"Piper, I know that you're in there somewhere, all right, so just try and listen. Just remember that no matter what happens, I'm gonna bring you back. I'm so sorry, honey."
                                                    -Prue

Prue and Leo stand in front of a large piece of poster board with various pictures of students from Baker High, class of 1990. There in the corner is a photo of Piper in high school. She has glasses and braces, and as Leo stares at the photo, Prue explains how hard that time was for her sister. Piper never knew quite where she fit in, being the middle sister and all.
Finally, Piper comes down the stairs, looking very un-Piperish. Her dress has feathers and her hair is all poofy. Prue and Leo just stare at her in surprise, trying to convince her that she looks really great (and she does, she just doesn't look that much like Piper). Piper doesn't buy their compliments though. She knows them better than that.
Leo can't understand why she's so worried about her upcoming high school reunion. Piper realizes immediately that he must have been popular when he was in school. Piper explains that she was a nobody. Prue takes issue with that, but has to agree with Piper, when her sister insists that she can't understand. Prue was after all, the senior class president.
As they wander into the living room, Prue promises to get Piper ready, to make her look perfect. After all she's the one who helped Phoebe go blonde. And speaking of Phoebe, Leo wonders if they should invite her along. She's been rather quiet since the big Cole vanquish. Piper figures that Phoebe needs the alone time though, and she hurries up the stairs to change once again. Prue instructs Leo to help Phoebe out, while she helps Piper tackle her issues.
Meanwhile, a demon alchemist named Cirkin has used his own blood to create a life essence that he can control. He has placed the essence into the body of a woman named Tera. But now Tera yearns for a real life. She stabs herself and releases her essence once more. Before Cirkin can get her back into the bottle from which she was made, she drifts away, landing in the body of a business man. She possesses him, taking over his body as his soul watches in horror. Then she sets off to find the Charmed Ones, knowing that they can vanquish Cirkin, making her truly free.
Back at the Manor, Prue is helping Piper get ready. Piper's still doesn't want to go to the dreaded reunion, but Prue won't let her back out. Besides, she reminds her, nothing could be as bad as her date the previous night. Piper offers to find her a guy at the reunion. But Prue insists that younger men aren't on her list. Piper can't believe that she's still making lists. That's not exactly the way to find a good guy.
Moments later, Phoebe ducks in, searching for her glasses. When she can't find them, she quickly leaves. Her sisters chase after her, forcing her to stop. They offer to take her to the reunion, but Phoebe explains that she's going to the library to study all night. And she needs some time to herself anyway. She still searching for answers about Cole.
As Prue, Piper and Leo load up the car with food for the party, a man drives up to the house, calling Piper over. He is Justin Harper, a former classmate of Piper's. Leo's jealous until Prue explains that Justin had liked her back in high school. But she'd apparently never returned the sentiment. She goes over to greet him, but he appears not to know her. He calls her Phoebe. Prue quickly corrects him.
While Prue talks to Justin, Leo is called by the whitelighters. Piper is worried that he won't make it back. But he promises not to miss the reunion. He's going to have the prettiest date.
What neither Piper nor Leo seem to realize, is that they are being watched by someone. Tera is in a car not far away. She has found the Halliwells finally. She looks in the rearview mirror where she sees the soul of the man whose body she's stolen. He pleads for her to get out of his body. But she has to wait until one of the sisters is alone. In the meantime, his soul is suffocating, dying the longer she stays inside. As Piper and Prue set off for P3, Tera follows.
Meanwhile, Phoebe has returned to the masoleum where she last saw Cole. She stands over the area of the fake vanquishing, hoping to get a premonition. She hates lying to her sisters about Cole being dead, and she needs to find a way to tell them the truth. But as she leans back against the stone work, she has a premonition. A demonic woman steals a small boy away from his father, before killing the man. Phoebe comes out of her premonition, then rubs away the dust from the stone. It says Benjamin Colerige Turner and lists the date of his death, over a century ago.
Piper, Prue and Justin enter P3 as the planning committee is starting to decorate. Piper spots Missy, the former homecoming queen, directing the activities. She goes over to talk to her, reminding the woman that they had classes together. Missy doesn't recognize her at first, and when she finally does, she manages to belittle poor Piper, while plastering a fake smile on her face. She is in awe at how Piper's skin has cleared up. Then she asks her to take the trash out. Obviously uncomfortable and slightly embarrassed, Piper agrees to do so.
Prue has been watching the whole exchange at the bar with Justin. She's ready to rush to Piper's aid, but Justin pulls her back. Piper's got to learn to stand up for herself. He reminds Prue of the time when Piper ran for freshman class secretary, but she was too scared to speak, so Prue finished her speech for her. Ah, so Justin did remember her. Prue asks him then why he called her Phoebe. He explains that she plagued his high school existence, so he had wanted to turn the tables on her. After he mentions something about a list of his own, Prue immediately brightens, sensing some kind of chemistry.
