It's chaos at
the Halliwell manor, and not because of a demon. Prue and Piper are running
around
trying
to find Piperís plane ticket. Phoebe however, is meditating on the table.
She picks up a number of objects, and seems frustrated that nothing is
happening. She then picks up Piperís plane ticket- and gets a premonition
of Piper missing her flight. She tells her sisters that her power has grown-
she called a premonition on by command. That's the good news, the bad news
is that she saw Piper missing her flight. Piper is hosting a convention
in Hawaii, and can't be late. It doesn't worry Prue; after all they can
affect the outcome of Phoebe's premonitions. We also learn that Prue's
job is hanging by a thread due to all the "family emergencies". Piper
has forgotten to do so many things- but Prue just tells her not to worry,
Phoebe can do it because she has time. Piper
is
worried about leaving her sisters alone, not just because they don't get
along but in case there are any demons around that need the power of three
to defeat them. She is told not to worry, and is dragged out the door by
Prue.
Phoebe is given
a long list of things for her to do. She gets a phone call from her friend
Marianne, and it turns out that they had planned a trip to Alcatraz later
that day. Phoebe abandons the list and decides to go.
In a cell on
Alcatraz, a floating ghost like woman is talking to a ghost. His name is
Jackson and he has been trapped on the island for 36 years- ever since
he was executed there. He wants to take
revenge,
and the woman is more than happy to oblige. It turns out that this woman
ferries souls to hell, and she wants a witch's. In return for a ticket
off the island- Jackson is to provide her with one. The only way a witch
can kill him is if they are made vulnerable to this woman.
The tour passes
by, the one with Phoebe in it. The tour guide stops at the cell Jackson
and the mysterious woman are in, and he steps inside. The woman kills the
guide. The only person who can see the ghosts is Phoebe, as she is a witch.
As Phoebe watches helplessly, Jackson climbs into the man's body, and the
woman disappears, promising to be back. Later on, the man's body
is taken off
the
island by the coronerÖ
At Bucklands,
Prue is in the middle of a meeting with Claire. She tells Prue that she
is unhappy with the number of family emergencies that Prue has been having,
and she wants it to stop. Some buyers will be arriving in a few days- and
if Prue doesn't make a good impression, she will lose her job. Suddenly,
Prue's assistant interrupts them. Phoebe is on the phone with an important
family emergency. Prue answers the phone and listens to Phoebe's explanation
of the ghost. Phoebe makes an excuse that her friend saw the ghost, because
Phoebe was supposed to be at the market shopping for groceries. Phoebe
has found that some spirits need a dead body to ferry them across water.
Prue
hangs
up, making a lame excuse to Claire about why her sister phoned.
Morris tells
Andy that there are some files missing- but Andy can offer no explanation
to where they have gone. Morris asks Andy what has been going one- but
Andy refuses to tell him. A woman approaches- and says that she has a "freaky
case" for them to deal with. Across town, a man was stabbed many times,
the only evidence being the knife that was left behind. There was a fingerprint
left on the knife- but they didn't get it by dusting- they got it by fluroscoping,
florescent fingerprints, which technically don't exist. And the biggest
thing, it matches Jackson Ward's, the last man to be killed at Alcatraz.
Andy takes the file and runs off.
At the manor,
Prue comes home to find that Phoebe hasn't done any of the jobs that she
was
supposed
to have taken care of today. Phoebe has been busy researching the ghost.
There is a knock at the door. It is Andy. Prue tells him that she didn't
think that she would ever see him again, and asks if he accepts her life.
He avoids the question, and tells Prue and Phoebe about the murder victim
from earlier, the son of a former D.A. that was killed. He tells them about
the fingerprint, and Phoebe guesses that it belongs to Jackson Ward (she
has been doing research) and she also tells Andy that the print was probably
left by the ghosts ectoplasm- a ghost's skin. Andy shows her the picture
of Jackson, and she recognizes him as the ghost from earlier (she makes
yet another excuse to Prue). The connection between Jackson and the victim?
He was the son of the D.A. that sent him down. No one knows exactly what
to do.
Judge Renault
is working in his office when Jackson shows up and kills him. The
woman from earlier appears, and Jackson tells her that he is only just
beginningÖ
The next day,
the police are examining the body of the judge. Andy gets the knife and
discovers a fingerprint like earlier on it. He asks Morris to build a list
of potential victims, including the people that were present when Jackson
Ward was sentenced and their descendants.
