![]() ![]() ![]() Eve could feel her body shaking as he held her still and the tears flooded down her face. She turned her head away unable to let what just happened leave her. She could still feel him inside of her pushing on further after her body had started to reject him. Feeling a combination of pain, humiliation and terror, she tried to get out from underneath him just wanting to get away, but she was stuck frozen in the same spot. Her body refused to move as her mind was begging for an out. Unable to contain herself, she continued to sob into the pillow. Ryan moved beside her and pulled her into his arms. He had needed her, and damn her, she had needed him. She had seen that if only for a moment and he would make her see it again. He would. He had to. he kissed her neck, "I love you Eve." "Why didn't you just kill me Ryan?" Eve finally asked in between sobs feeling sick as he kissed her. "Why let me live?" "You need me, Eve. You knew it for a moment and you know that you still do. I'm going to make you see that. I love you and I'm going to make sure that you realize you love me too." "No," Eve replied turning away. She found the strength to pull away from him stumbling onto the floor feeling her knees give from underneath her. She started to cry again wondering how she'd allowed things to get so out of hand. How could she have been so stupid? "No?" Ryan asked getting out of bed and moving to her, "No? Eve, you know it. You know that if you just listened to yourself, you'd be very happy in my arms. If I might remind you, you're the one who brought me here, to this bed, wanting me, telling me you wanted to make love with me. You should listen to yourself." "It was a mistake," Eve replied trembling again, "I shouldn't have done that.....I shouldn't have brought you in here." she crawled away from him slightly. "It was a mistake and I know that now." "A mistake?" Ryan shouted, feeling outraged. He pulled her back to him, "It wasn't a mistake. You know that you enjoyed my attentions, my kiss, my touch, you liked it. You enjoyed having me inside you. You liked it!" he shouted at her. "No Ryan, I asked you to stop," Eve reminded him feeling the tears burn down her cheeks. "I begged you to stop, but you wouldn't do that....." she cried feeling his iron grip on her and feeling the terror all over again. "You wanted me. You wanted me to make love to you!" Ryan shouted, pulling her to him for a fierce kiss. "No!" Eve replied breaking away from the kiss with all the strength in her. She tried to break free of him. "I don't want this." "You want me Eve. You love me!" Ryan said pulling her back to the bed with him. "No!" Eve screamed kicking at him as he dragged her back into bed. She started to struggle with him not wanting to allow him to take control of her again. "You belong to me!" "No!" Eve screamed feeling him try to pin her again with his body. "Stop it Ryan! Just stop this!" "Why should I?" Ryan asked, moving his body over hers, "You want me. You need me, remember?" "Ryan please don't do this again," Eve begged feeling her body aching from before. "I'm sorry I hurt you, but please just don't." she said feeling her heart racing in her chest and her body weakening. "Why? Because you're fighting what you know to be true?" "Ryan," Eve spoke out his name seeing the anger and determination in his face, "this isn't the way it should be. I was wrong to lead you on before and I'm sorry, but please I'm begging you, don't do this again." Ryan looked at her seeing her fear and feeling empowered. He loosened his grip slowly on her, "I think I like these tears," he said wiping one from her cheek. Eve cringed at his touch turning her head slightly. "I'm sorry I hurt you Ryan," she took in another breath feeling the weight of the situation coming down on her. She looked back at him for a moment moving away as best as she could knowing that he wouldn't let her go as easily as she hoped he would. Ryan wrapped his arm around her waist, "Going
somewhere?" he asked as he watched
Eve looked back at him seeing that sadistic look in his eyes again. She could see that whatever she'd started was the end to whatever kind of understanding we'd had with one another. Right now she was terrified again afraid of what would happen to her the longer she stayed there with him. She could see his smirk widening as she moved over slightly. He tightened his grip still and she thought about the hospital...she'd had a shift she was supposed to be there for.......someone had to realize that she was missing...someone had to noticed she was gone... she was lost in her thoughts as she turned away wincing in pain. Ryan watched her for a moment and smiled coolly.
