- Here are the Top 10 Best Selling Console titles for 2001fiscal year (from April 1 to December 9), six of the top 10 titles are PlayStation 2 game titles:

- Nintendo announced that they will release the classic Game & Watch handheld games on e-Cards for GameBoy Advance this spring. The e-Cards games can be loaded into the GameBoy Advance with the e-Card Reader, which was release on December 1, 2001.

- Idea Factory, developer of Generation of Chaos and other popular PlayStation titles, has officially signed up as a developer for GameBoy Advance, they will reveal their first GameBoy Advance titles in the next few days.

- Namco announced the release date of Tekken 4 for PlayStation 2, the game is set for release on March 20, for 6800 yen.

- Square will release the PS2 Disney RPG Kingdom Hearts in Japan on March 28, for 6800 yen.

- Elecom announced a new broadband internet package called LD-PS2/P for PlayStation 2, which allows users to access the internet using broadband connection on PlayStation 2. The package will contain a USB based internet router LD-USBL/TX and the internet browser software EG Browser. The USB network adapter plugs right into the USB port, instead of the expansion bay at the back of the console, and it support 10/100Base-TX connection. the PD-PS2/P is scheduled for release in mid-January for 7000 yen.

- Sony Computer Entertainment International, Toshiba and IBM have announced a joint development of a new operating system, which will be finished on 2005. The new OS will have broadband communication and home electronic appliances support, which allows data exchange between personal computer and home electronic appliances such as TV, air conditioners, and refrigerators.

- Mig Entertainment announced that they will the PlayStation 2 version of the love adventure game Triangle Again in Japan this spring, simultaneously with the XBox version.

- Infogrames has released new screen shots of their PlayStation 2 rally racing game V-Rally 3, the game is developed by the Eden Studios. (From IGNPS2)

- Nintendo has postponed the release date of Rare's GameCube titles Star Fox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet and Eternal Darkness, both games are dropped from the original Q1 release, no new release date is released.

- Sega Overworks has confirmed the release date of Sakura Taisen 4: Maidens fall in Love for Dreamcast, the game is scheduled for release on March 21, for 6800 yen.
