Blind Sided
The Charmed ones
are attending a kid's birthday party at the park. Piper tells Prue and
Phoebe that Josh called and he wants to talk. It can mean only one thing-
the talk. The talk that every couple needs to have before having sex with
each other. Piper is scared, as sex equals a relationship, and she's not
sure if she is ready for one, since her experience with Leo.
It turns out
that Piper is hosting this party for free, as a favor to their fried Dee,
for her son David. Prue is called to work so she leaves. David is playing
with friends and he goes to fetch a stray ball. He hears the sound of a
kitten, so he goes to investigate. A strange creature jumps out and grabs
him. Prue passes by, and sees what is happening. She raises her hands to
ready herself for a fight, and accidentally lifts both David and the demon
into mid air. She is shocked, as this is the first time she has ever been
able to do this. She drops them both, and the demon grabs David and runs
off. Unbeknownst to Prue- a jogger has witnessed these events, all of it.
Prue gives chase to the demon,
but arrives just after it has disappeared into a hole in the ground. Prue
is left alone.
Dee is extremely
upset and Piper tries to comfort her. Prue and Phoebe are talking. It turns
out that David was not the first boy to be taken. In the same park, another
boy had been taken the day before and the same thing happened 20 years
ago. Prue blames herself for what happened. Phoebe tells her that it wasn't
her fault and that she should be happy that her power has grown and she
no longer needs to squint her eyes.
Piper joins
them and is upset that she can't tell Dee what they are doing. Prue gets
a call, she had forgotten that she was needed at Bucklands. Phoebe hangs
up and Prue leaves. As she does so, the jogger from earlier looks at her.
In the sewers,
the demons have another boy locked up. There are two demons, and they have
David pinned to the floor. The creatures hold their hands over his eyes.
Blue sparks hit his face and their eyes start to glow. When it is over,
David has been blinded.
At the manor,
Phoebe is looking on the net as Piper looks through the BoS. Piper has
found nothing about creatures with whirling eyes. Phoebe has been looking
at the case 20 years ago. One boy was never found, but one was. His name
is Brent Miller. Piper makes a care package for Dee, as Phoebe explains
that Brent was found roaming the streets, blind. The official story was
that he caught a parasite, but it obviously had something to do with demons.
Phoebe wants to go and find Brent Miller.
Meanwhile, at
Bucklands, the jogger walks into Prue's office, and introduces himself
as Eric Lowman, from the Bay Weekly. A journalist. He is covering a story
on magic, and wants to interview Prue. He tells her that he saw what she
did earlier. Prue denies everything, and wants him to leave but he does
not. He checked her out, and has found that her name keeps appearing in
police records. He tries to trick her into using her power by dropping
a glass bowl. She lets it smash, to his disappointment. Prue tries to call
security, but Lowman hangs up the phone and delivers an ultimatum. He will
write the story either way, but he can either make Prue look like the devil
incarnate or wonder woman. Lowman leaves Prue with a worried look on her
face.
At Brent Miller's
penthouse, Phoebe arrives. She tries to talk to Brent about the monsters
that took him, but he clams up and gets his maid to escort her out. Phoebe
refuses to leave, telling Brent that it is happening again. His mood changes,
and he lets her stay. He wonders why she believes his story, and she says
it is because she has seen her few share of monsters. He describes the
experience of how they stole his sight, but he doesn't know why. All he
can remember is that they mentioned auras.
Outside a charity
event, the demons watch the people outside. They notice one man giving
off an orange glow. They begin to choke the air, and as they do so, the
man chokes to death.
Piper has found
the demons in the BoS. They are called Grimlocks. They live underground,
and feed off the auras of good people. They can only do this by stealing
the sight of children. The children have to survive for twenty-four hours
for their sight to remain. The only way to kill them is by using a potion
made from shashandra root.
Prue arrives
home and tells Piper and Phoebe about her run in with Lowman. He has no
proof, but the charmed ones can't afford to be exposed. Piper is going
to go to Josh to see if he has a map of the storm drains, Phoebe is going
to talk to Brent again, which leaves Prue to get the root.
Andy and Morris
are investigating the murder of the man from earlier. Lowman arrives so
Morris quickly leaves. Lowman talks to Andy about Prue, and then goes on
to tell him about her powers. He also mentions the kidnappings, but a shocked
Andy denies everything. Lowman threatens to change his story to a police
cover up, and then leaves as Morris returns. Andy assigns himself to the
kidnappings.
Josh has a map
for Piper. She tells him that she has a client thinking of throwing a theme
party in the storm drain. He tries to talk, but she doesn't let him finish.
She starts going on about precautions, but he looks confused. He wanted
to talk about the fact that he has been offered a job in Beverly Hills,
and wants Piper to tell him if he should stay or go. She freezes him, and
begins to understand that if he stays then they are a couple, but if he
goes and they could have been a good couple... She can't decide, so she
calls him on her cell phone, unfreezes him and leaves when he answers,
taking the map with her.