While things had started to
Eve sat still for a moment trying to think a way out of this when she felt him loosen his grip on her slightly. She moved over in the bed just wanting to get away. She could feel his breath upon her and she debated what her next move would be. While she'd expected him to be upset about what happened just a short while ago, she'd never anticipated him snapping like that, but then again, she didn't anticipate letting things get as far as they had. She looked at him seeing the monster once again and she knew that somehow she was going to get away before anything else came her way. She had to. Ryan took a deep breath and relaxed feeling strangely euphoric in this moment. Eve looked at him seeing that twisted rage behind his eyes melt into something else and it fueled something in her as she found the strength to slip out of his reach and dart across the room towards the stairs in an attempt to get away. Ryan watched her for a moment then realized what she was about. He leapt out of bed after her, determined not to lose her. Eve ran down the stairs feeling her legs shaky with each step she took, but she couldn't stay here any longer. She had to find a way out of this. She raced to the front door barely clinging to the sheet she'd managed to wrap herself in before she'd taken off and hearing him behind her, she swung the door open running outside into the chilled day feeling frost under her toes as she started running out into the yard. Ryan ran down the stairs totally forgetting about clothes and not bothering to pause long enough to bother with them. He had to catch up to her. He ran out into the yard, freezing his ***** off as he ran to catch up with her, "You can't get out of this Eve. You're mine!" Eve could feel him closing in behind her as her legs started to grow heavy. She couldn't let him catch her again. She couldn't go back in there....into that room.... Her mind was racing as she felt him reach out towards her. She couldn't let him get her as she felt his fingertips brush up against her skin, she lost her footing somehow and ended up rolling down the hill with a thud. Ryan frowned and decided that she probably wasn't going anywhere after a fall like that and meanwhile he was freezing his jewels off. He went back inside and grabbed some clothing before going back outside to get her back. Eve had finally hit the ground and after what felt like an eternity, she realized he was gone. As best as she could, she pulled herself together and tried to run again, but she only fell to the ground. She knew she'd have seconds at best and she had to get away......she couldn't let him get her as she started crawling away hoping to find some kind of shelter from him. Ryan walked outside casually, figuring that she wasn't going to get far. He tightened his jacket around him as the wind blew and he stood at the top of the hill. He watched her as she tried to get to her feet. He rubbed his hands together as if to warm them, "Cold out here, isn't Eve? What do you say you come back inside, get some clothes and we'll try this again . . . but this time I get fair warning that you want a jog, okay?" "Stay away from me!" Eve shouted up at him trying to move along still with a painful effort. She knew this was hopeless, but she couldn't go back in there again and start this over. She needed to get away from him somehow. This just couldn't be it for her. She moved about ten feet further as he watched her until she finally collapsed and struggled to pick herself up again, but failed. Ryan took a breath and exhaled watching his breath appear in the air. He looked down at her then looked out towards the lake, "Give up yet?" "No," Eve replied feeling the warmth of the blood from her scrapes on her skin. She pushed on a little further knowing how much he was enjoying this as she moved towards the water needing to get away. "Where do you think you're going now? For a swim? That should be nice. Frozen Eve on a stick." Eve inched further a bit before finally collapsing this time no longer able to get up as she cried. She curled up in a ball wondering if he'd just leave her there to die as it felt like a better alternative to going back to the hell she knew she'd face with him. Ryan watched her for a moment before deciding she was done. He started walking towards her, "You know, this could have gone so much simpler. We could still be in bed, showing each other all the ways we need each other, but noooo, you had to ruin it by deciding to run the Boston marathon here. Well," he said as he reached her, "I've got some news for you. No more marathons, no more cross-country jaunts. It's time to get serious." he said as he pulled her to her feet and helping her as they went back to the house. Eve wanted to struggle but she just couldn't as he dragged her back inside. All she could do was cry feeling defeated as he shoved her back into the house and she wondered what horrors would await her this time. Ryan slammed the door behind them as he walked inside, shoving Eve to the sofa,"Why must you be so difficult? Things could be so simple if you'd just let them. We could have been happy together, and we still can if you stop this infintile hard to get gesture. It's really not that