Picture of Freedan

Freedan the Sunrie has no real form that may be seen. His form changes with all who look upon him so it is impossible to bring about a profile. The only thing that stays consistant among those who describe Freedan is that he is approximately the height of five foot ten inches and wears very slightly baggy clothing. The description of this clothing, however, is ever changing as well. Any form that one sees Freedan as is how one's subconcious displays him. If Freedan appears to be weak, pathetic, ugly, or any such thing, then it is a reflection of one's own self!

As a young child, Freedan, then known as Daniel McFree, grew up on a small farm in an age of prosperity. As many children due, Daniel yearned for adventure and higher rank in the world. At the age of thirteen, Daniel ran away from home and joined the academy with dreams of becoming as well known as Garet of Selac Nogard, a knight of infamous notoriety and prosperity at the time.
Two years passed and graduation came for the academy. Each of the squires would be given a knight to train under. Three squires were left, Daniel being one of them, when the doors to the academy gave way and a man upon a large horse came riding in; It was Garet! Giving a few words to the head of the academy, Garet dropped from his horse and approached the remaining three. After much thought, Garet pointed a finger at Daniel, and so began Daniel's journey to fame, or so he hoped.
Over the next few months, Daniel and Garet became very good friends. Daniel was even allowed to go along on tasks and complete duties he was not supposed to be doing yet or even at all! If Garet went somewhere, Daniel was to follow. Garet himself had even told the king at one point that Daniel was to be trained harder than any and so Daniel must be given special treatment. So that, too, came to be.
Daniel had just turned twenty and any peace, prosperity or happiness the realm once knew was destroyed by the Dark Queen Sorona. She had come from the Land Beyond the Mirror a year and a half ago, methodically taking the entire realm by force. Everyone sent up against her never returned. Taking sword in hand, Garet vowed to slay the evil queen. Daniel convinced Garet to allow him the honor to go along with him to prove he was worthy of knighthood in the next year and that he was worthy to be called Garet's successor. As they rode to where the Dark Queen had made her strong hold, Garet and Daniel encountered many a foe deployed by Sorona to stop them, but every time Daniel and Garet killed each minion. With all looking so optimistic, Garet and Daniel decided to rest beneath a tree at mid-day to eat. From the shadows a being emerged and knocked Daniel to the floor. Garet turned, but he, too, suffered the same fate.
Awakening slowly, Daniel's swollen and blood filled eyes began to focus on the surroundings before him. Daniel tried to run, but his legs were weakened and his hands were bound above his head. Barely able to breath, Daniel spat blood and looked around. He realized where he was now! It was known now as the Canyon of Despair and no one had ever come back from here. Tilting his tired neck, Daniel saw his attacker for the first time. The demon wore an armour that was too dark to be called black from head to toe. Its eyes were deep red, but did not seem to glow. In its fist the demon clung to a sword made of an almost black marble metal, in its other fist it cluctched Garets limp body above the ground.
"Listen to me boy," the demon spoke into Daniel's mind, "My name is the Knight of Darkness, one of the Dark Queen's personal guards. Watch now as I show you the limitations of your kind!" The Knight of Darkness tossed Garet's body up a few feet and plunged the massive sword into Garet's chest. Garet shouted as best he could with his now punchured lungs. Blood began to fall from his eyes, mouth and nose just as the Knight of Darkness slid the blade out of Garet's body. Turning to look at Daniel, the Knight of Darkness spun his sword. Daniel believed it was over, but the blade cut the rope and he fell to the floor.
"...run, Daniel..." Garet whispered in a bubble of blood.
"So, you aren't finished just yet, are you?" the Knight of Darknessed asked mockingly and began his way back to Garet's body. Daniel staggered up and ran as best he could, hiding between two large boulders. In the distance, he could hear the Knight of Darkness' laughter as an explosion erupted.
The Knight of Darkness never did come looking for Daniel and so he ran away from the canyon, never looking back. For the next two years, Daniel's mind and soul were in constant torment. Finally, it completely ripped his body apart! The goddess, Gaia, one of the two ruling goddesses of the realm, looked down upon him in pitty. She reconstructed his body, mind and soul, but he was so destroyed that his body would change with all those who were created by the gods looked upon him. Daniel could not even remember his name correctly and interpreted it as Freedan. With this realm and so many others in need of one to protect them, she bestowed upon him the title of Sunrie. This title is granted to only one other. She forged for him a mighty blade that would not break nor betray its owner. The name of this blade is Muramasa, translated as "Heavenly Rain". He was also stripped of the ability of love and hate, but he did not care much for these emotions and did not care when he had to give them up. He does still feel, but never one extreme nor the other.
To this day Freedan continues on his task of defending the realms needed when called upon the other gods and often frequents the realm known as Zocalo where he knows many and meets many more.