Finally Prue can take it no longer. As she sees Piper scooping up the trash, she goes over to talk to her. She offers to beat up all the people who've been mean to her sister. But Piper seems against that idea. She's just going to take out the trash and get a grip. She'll be fine.
But unfortunately, Piper really won't be fine, because as she goes to the back alley, Tera is following her. She quickly stabs the body she's in, killing the man. Piper is stunned, but as she tries to help, Tera possesses her. Then she stands up and glances at a broken mirror, seeing the real Piper inside.
As Piper returns to P3 she looks in another mirror, asking her soul, the name of her sister. The real Piper refuses to tell her. Tera realizes that Piper is much stronger than she thought. But that won't last long.
Meanwhile, Prue and Justin have been rating each other, according to their lists. Neither has scored very highly. Prue spots Piper and goes over to talk to her. Just then Missy appears, asking Piper to move her food off of the table. She agrees, before Prue protests, insisting that Piper can stand up for herself. Piper seems surprised at this, but only to happy to oblige. She tells Missy in no uncertain terms that she can do it herself. Prue is a little surprised at the language she chooses, and even more surprised when Piper grabs her arm suddenly, begging for help. Obviously the real Piper has gained control momentarily. But that only lasts a second or two. Prue is confused. Piper explains that she's not feeling well. She's going to go back to the manor for awhile, then return for the party.
Back behind P3, Cirkin has found the dead businessman. He uses his powers to bring the man back to life, and quickly interrogates him. The man is stunned that he is alive, and directs Cirkin to the big pink house on Prescott street where they first spotted the sisters. Unfortunately for the man, his information is rewarded with death once again.
Although she told her sisters that she was going to the library, Phoebe instead heads for the historical society. There she finds out about Benjamin Turner. Strangely enough, there is no date recorded for his wife's death, or for the death of his son, Cole.
Over at the manor, Tera remains in Piper's body. She is worried that Cirkin will find her and furious that Piper won't reveal what her power is. Every time she looks in a mirror, she sees Piper who is rather bitter about her current situation. She assures Tera that her sisters will figure out what has happened. But Tera explains that Piper's soul will die long before that. Piper assures her that if she does die, her sisters will vanquish Tera forever.
Prue, meanwhile is still at P3, tormenting Missy. Every time the woman asks her to do something, Prue moves one of her fingers, sending the balloons they've hung up, floating back to the floor. Justin comments that they must have a poltergeist. Prue is surprised to hear that he believes in such things, and decides to add belief in the supernatural to her list.
Unfortunately for Piper, Tera seems to realize just how much her sisters care for her. She quickly forms a plan and hurries to the kitchen, grabbing the phone. She calls Prue at P3 and tells her that a demon has just come and gone. Prue asks her if she froze it and Tera finally learns Piper's power. Unfortunately Prue also tells her to look in the Book of Shadows, while she goes to pick up Phoebe. Once off the phone, Tera questions Piper about the book. Piper refuses to tell her its location, until Tera threatens to kill her and possess one of her sisters. Finally Piper points her to the attic.
As Prue hurries to get home to her sister, she calls Phoebe, only to discover that Phoebe's not at the library. Prue seems surprised that her sister would lie to her. But she heads to the Historical Society anyway, ready to pick her up and race home to Piper.
Back at the manor, Tera is upset that she can't vanquish Cirkin herself. But Piper explains that they would need the power of three to do so. Just then, Cirkin shows up to retrieve Tera, bottle in hand. She quickly freezes him, just as Prue and Phoebe rush in. They vanquish the demon, but before he disappears he yells something about her destroying them. Nobody seems to notice that he's looking at Piper.
After the vanquishing, Prue and Phoebe head to the attic to look up the she-demon he alluded to. They have the bottle he left behind and Piper suggests they destroy it. But her sisters veto that idea. Finally Piper gives up and goes to change for the party. She opens the attic door, then slams it shut suddenly. Prue is surprised when she hears Piper calling her name, telling her sister she's dying. But by the time she and Phoebe look up, Piper seems back to normal. She slips out of the attic as they continue to search through the book.
As they flip through the pages, Prue wonders why Phoebe lied to her. Phoebe fesses up, telling her about the historical society and what she found out about Cole. Phoebe still believes in Cole's good side. She obviously has feelings for him, even after all that has happened. But Prue explains that there's no sense separating his good side from his bad since he's already gone. Phoebe doesn't say anything else.
Down in her room, Tera has gotten ready for the party. Her attire has changed, along with her hair and make-up. From the mirror Piper asks for her body back. Now that she's destroyed Cirkin, she tells Tera that they can help her move on, if only she'll leave Piper's body. But the only way for Tera to get out is to kill Piper. And besides, she doesn't want to lose her new power.
