Here in lies the GURPS pages that I have worked on for the last several months. You will find two campaign universes. They are the Terran Axis and the Terran Confederacy.
The Terran Axis is a multistellar human government that has just recently fought a massive war. The setting has Earth in shambles and the rest of humanity and her allies (and conquests) rebuilding and exploring the edges of known space. Axis space is approximately 100 LY by 80 LY of explored worlds and scouts have pushed about 20 LY beyond that in every direction. This encompases almost 7000 star systems in a 3 dimensional sphere. As you can tell by the name the government while originally an Alliance type interstellar state has hardened and may possibly finalize it's transformation into an Empire. Several alien races have been located / asimilated and in some cases conquered.
The Terran Confederation is similar but has not had to fight major wars and is much looser in terms of government. Just after the turn of the 21st century there were terrible wars and eventually the people of first the US and then the world got sick of collectivism as a whole. They have made great gains in technology but especially in nano-tech, biological engineering and computers. Adventuring here is an interesting gamble because exploration is extremely deadly to hyperdrive astrogators that fail. Very few alien species have been located, but 3 worlds have been found in the Terran 'Pocket ' that had human life forms on them. No one knows how or why and this is one of the great mysteries of the Confederation.
