My grandparents were from Shandong province which is in the east of China, but my dad was born in Harbin, a city in the northeast of China. There he started to learn to paint.

When my dad was 16, he went to a theological seminary in Nanjing. After his college years, he went to Xinjiang. He and my mom got married in the city named Bole, and I was born there. : ) He'd worked there for more than 30 years. Right after his retirement, he moved to Shanghai where my mom was born. So far, he enjoys the life here very much since the weather is always nice, and he has his time and room to do what he likes, and that is to paint.

Before we moved here, My dad painted a lot pictures on the subject "life of minorities in Xinjiang", but what he likes to paint most is the life story of Jesus Christ. By now, he has got a couple albums and books published, including a papercuts album, and a Sacred Paintings collection. This picture was taken before the remodeling of my home, you can see some paintings by my dad hanging on the wall, the one on the right is Good Shepherd.