appealing." Eve grabbed a pillow to cover herself with as she curled up on the couch seeing his rage. She looked away as he talked to her not wanting to see him.....not wanting to be there as she silently wished someone would find her and take her away from this. She inched further back on the couch not wanting him near her. She closed her eyes just wishing he'd disappear....that she'd wake up and this all would disappear. "Just leave me alone." she begged feeling him move closer to her. Ryan frowned, "Okay, we'll play this game but not for long. You'll be mine one way or the other." Ryan said before going to the phone and dialing DV. When he answered, he spoke, "It's me. We need to talk." "Well if it isn't Ryan. What do we need to talk about Doc." DV said laughing. "Don't call me that," Ryan said firmly, "It seems our little Lady Doctor wants to rid herself of me." "I told you no one can keep that one satisfied. Hell if I couldn't do it, no one else can either." DV said laughing. "So what do you want me to do about it?" "I want you to help us get out of Port Charles. I'm not leaving her behind." "Where would you like to go Doc." "I swear, if you call me that one more TIME!!" Ryan shouted before glancing back over to Eve, "Eve here won't be the only one worrying about being killed." DV laughed. "Why don't you calm down and come up with a suitable apology for what you just said and then call me back." he said as he hung up the phone. "Sunnuva Bitch!" Ryan yelled hanging up the phone. He walked over to Eve, dragging her through the house and shoving her into the bedroom. He needed to calm down and having her watch him with those frightened little eyes wasn't going to help. He walked back into the living room and sank onto the sofa, wondering what to do next. Angry Eve started to pound on the door seeing it was locked as Ryan took off. She sank to the floor still holding the pillow from before and slowly she pulled out the letter opener. She wasn't sure how long she'd be locked up, but she knew next time he came back she'd be ready. She pulled herself together enough to go over to the closet and put something on to take away the chill of having been outside like she was. She finished getting dressed seeing her horrid reflection in the mirror as she tucked the blunt object into her pocket promising that she wouldn't let him throw out any surprises at her when she heard the doorbell ring. Ryan jumped at hearing the knock at the door . . . What could possibly go wrong now? He got up and walked to the door slowly, wondering who would be visiting. He took a deep breath and tried to force himself back into wimp-Kevin mode before he opened the door. "Hi Kevin I take it. We need to talk." Shelley Lambert explained meeting his gaze, “now.” Damn, it did get worse. . . now he had her to deal with . . . . although he began to think of possibilities. He opened the door wider, "Please come in, Shelley. What's on your mind?" "Where's my sister?" "I have no idea. . . Why? Has something happened to Eve?" "I thought the two of you were together? She's missing Kevin." "She was here a few days ago and then she left. She told me she needed some space ...," Ryan paused, waited for just the right moment and then looked at her, "Missing? What do you mean? Where is she?" "Hello? Didn't I just say that. Where is she Kevin?" "If I knew I would tell you, Shelley. Where could she have gone? Has anyone heard from her?" he asked moving across the room towards his desk. “Not that I know of,“ Shelley looked at him for a long moment. "Is everything okay, you are acting a little weird." Eve sat still for a moment listening through the door trying to figure out who was there. She wasn't sure if it was someone who could help or perhaps it was the person that Ryan was talking to. Either way she knew that she couldn't stay in there forever. She looked around the room for a moment before finally tapping on the door praying that she wasn't making a mistake and that it was help finally. "Everything's fine," Ryan said as he heard the tapping coming from the bedroom. Damn Eve, he was going to show her the penalty for irritating him. "What was that?" Shelley said walking towards the door. "Rats," Ryan said walking to the door and kicking it, "Just rats. I'm having the place fumagated in a few days." Eve heard the sound on the other side of the door and she spoke up. "Let me out of here Ryan!" she screamed at him knowing full well she couldn't stay here. "Since when do rats tap? Eve?" Shelly called out. "You are going to pay for this." she said looking at Kevin and starting to unlock the door. Ryan grabbed her hand and shoved her against the wall, "You're too damn inquisitive and that's not a trait that I particularly admire." "Shelley?" Eve replied hearing her voice as she stood up. "Oh God Shelley." she spoke out in terror suddenly very afraid for her sister knowing that she was with Ryan. "Shelley you have to get out of here." she tried to warn her through the door. "Shut up, Eve!" Ryan shouted back at her, "I'm a little busy seeing what your sister has to offer." "Don't you dare touch her Ryan!" Eve screamed through the door pounding on it harder. "Leave her alone!" "Careful, Eve. I'm beginning to think you're