The buyers have
arrived at Bucklands, but Prue is nowhere to be seen. She eventually gets
there, but is followed by Andy who drags her out. He tells her about the
second killing.
At the manor,
Phoebe is busy looking through the BoS. Andy and Prue arrive and ask how
things have been going. Phoebe hasn't been able to find anything. The only
spell she has found has
to
be said by a spirit, which means one of them would have to die to say it.
The book starts to flip and lands on the truth spell that Prue used earlier.
Phoebe wants Prue to tell Andy what she did, and reluctantly, she does.
He freaks out, wondering if that was why they broke up. Prue never gave
him enough time to come to terms with her secret. Phoebe comes down, and
tells them that they need to discover the next victim and can do by using
her power.
Andy checks
out the murder weapon, and when he leaves, the guard gets on the phone.
It turns out that someone is spying on Andy. Andy goes to Morris and takes
the list that he has started. Without an explanation, he runs off. Two
men approach Morris. They are from Internal Affairs.
In the car,
Phoebe uses her power to determine who the next victim will be. She looks
through
the
file and finds one woman, Iris Betamen, the foreperson on the jury that
convicted Jackson. Phoebe's vision starts to come true. Jackson is about
to stab the woman when Andy, Prue and Phoebe burst in. A fight ensues and
Prue manages to get the knife. Jackson lets it slip that he saw Phoebe
earlier and then disappears.
At the manor,
Prue shouts at Phoebe for not telling her the truth. They get into a fight
and Phoebe tells Prue that they only reason she is mad at her is because
she doesn't have a job, and that Prue doesn't appreciate all the work Phoebe
does around the house. Prue does admit that she has a problem and then
the phone rings. Its Piper, phoning to check up on her sisters. Phoebe
doesn't tell her about Jackson, and finishes the call. Prue and Phoebe
reach a compromise.
Andy tells Iris
that she isn't the only one who saw what was happening earlier and that
she isn't
going
mad, but that she should keep things quiet. She is taken to a hotel and
Morris arrives. He is angry that Andy isn't telling him the whole story
and he tells Andy about the I.A. guys.
At the manor,
Prue and Phoebe have found a spell to lure an evil spirit. It involves
throwing a mixture over Jackson's grave. Phoebe found out where it is from
her research. The only problem is as soon as they cast it Jackson will
be coming after them. They go to the cemetery and both are scared. They
leave a picture of themselves with their address on his grave, throw the
potion on in and run.
Jackson is about
to kill again when he starts to burn. The woman appears and tells him to
visit his grave. Andy takes Prue's file and as he is walking he is stopped
by the I.A. guys and taken
away
for questioning. He is asked why he has so many unsolved cases, and why
his work is going downhill. They took pictures of him checking out the
weapon, and ask why he had to do so. They ask if he has been covering for
someone, and they lean closer toward his bag where Prue's file has been
hidden. Andy dares them to charge him, and when they don't, he walks out.
At the manor,
Prue is mixing a potion. It will kill someone in an instant by stopping
the heart. The victim can be revived with CPR, but it must be done within
four minutes. Phoebe is against the idea of Prue taking the potion, but
Prue won't have it any other way. She has complete confidence in her sister.
They realize that they miss Piper- and need her to act as the swing vote,
the voice of reason.
Prue apologizes
for earlier, and so does Phoebe. Claire phones, and leaves a message, firing
Prue. Suddenly Jackson appears. As Prue drinks the potion, Phoebe goes
one on one with Jackson. She gets knocked out, and Jackson picks up a knife
to kill the both of them. Prue's spirit rises and she starts to chant the
spell. Andy arrives, and catches a glimpse of the unconscious Phoebe. He
runs into the kitchen, and since he can't see Jackson or Prue's spirit-
he starts CPR. Jackson tries to kill him, but Prue shouts out and Andy
somehow hears her. Prue finishes the spell and the woman from earlier arrives
and takes Jackson's spirit away. Andy completes the CPR and both she and
Phoebe wake up.
At Bucklands,
Claire won't give Prue her job back. Andy arrives and covers for Prue,
telling Claire that Prue had been helping the police with an Asian gang
that's been smuggling antiques. Claire gives Prue back her job. In Prue's
office, Andy admits that he can't handle demons and wants a normal life.
Prue understands and the two hug.
At the manor,
Prue and Phoebe arrive home, having completed the shopping. Prue burned
her file and is now slightly safer. Phoebe wonders how Andy heard Prue's
warning. Piper comes home, and is told that nothing happened while she
was awayÖ
