It was anything but love at first sight, at least where Eve was concerned.  Her first encounter with the handsome Dr. Thornhart was in the on call room at General Hospital where she found him half naked after a shower and was a bit distracted for a moment, but not long enough to forget her purpose for being there.  Angry, Eve lashed out at Ian for interfering with her patient files and she warned him to back off as she didn't like his intrusions on her work.  Ian, in turn flirted with Eve in his own way by remarking that 'her eyes danced' when she was angry.  Over time the two reluctantly worked together at the clinic and Eve began to see a softer side of Ian.  The turning point for them was when both Ian and Eve went on the search to help Alison and Jamal.  Ian told Eve a painful recount of his sister whom he'd lost after an abortion.  During his moment of recollection, Eve felt his pain and was compelled to share her own story of loss where her son was concerned.  After that moment the two had seemingly bonded.  Later on they were presented with the challenge and mystery of the Blue Dots showing up on their patients.  Ian and Eve were bound and determined to discover the truth about this mysterious illness and they worked together to solve the mystery, thus alienating Eve from her loving husband Kevin.  As they worked together, Ian's feelings for Eve grew into something far more than friendship and the two shared a stolen kiss.  Once the Blue Dot Mystery came to a climax, Ian realized his feelings for Eve were far too strong to stay in Port Charles, so he opted to leave.  Seeking the truth behind his decision to leave, Eve followed Ian to his car and got inside begging him for the truth about his departure.  Ian opened up to Eve and was about to share his heart when there was an explosion and the rest of Port Charles was lead to believe that Ian and Eve had died.  In actuality however Ian and Eve were held hostage by Harris, a man from Ian's past who'd been set on destroying Ian.  Eve and Ian were brought to his compound in an attempt to save Harris from the death that was hanging over him.  Along the way as Ian and Eve worked together, they both came to terms with their feelings and realized that they were falling in love.  The two eventually escaped and returned to Port Charles where Eve was planning on telling Kevin about her feelings for Ian, but an accident prevented her from doing so as Eve was hit by a car and lost her memories of loving Ian.  Arianna, the woman who'd hit Eve with the car, was in trouble and Ian, forced to put what he felt for Eve aside, began to help her hoping to save her from the troubles that were following her.  Eve went on with her life with Kevin finding herself tortured by memories of Ian, memories that she couldn't place if they were real or not.  Finally on her vow renewal ceremony Eve remembered loving Ian and she rushed out to find him, only to discover that Ian had married Arianna to save her life, a reason unknown to Eve.  Will these two find love and happiness together?  Some would like to think so.  Is this the end of a budding romance?  Time will only tell for Ian and Eve.