jealous," Ryan smiled as he eyed Shelley. Eve started pulling on the door knob not wanting him to hurt her sister as her anger grew. She couldn't let him get to her......he couldn't hurt her.......he just couldn't....her mind raced as she found a strength she'd thought she'd lost earlier and she pounded on the door. "Eve, you're giving me a headache so stop it!" ryan yelled as he punched the door in reply. Eve felt the impact of the punch through the door as she grew desperate searching the room. Finally she spoke up. "I'm calling the police Ryan. You forgot about the phone in here." she shouted at him. "Eve!" Ryan shouted as he burst through the door and shoved Shelley inside as well. He walked over to the phone, yanking it out of the wall and throwing it across the room, "Bad idea, Lambert." Shelley pushed him. "You keep your hands OFF of me." "Stay away from her," Eve replied stepping up to Ryan and glaring at him. "Or what Eve? You'll run again? Or are we going to go all the way back to the knife in the kitchen? You've already proved once that you can't kill me." "That was before you pushed me too far Ryan." Eve replied angrily looking at him as she moved forward. "I won't let you hurt her like you've hurt me." Shelley started inching her way towards the door knowing she had to get help for Eve Ryan grabbed her and shoved her towards the bed, "you're not going anywhere!" Eve watched this madness going on around her and she knew that regardless of the outcome it would have, she wouldn't let him hurt Shelley at any cost. She stepped towards him still vowing not to let him hurt her. "Come on, Eve. We both know that you love my attentions." Eve shuddered at the memory seeing the fire in his eyes again. "Ryan before you said you loved me and if I stayed with you, you wouldn't hurt anyone I cared about, well now I'm asking you to own up to that. Let Shelley go and the two of us will finish what we started earlier." she said firmly wanting her sister out of this. Shelly saw Eve had captured Ryan’s attention and she came up from behind punching him in the kidneys. When he doubled over she looked at Eve - "RUN - GO!" "Come on Shelley." Eve said refusing to leave her. Eve knew she was in no true condition to run, but my sister, she could. "Get out of here and get help Shelley. I'll keep him busy until you're safe." she said thinking about the letter opener. "Call the police." Ryan regained his breath after a moment and left
the room for a moment, closing
"DAMMIT EVE!" Shelly shouted at her.
"Tou had plenty of time to get help -
"Shelley, you have no idea what he's capable of." Eve replied nodding to the bang up job Ryan did with her. "Don't you think I tried all those things on him? Shelley I've been fighting him for a while now and it's almost as if he's not human. Nothing you can do will keep him down for long short of killing the bastard!" Ryan sat back against the door and listened to the two of them when he got an idea. "Don't even think about that Eve. We'll get out of here and he'll be brough to justice. What about that window?" "Shelley, you don't realize what we're dealing with do you?" Eve asked watching her move to the window. "Shelley, I've made at least three escape attempts, but the man has always found me. I think I crushed a couple of ribs in the last attempt." she said drawing in a breath and feeling weak, "but you should go for help if you can." Ryan unlocked the door and stepped inside, leaning back against the door, "I wouldn't try it there, Dear Shelley. I'd hate to have to give you the same treatment that I gave dear sweet Eve here. . . except she asked for it." "You have no idea who you are dealing with with me whoever the hell you are. I can hurt you in so many ways you'll wish you were dead." "I sincerely doubt it," Ryan smiled glancing back over to Eve, "Just ask Eve here about what a great guy I am." "Wanna try me out and see what I can do tough guy. You're really tough beating up on women." Eve looked at her sister seeing that fight she'd always admired about her as she stood up to Ryan, but at the same time she had no clue of who she was dealing with. Eve looked over at him hating him completely as he spoke to them. "Is that what she told you? Now now Eve. . . you should tell her what really happened." "Go to hell Ryan." Eve snapped back at him angrily feeling the horrors of the past couple days in her mind. "You should be nice to me, Eve. You know how this game works. If you're nice to me, I can be very nice to you," he said with a grin, "It's when you stop playing nice that bad things happen." "Well I'm not going to let them happen again." Eve answered firmly letting him know they wouldn't have a repeat of earlier. "I promise you that." Shelley looked at him with disgust and side kicked him to the floor. "NOW EVE GO!" she said kicking him in the side. "Not without you Shelley." Eve said looking at Ryan for a moment before deciding to go for the phone in the other room. "I'm calling the police." Ryan reached over and grabbed Eve's ankle, "You're not going anywhere. If were you," he said through clenched teeth, "I'd tell Shelley to play nice before I lose my temper." Eve was moving towards the other room when he grabbed her and she let out a wince in pain