"I'm being stalked by psycho killers
and I hide in the shower?!"
-Piper
Clasping her
coffee mug in both hands, Piper stares out the front window, watching for
Dan. On the couch, Prue is practicing with her new digital camera and her
sister has suddenly become her subject. As Piper wanders over to examine
her photos, she tells Prue that she feels guilty about breaking up with
Dan. But Prue reminds her that tonight is her first official date with
Leo, in other words, it's time to move on. Piper hurries upstairs to take
a shower and passes Phoebe who is just coming in the door. The youngest
Halliwell sits down to chat with her elder sister. She confesses to having
seen her favorite movie, "Kill It Before It Dies", at the old revival house.
Then she goes on to tell Prue about Billy, the main character, who Phoebe
claims is the perfect man. Unfortunately their
conversation
is interrupted by the doorbell. Phoebe jumps up to answer the door, but
as soon as she opens it, she is thrown back through the hall. Prue leaps
to her feet and tosses her sister's attacker around like a rag doll. The
man, or should I say demon, goes tearing out of the house. Dragging Phoebe
along, Prue races out the door, trying to catch him.
At the old revival
house, Prue and Phoebe see the demon running through the theater. They
aren't quite sure what to do, so Phoebe comes up with an impromptu spell.
Surprisingly it seems to work. The demon has disappeared. Now Prue's biggest
problem is getting Phoebe out of the theater, and away from Billy, her
ideal boyfriend, who stands fifteen feet tall up on the screen.
Back at the
manor the three sisters work to clean up their front hall. Suddenly Piper
realizes that she is late for her dinner with Leo. She hurries over to
the restaurant where
Leo
is waiting and tries to explain what has happened. The date gets off to
a shaky start, but it only gets worse as they spot Dan at the next table
with another woman. After an awkward moment, Piper freezes the restaurant
and she and Leo get ready to toast to their first real date. As luck would
have it though, Leo's bosses decide to take this opportunity to call him
away. Piper unfreezes the restaurant, then kisses Leo goodbye, ever wary
of Dan's watchful eye.
The next morning
Prue discovers that she will be photographing her long time hero, Finley
Beck. She's always admired his work and is eager to meet him. Unfortunately,
he turns out to be an egotistical jerk, who looks down on Prue and her
digital cameras. This clearly isn't the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
At home, Leo
comes to warn Piper and Phoebe about the Demon of Illusion. Apparently,
Phoebe didn't actually vanquish him the previous night. Oops. The three
sisters
quickly return to the revival house, only to find the demon back on the
screen, with Billy. Stranger yet, Billy is able to see them. After the
demon has some choice words with the sisters, Billy tackles him and they
both come flying off of the screen. The demon escapes leaving Billy behind.
Up in the attic,
the Halliwells, along with Leo, try to come up with a plan. Billy explains
that the demon comes into the movies and casts some kind of spell on the
audience in order to make them angry and violent. The trick is he uses
horror movies in order to access an audience that is already susceptible
to his type of magic. Piper, Leo, and Prue agree to check out nearby theaters,
while Phoebe stays behind with Billy. But on the way out the door, Finley
catches them, demanding that Prue show him her photographs. So now Piper
and Leo must visit the theaters alone.
Upstairs, Phoebe is quickly falling for her black and white dream man.
As she tries to cover him with make-up, they chat about the movie versus
the real world. This quickly leads to kissing, which is only interrupted
by a phone call from Darryl, informing them of trouble at a nearby theater.
Down in the
basement, Prue is trying to work with Finley. But as she does, she begins
to understand that there is no pleasing Mr. Nasty Photographer Guy. Finally,
she gives up and sends him packing. She takes one last picture of him as
he goes up the stairs and smiles as she blinds him with the flash.
Meanwhile, at
one of the theaters, Piper and Leo meet up with the Demon of Illusion.
He sends Bloody Mary, a white pasty hag with a knife, off the screen after
them. As the scary woman comes at them, Piper discovers in a hurry that
her powers don't work on movie characters. She and Leo wisely run for the
door.
Back in the
basement, an ax murderer from yet another movie attacks Prue. She heads
up to the attic where she finds Phoebe and Billy kissing once more. Their
little love connection will have to be interrupted though, since the ax
murderer is on his way up. They scream as he bursts into the room, swinging
his ax at them. They are saved by Piper who takes him out with a long piece
of wood. Unfortunately, this doesn't kill the ax murderer. It only makes
him angrier. The small group runs back down the stairs only to meet up
with Bloody Mary. They scream and scatter around the house.
Piper, in all
her wisdom, decides to hide in the shower. When someone else enters the
bathroom, she is terrified, but quickly realizes that the shadow behind
the curtain is her equally terrified sister, Prue. But Bloody Mary is right
behind her. The two girls run back
into
the hall where they meet up with Phoebe, Billy and the ax murderer. Billy
attacks the ax murderer and finds that the movie characters cannot hurt
him. This gives the sisters a chance to regroup up in the attic.
As they try
to come up with a plan, Phoebe explains that the characters only know how
to do what was written for them. They can only die in the same way
that they died in the movie. Phoebe's theory proves to be true and they
hurriedly dispose of Bloody Mary by shoving her through a window. The ax
murderer meets his demise a little later, after a harsh experience with
a heater and a bucket of water. Fried ax murderer, anyone?
Later that evening
the Halliwells and Billy return to the revival house to find the Demon
of Illusion. Phoebe has created a potion that will allow them to enter
the movie in
order
to vanquish the demon. Billy, Phoebe, and Piper leap up onto the big screen,
but Prue's own entrance is thwarted by an attack from a vicious movie patron
who has fallen under the demon's spell. Prue quickly takes care of him
with one swift arm motion, but as she does the movie starts to end. Piper
and Phoebe are trapped in the film and now it is fading to black.
As Piper and
Phoebe yell from the darkened screen, Prue astral projects up into the
film room and manages to reverse the projector. Piper and Phoebe leap back
into the real world, but still the Demon of Illusion is there, up on the
screen. Even as he gloats though, Prue is forming a plan. She motions towards
the projector switch and the movie suddenly stops. The film burns and the
demon is destroyed. But the hardest part is still to come because now Phoebe
must say goodbye to Billy.
The next day
Piper and Leo are finally getting a little time to relax. But then Dan
shows
up to return Piper's stuff. He finally seems to have grasped the fact that
the relationship is over. As he is leaving, Prue is arriving, and she and
her sisters gather in the living room with Leo. Prue announces that her
editor loved her picture of Finley. And in order to spread her joy just
a little further, she hands over a copy of "Kill It Before It Dies" to
Phoebe. The youngest Halliwell rushes upstairs and watches the video from
her bed, gazing in wonder at her perfect man she left behind in the movies.
