Bosson - One In A Million
"I
have the chance to have a lot of people hear my music, but I am
trying to take it one step at a time and not look too far
ahead... If you look too far ahead and create too many
expectations, you have a longer distance to fall. If you let your
head get too high, it's a long way down. We'll see what happens
tomorrow." [Bosson]
About a month ago I bought Swedish born Bosson's album called "One In A Million". Because I work for a Norwegian online music magazine, I decided to review the album. Searching for material about the guy, I came across his e-mail address. I thought to myself, "Heck, what have I got to lose?" and sent him an e-mail with a link to the review and a question for an interview. As this man probably has lots to do 24/7 like any other artist, I didn't expect an answer - but it's better to ask and not get an answer than not asking at all. You never know, right?
A couple of days later, Sunday evening, I was just about to log out of my mail system when I heard a *ding* and saw a new mail coming in. The subject line said, "re: Review". I saw that the sender was Bosson, but didn't think it was actually HIM. Celebrities have all types of people to do stuff for them, like PA's, agents etc. so I expected something in the lines of, "Your e-mail has been received. We appreciate your support" or something. But what I got what something quite different:
"Thank
you so much for a beautiful review!!!
Itīs
nice of you to compliment my songwriting.
A lot of people just put 2 and 2 together when they see my
picture and hear my music.
That means a lot to me.
Send me the questions any time!!
Craaaaazy loooove,
Bosson"
Needless to say, I got quite excited. Not only did I get an e-mail from Bosson, I got an e-mail from Bosson saying "send me the questions any time!!" I came up with a bunch of questions without really knowing anything about him apart from the fact that he's Swedish, is 26 years old, is really called Staffan Olsson and is a talented musician. So this interview was pretty much me wanting to know more, and hopefully not sounding too nosy.