and keeled over. She felt him tighten his grip on her ankle. "Let go of me." Shelley kicked his hand away from Eve's ankle. "Unless you want to stay here sis get the hell out!" "No!" Ryan said as he finally caught a breath and yanked Eve towards him. Eve cried out again as he dragged her towards him. She couldn't believe his strength after the kick her sister had given him but he seemed almost energized. "Let go of me." she cried out in pain. "No!" Ryan said as he moved towards her, "I've told you before Eve. You're mine. You're not going anywhere. You belong to me." "No you're wrong." Eve replied feeling him holding her tightly as she looked to her sister across the room. "I'll never be yours." "Oh but you are, and you know it. You admitted how much you needed me earlier and I'm not going to stop until you realize it for good." "I wasn't thinking clearly, but I am now." Eve shot back struggling to get away from him as he held her. Ryan crushed her against him, "You were thinking very clearly when you asked me to make love to you." "No I wasn't." Eve replied meeting his icy stare. "I wasn't thinking clearly at all when I allowed you to do what you did, but it will never.......ever happen again." "Oh yes it will, Eve," Ryan said firmly watching her lips as he spoke, "You'll beg me to make love to you before I'm through with you. I intend to have you aching for me, Eve." "You're delusional Ryan." Eve replied trying to reach inside her pocket for the letter opener, but finding herself unsuccessful in her attempt as he crushed her. "Nothing you could do would ever make me want you." Seeing an opportunity Shelley went out of the room to get her cell phone and call the police. "You're wrong, Eve. You are so wrong. I'm going to have you begging for my touch," Ryan said as he noticed the young one trying to slip out. He tossed Eve to the bed and went out after Shelley. He caught up with her and more or less tackled her to the floor, "Going somewhere?" "Get off of me!" she yelled at him. "I'm going to put you where you belong you psychopath." "Where would that be, sweetheart," Ryan said grabbing her and pulling her back to him, "Would that be with your darling sister? You know I just can't seem to get enough of her," he smiled. Eve felt a bit winded as Ryan tossed her aside, but after a moment or two she pulled together enough energy to go after him and Shelley. She moved into the other room watching them struggle with one another as Shelley reached for the mace inside her purse trying to spray him. "Bad idea baby," Ryan said as he watched her, grabbing a golf club from the corner and smacking the cell phone out of her hand. Shelley brought her mace up and gave him a good spray. "No yours was a bad idea *BABY*" she said retrieving her cell phone and tried dialing again. Ryan screamed as he grabbed his face. Eve watched her sister take charge and she was impressed that she'd taken him down so easily. Without hesitation, she walked into the room kicking him with her good leg to keep him from preventing Shelley from getting help. "I'm gonna get you for this. You're not leaving here. If I can't have you, no one will...do you understand me?" Ryan shouted as he tried to get back to himself. Eve looked at him for a moment just glaring at
him. She stepped out of his reach
Ryan began to pull himself to his feet, trying to open his eyes to see, but everything was so blurry and his eyes still burned, "I'm not going anywhere without you, Eve. You're mine and you know it." Seeing that he was still blinded, Eve stepped towards him pulling enough strength to punch him in the center of the stomach as her anger raged. "I'm not yours and I'll never be yours." she screamed at him. "You'll never get the best of me again." "You're mine. Mine!" Ryan said as he doubled over in pain, falling back to his knees. "Paybacks a bitch ain't it." Shelley heard the operator come on. "Yes we need assistance." she started to give the address. Eve could feel the pain in her fist as she turned to Shelley seeing that she was getting through. Eve took a step back feeling her ribs ache as she leaned up against the wall watching Ryan. Ryan reached the golf club again and swung in the direction of a blur. He felt it connect and watched as Shelley bent over. She grabbed the phone and smashed it with the golfclub. "You're not calling anyone!" Ryan shouted as he moved towards her. "No," Eve replied getting up and chasing after him. She jumped at him trying to keep him from Shelley. "I told you that you couldn't resist me," Ryan said catching her as she tackled him to the floor. Eve started to fight with him again punching him with my fists as Shelley grew very silent though she was now crawling towards the phone weakly. Ryan wrestled with Eve, taking blows left and right and they were really starting to piss him off. He wrestled her to the ground and brought my hands to her throat, as he looked up to Shelley, "You touch that phone and I'll kill her!" "You know something I don't need to call - you
know why? Cause you see the police departments have very sophisticated
computers these days - when the call comes in they know right where it's
coming from. Here that? That's sirens Ryan and they'll be getting
closer and closer."