Just then, Piper notices Leo appearing behind her. She tells Tera that if her sisters can't figure it out, then her boyfriend Tom will. Tera turns quickly, wondering why she didn't hear the door. And then she makes the mistake of calling him Tom. Leo is obviously surprised. And once she kisses him, he realizes that something is wrong. He asks her his name. Tera is obviously annoyed. She glances over at Piper, then zaps poor Leo, throwing him across the room. Luckily, she doesn't kill him. She just knocks him out for awhile.
As Prue continues to look through the book, Phoebe glances out the attic window, only to spot Piper leaving alone. She finds it strange that Leo's not with her and that she didn't even bother to say goodbye. Her worries are interrupted though, as Prue finally finds the page on the alchemist and his essence. She reads about Cirkin and his powers to bring the dead back to life and about the essence he can create in a bottle. Apparently it takes over its host, slowly killing her soul, and leaves only after the body has died. It can be kept in a bottle, if you catch it as it escapes. Prue suddenly remembers Piper's odd behavior. She now seems to realize that her sister's possessed. She and Phoebe hurry to make a spell that will get Tera out.
Over at P3, Tera is making good use of her body. Much to the surprise of her former classmates she is dancing on top of the bar, looking very different from the Piper that was there just hours before. Prue and Phoebe come rushing in and see what is happening. They hurry their sister back to the alley, then quickly cast the spell before she can stop them. But the spell doesn't work.
Tera explains that she has Cirkin's powers, and those powers combined with Piper's powers make her stronger than them. And in half an hour the true Piper will be dead anyway. Phoebe tries to call Leo, but Tera tells what she did to him. Prue realizes that they need the power of three to vanquish the essence that's residing in Piper. But they don't have that power right now, so instead she tosses Tera into a wall, telling her to get out. Tera obliges and reveals the man whose body she used to inhabit. She pulls the knife out of him, then starts to plunge it into her heart. Prue and Phoebe quickly stop her. Tera smiles then goes back into the club, leaving the knife with them.
Prue and Phoebe follow her in, then try to get her to come home with them. She resists and ends up fighting with them. Prue knocks her out, then enlists Justin's help to carry her sister out to the car, blaming it all on possession. Justin doesn't ask questions.
Back at home, Phoebe wants in on Prue's plan. Prue explains that Tera has Cirkin's powers that she can bring the dead back to life. But Phoebe reminds her that Piper isn't dead. Prue asks for her trust then sends Phoebe up to get Leo.
Once Phoebe is gone, Prue puts the knife up on the mantel then sits down on the couch next to her unconscious sister. As tears come to her eyes she apologizes to Piper, and promises to bring her back no matter what. Then she stands up slowly and gestures towards the knife. It flies through the air, hitting Piper right in the chest. Her eyes open for just a moment and then she is gone.
Leo and Phoebe come rushing in, realizing what's happened. As Leo hurries over to Piper, Prue pulls Phoebe back behind a chair. In obvious anguish, Leo reminds them that he can't heal the dead. He gently pulls the knife out of Piper and the essence leaves her body and enters Leo. Now he can heal her.
Tera is obviously surprised at what Prue has done. Prue holds out the bottle to her, and tells her that if she brings Piper back, they'll let her keep Leo's body. Otherwise they'll kill Leo and suck her back into the bottle. Tera thinks she is bluffing. But Prue explains that Piper's already dead. She has nothing to lose.
Knowing that she's right, Tera brings Piper back. She steals the bottle from Prue then smashes it as the sisters run over to Piper. The three of them read the spell and by the time Tera realizes what's happened, its too late. She is vanquished, and now Leo is free of her.
But as Prue and Phoebe glance down at Piper, they realize that she is bleeding profusely. As she gasps for air, Leo runs over to heal her, returning her to her healthier self. Then he reaches down to hug Piper, holding her close as her sisters look on.
Later that night, Prue, Piper, Phoebe and Leo sit down at P3. Prue's sorry Piper missed her reunion, but Phoebe reminds her that she made quite the impression. It doesn't seem to matter though, because Piper no longer cares what her ex-classmates think. She's rearranged her priorities since her "death." She thanks Leo for realizing what happened and Prue for having the guts to kill her. But she does wonder if Prue could've come up with a better plan. Prue smiles and said that she couldn't.
Finally Phoebe decides to go to the back and call Darryl, to tell him about the businessman's body. Leo follows her just as Justin steps over. He's waiting for the explanation about the "bar brawl." Prue comments on the fact that he waited all that time just to ask her that one question. Piper smiles as Justin blushes. Then Prue tells him she'll explain when he calls her. Piper is surprised. Younger men were not on Prue's list. But Prue just shrugs. What list?
In the back room, Leo finds Phoebe as she hangs up the phone. He asks her if she is okay, but she's still upset that she let Cole seduce her. Piper was taken over by evil, but she fought it the entire time, even as it was killing her. But Phoebe was taken in so easily. Leo assures her that it's all right, that she did the right thing by vanquishing him. And then Phoebe tells him that Cole's still alive...in her heart, she adds slowly. As she wanders back out of the room, Leo turns to watch her go, a suspicious look on his face.
