nintendo
GameCube is ease of game development. Analyst predicts that Nintendo GameCube could gain a
larger market share than Nintendo 64, by 2005 GameCube can acquire 30% of the market in
Japan, PlayStation 2 will have roughly 60% and the remainder will be shared by other
platforms (this does not include handheld game market).

- Here are some new screens of Overworks / Red Company's Dreamcast adventure game Sakura
Taisen 4: Maidens fall in Love, scheduled for release in Japan on March 21, for
6800 yen. This time the story background will move back to Japan, there will be 13
playable characters, and 2 hours of anime movie sequences throughout the game. The
developer mentioned that the degree of trust amongst the characters is still an important
element in the game, you will get more out of the game if you stick with one character
(your favorite).

- Sega announced Guru Guru Onsen 3 for Dreamcast, the 3rd installment
of their popular online theme park, this game includes a variety of recreational games,
include Reversi, Flower Cards, Mahjong, Cards, and Monopoly. This title also correspond to
Sega's Open Dice, so it is possible to play the online games with users from Guru Guru
Onsen 2 and Sakura Taisen Online. Guru Guru Onsen 3 is scheduled for release in Japan on
March 14, for 4800 yen, the game will have keyboard, broadband and VGA Box support.

- It is reported that the videogame sales on December last year have reached 90 billion
yen in Japan, which is increased by 41% from previous year's 44.6 billion yen. Sales of
game systems have increased by 3.5 times from previous year, Sony has sold approximately
860,000 units of PlayStation 2 during December, while NIntendo sold 680,000 units of
GameBoy Advance and 490,000 units of GameCube in the same period.
- Acclaim is working on a new action platform game called Vexx, the
story takes place in the planet Astara, you play as a young hero named Vexx, who wears a
pair of Astani Battlegauntlets in his arms which enable him to perform various actions
such as glide, climb, power swim and annihilate enemies with thunderous ground pounds.
Vexx will have 18 levels, the landscape and the characters changes between day and night
times.

- Acclaim has released new images of Turok Evolution for PlayStation
2, the latest sequel to their popular N64 first person shooter. Unlike the previous
installments, this time the game takes place in the futuristic and alien lands where
aliens and dinosaurs coexist. Players can run, jump, climb, swim, or use stealth
throughout the game, there are also flight sequences which enable players to soar through
the skies on a winged Pteranodon. Turok Evolution is scheduled for release in September.