Ryan tightened his grip around Eve's neck and looked back at Shelley, "They'd better bring the coroner with them, because Eve will be dead by the time they hit the door." Without another word in response, Shelly gasped and doubled over. Ryan watched her for a moment before loosening his grip on Eve, and smiling down at her, "I have a way with women." Eve tried to suck in air still trying to fight Ryan as her eyes filled with tears. She coughed slightly before getting up after Ryan. She dug into her pocket and pulled out the letter opener driving it into his side. Ryan grabbed his side and sank to the floor barely able to breath from the pain. "I warned you not to push me Ryan," Eve said feeling the rage inside of her as she pulled back the letter opener seeing his blood on it. Ryan moved his fingers down to his side, hurting
and then seeing his blood on his
Eve was still holding the letter opener as she
moved over to Shelley trying to help her out.
Ryan tried to get up and winced in pain as he started to get off the floor. Eve turned to look at him seeing him get up as she held out the letter opener. "I wouldn't try it Ryan." she warned "So it turns out that you do have it in you after all," he said wincing and holding his side as he fell back against the wall, leaning against it for support, "I told you before Eve, we're just alike." “No Ryan, that's where you're wrong. We're nothing alike." she replied looking at him watching him look defeated. "I'm nothing like you and I never will be." "Yes you are. You're just like me. You're striking out at what you think you hate." "Ryan nothing I could do to you could be worse than what you've done to me.......what you tried to destroy." Eve said stepping towards him. Seeing he was weak, she reached out to him touching his face so that he looked into her eyes. "I won't allow you to hurt me anymore." "You like it, don't you Eve? You like feeling power over me. You like that you have all the power. You can feel it running through your veins and it makes you feel good, doesn't it?" Ryan asked as he pulled in a ragged breath. "Ryan knowing that you won't ever hurt me again makes me feel good." Eve replied glaring at him as she held the letter opener. "I could kill you so easily and yes the thought does have it's high points, but I'd rather watch you suffer through this." Eve finished not hearing anyone come in as she stood before Ryan glaring at him Ryan turned his eyes and noticed the officer come in, "Help . . . she's trying to kill me." "Oh please," Eve rolled her eyes at him. Ryan watched Eve for a moment before pushing off the wall and going towards her one more time. The officer walked in and kept her gun trained
on Ryan and Eve. She looked at her.
Eve was about to answer her question when Ryan slammed her into the wall. She lost her footing and felt the letter opener slipping. The officer went to him and put her gun against his head. "Let her go & back away...now!" Ryan smiled as he placed his hand over the letter opener and jammed it into Eve's side, "Now then, we're a matching set." Eve let out a scream feeling the opener go into her side. She could feel it digging inside of her as Ryan twisted it again. The officer pulled him off of her and slammed
him into the wall. "You're under arrest,
Eve watched as the woman grabbed Ryan and pulling
together the strength she moved
"Oh God Shelley," Eve said leaning over her looking to one of the officers. "We need an ambulance here fast." "One is on the way, Dr." Taggert entered the room within a matter of seconds as he assessed the situation and he grabbed Ryan pushing him against the wall and cuffed him. "Sit down." "I smell law suit . . if I survive where that bitch tried to kill me." The other officer read him his right. "Listen buddy if the doctor over there wanted to kill you - the coroner would be taking you away not an ambulance." "You're reading her wrong, Cop. She doesn't want me dead. She loves me." Ryan insisted flashing Eve a menacing grin. “Come on Dr. Lambert,” One of the officers spoke out touching Eve’s arm as she threw Ryan one last look before she and Shelley were taken out to the ambulance out front. “I’ll miss you baby, but don’t worry I’ll be back for you,” Ryan called out to her as Eve closed her eyes wanting to just put the nightmare behind her. Once Shelley and Eve were taken to the hospital
she was moved into another room and she was tended to. She wasn't
sure who was on staff, but she needed to go see her sister. She heard someone
mention paging Chris, but in her worry she went into the room her sister
was in hoping to help work on her forgetting about her wounds for the time
being.
