- Nintendo's Pokemon Center New York has announced a New Year Present Campaign, the company will give away 3 Golden Pokemon Edition of GameBoy Advance on January 31. Those who make a purchase at the Pokemon Central Online website will be able to enter the lucky draw to win the Golden Pokemon GameBoy Advance (3 sets), Pokemon Dinner Set (5 sets) and Toy Set (5 sets).

- Microsoft announced that they have shipped 1.5 million units of XBox console by the end of December 2001, and over 1.3 millions units were sold during the year. Microsoft expects to ship 4.5 - 6 million units of XBox by the end of the 2002 fiscal year.

- Sony Computer Entertainment America announced that they have sold 3 million units of PlayStation 2 during the last two months of 2001, over 988,700 units were sold in November, and over 2 million units were sold in December. The PS2 installed based has reached 8 millions units in North America. Sony Computer Entertainment Japan have also sold 2 million units in the same period. The worldwide shipment of PlayStation 2 have reached 20 millions.

- Tecmo is planning to release the horror adventure game Zero in North America sometimes this spring, under a new name Fatal Frame.
