Outcasts:
The Beginnings Of Chris and Eve

From the beginning of Port Charles it was obvious that Dr. Chris Ramsey and Dr. Eve Lambert weren't looking to make any pals.  Both had agendas and goals...primarily looking out for number one and in doing so, these two cynics crossed paths.  Chris was out for one thing: making sure he was a step ahead of the rest.  Wanting wealth, power and status, Chris wasn't looking to find any pals in Port Charles.  Eve, on the other hand, was determined to overlook her past and move forward to get the life she'd missed out on growing up poor as a child.  Both these two had an agenda and it was in being the outcasts in Port Charles that they became friends.  Instantly the attraction was evident with these two and as in everything they'd encountered distrust had run high.  Knowing that Chris had a file on her past provided by Greg Cooper's arrest during the beginning of their internship, Eve broke into his apartment in the hopes of stealing it, but instead she was caught and Chris tried to blackmail her into helping him win the heart of Julie Morris (Devlin) as he was interested in getting a piece of her...bank account that was.  Somehow over time these two became pals none the less.  When Julie found out about her father's affair with Eve, Chris offered Eve a place to stay by letting her sleep on the couch at his apartment.  Over the brief time they shared together in his apartment, Chris found himself increasingly attracted to Eve as they shared stolen kisses and a great many martinis.  Eve too felt an instant attraction to Chris and when she'd moved out it was that attraction that convinced her that moving out was the right thing.  Over time the two remained friends while Chris did what he could to eliminate the competetion in winning the prestigous Quartermaine residency.  He pulled out all the stops in an attempt to one up the competetion namely Dr. Matt Harmon when Chris went to great lengths to catch Matt and superior Dr. Ellen Burgess together in a compromising position thus ensuring him the Quartermaine Residency.  During this time however the General Homicide murders began and Chris and Eve both stuck together as they had no real alibis for the time in which Bennett Devlin was murdered.  The two grew close covering for one another and over the years they developed a friendship becoming best friends.  Chris nursed Eve's wounds a great many times when the men in her life tossed her aside and together they found a bond unlike anything they'd ever known before.  Chris was Eve's rock during the good times and bad and he went to great lengths to help her.  Secretly falling in love with Eve, Chris risked his life trying to help her when Cooper and Julie kidnapped her, he was at her side when she was taken in for surgery and he pleaded for her to just believe in him when Courtney and Frank tried to break up their friendship.  Time and time again Eve has been blind to Chris' feelings for her, but long time viewers believe that they are still there.  Currently Eve is chasing after Ian and Chris is spending his time toying with Livvie, but these two have a history that is worth revisiting and perhaps one day Eve will see what she had in front of her and when she does, will Chris still be waiting for her?  Some fans would like to think so.  To experience more of the Chris and Eve memories go to the Chris and Eve Memory Page to relive some of their times together.