Phoebe is talking
to Brent about his experience, but all he can remember is a number of pipes.
She is disappointed, and he notices this. She apologizes and touches his
knee to reassure him. She gets a premonition of the day he was kidnapped.
She describes it to Brent, and it triggers his memory. He heard something
like a generator, and possibly cable cars. They look on a map to find either
a power station or a cable car turn-around, and they find what they are
looking for. Brent describes how he is reading the map and the two get
close. Phoebe starts to leave, as Brent asks if she is a psychic. She makes
an excuse and leaves. Brent is worried about her.
Andy arrives
at Prue's office. He mentions his conversation with Lowman, and tells her
that he believes him. Prue can't tell him, so Andy starts to leave. The
two reminisce for a moment, and Andy leaves telling Prue to watch her back.
Later, Phoebe finds the entrance to the storm drain.
Outside the
manor, Prue and Piper are talking, Prue having gotten the root. They talk
about Andy. Just then Piper sees that a buggy is heading into the path
of a truck. Piper freezes it, and the two investigate. There's nothing
in it. They see Lowman behind the bushes filming them (he is frozen) and
they realize that it is a set-up. They get back into positions as time
unfreezes. They go inside as Lowman examines the tape. He can't see anything
strange until he notices that Piper's purse jumps from her left shoulder
to her right shoulder.
Phoebe arrives
home and is told about Lowman. She wonders how they can proceed with him
following them. As if by clockwork, there is a knock at the door. Its Lowman,
who tries to get in. He tells them what he saw on the tape, and guesses
that one of them can stop time. He has hidden the tape, and now wants a
tell all exclusive, and has big plans for the future including a book and
a movie. Prue kicks him out. The plan is for Piper and Phoebe to go to
the boys, and Prue will stay and finish the potion. If anything happens,
Piper should just keep on freezing the Grimlocks until Prue arrives.
While Piper
and Phoebe go out the back, Prue goes out the front. She manages to distract
Lowman long enough for her sisters to get into Piper's car. Lowman tries
to give chase, but Prue slashes his tire by using her power.
Piper and Phoebe
have arrived at the storm drain. As they walk through the darkened corridors,
Phoebe notices a pipe junction up ahead so they head towards that.
Andy arrives
at Brent Miller's house, and asks him if a Prue Halliwell has been to see
him. He confesses that Phoebe has been to see him, and goes on to tell
Andy where she went.
In the sewer,
Phoebe sees a sign that she saw in her premonition earlier. Piper spots
a rat, and backs away. She falls into an open drain and gets knocked out.
Phoebe covers the drain and runs out to get help.
At the manor,
Prue has just finished mixing the potion when she gets a call from Phoebe
saying that Piper needs help. Prue grabs the potions (two jars of green
liquid) and runs outside. When she gets to her car she finds out that Lowman
has taken a piece from it, so she can no longer drive. She has no choice
but to confess that she is a witch (he tapes her confession), as Piper
needs her. Lowman fixes the car and they drive off together. They arrive
at the drain and are met by Phoebe. Lowman is told to stay there for the
time being, and he agrees that he will. However, he follows Prue and Phoebe
in a few moments later.
A Grimlock hears
a groggy Piper calling for Phoebe, and he starts to choke her. Phoebe and
Prue arrive just in time. Prue uses her power to make a pole fly into the
Grimlockís head, throwing him away from Piper.
Outside, Andy
pulls up. Lowman is busy showing off to his camera when a Grimlock approaches
him. Prue uses her power to lift Piper out of the drain, and they carry
her outside to safety. Andy discovers Lowmanís dead body, as a Grimlock
attacks him, almost killing him. Prue manages to save him, but in doing
so, she reveals her and her sister's secret. Andy helps Piper out, and
Prue picks up the tape of her confession. Prue and Phoebe run to get the
boysí. They bump into a Grimlock and kill it using a potion. They get to
the boys, just as a Grimlock starts to choke Prue, who drops the last potion.
Phoebe saves her sister by hitting the Grimlock over the head, and starts
to get choked herself. Prue uses her power to make the spilt potion hit
the Grimlock, killing him. They get the boys (who are no longer blinded),
however they now know about Prue's powers.
At the station,
Andy lies to Morris, telling him a cover story asking him to believe what
he is told for now. Prue, Piper and Phoebe are also there. In the drain
when she was hurt, Piper was thinking of Leo. She realizes that if she
was thinking of Leo, then she certainly wasn't thinking about Josh, so
she decided to tell him to leave for his job. Brent arrives, and he is
also no longer blind. He thanks Phoebe, and decides to tell the boys to
keep quiet. Andy and Prue start to talk, but are interrupted by reporters.
