RE: Makeover # 480

Model 480's expression as she finally finds herself with a buzz cut is priceless and a wonderful relief after the emotional stress she endured at the beginning of her makeover. Once again we are presented with a classic example of how much more attractive a young woman can look with a simple buzz cut compared with a rather unflattering and unmanageable long hair style.

Congratulation to her for her brave decision. And may she enjoy a new outlook with a very flattering buzz that enhances her attractiveness.

RE: makeover # 317

What a cute haircut this is turning out to be! Love the feminine touch of the wispy sideburns and wispy nape. Beautiful lady

RE: makeover # 317

I send a message about makeover #317 before. But, was hoping to get a reply back. I am curious if there is a reason why the lady in this makeover ends up with an odd-looking mullet (longer whisps of hair hanging from a short clippered back; along with longer whisps of hairs hanging off short clippered sides. I understand the concept of trying to keep the short haircut feminine; but in this case, this unusual addition doesnt seem to match/belong with the rest of the haircut. Cutting off the extra whisps of hairs from the back and sideburns will give an overall more appealing and balanced short hairstyle thats still very sexy and feminine. Anyway, just my 2 cents.
M.A.

Comment from The Catwalk:
Your message was posted on September 21st just when the 2nd part started. -still viewable ever since in the letters archive.
We didn't identify any question so we are a bit puzzled why you hoped to get a reply back. Let us first publish your first messager again and then we will respond right after

I remember when the modem from #317 cut her long hair off for the first time. She is one of my favorites. One thing that always bothered me with the end result with the first makeover was the rooster-tail and longer sideburns left behind. I understand the whole concept of keeping these little uneven longer hairs to give it a more feminine look, but it just doesnt look right in my opinion on her. Im not suggesting an extreme "enthusiast-style shaved-to-nothing fade" (although, that would be nice to see), but, at least cut it evenly making it look look neater; buzzing it a little bit and clean it up near the hairline at the back.Thank you for your wonder website!

(1) Catwalk's main principle and priority is to make sure that the model has a complete say in the haircut she will get.
We are talking about volunteer models, not models getting paid to cut their hair in the way you or anyone else would like to see it. It's the model's hair and looks at stake.

(2) Catwalk and the top professional stylists we assign will only accept a model and her choice if we are sure it will suit her.

(3) The stylist at work on model # 317 is not a 5 cents stylist. She is not cutting an 'odd-looking mullet' as you say. She is a $120/haircut main stylist we pay from our own money and she is definitely performing a tremendous and difficult to cut hairstyle in a very professionial way.

(4) We appreciate not everyone likes ALL the styles we have published over the years: From long to shoulderlength - bobs of all kinds and lengths - chinlengths - stylish shortcuts - assymetric styles - very short haircuts of all kinds - extreme short haircuts - boyish haircuts- buzz cuts of all lengths - mohawks - flat tops - high and tights - clipper shaves - to headshaves and wet headshaves.

(5) Last but not least, the haircut #317 is not finished yet...

RE: makeover # 317

I was wondering when you will post the final shots of Makeover 317. My wife is getting her haircut like that in 2 weeks and would like a final pic. Thanks
HS

Comment from The Catwalk:
We couldn't possibly tell . Our planning usually does not go beyond the next day. Having said that, the basic and distintive shape of the # 317 haircut is already clearly showing. Any trained stylist does not require to see more of the finishing to get started.

RE: makeovers

Dear Catwalk, I've been visiting and appreciating your site dayly since the beginning. Today, I have read of somebody complaining about the lenght of makeover 480 and I absoulutely do not agree with the tone but I'd like to draw your attention on a question I myself make often - Wouldn't it be better if you reduced the number of pics of every makeover? The reason is very simple, because it seems you are now producing much more makeovers than you will ever be able to publish on your site. And, I think I have the support of all visitors here about this, we WANNA SEE THEM ALL! Thanks Catwalk for your unique contribution to the world of hair.
R. IT

Comment from The Catwalk:
Thanks for your support and interesting comment.
As you can imagine, your suggestion is not a new one. Over the years, some visitors hinted us to limit the number of pictures per makeover to say seven to ten parts, the equivalent of seventy to a hundered pictures. Each time such a suggestion was made, several people encouraged us to do so while even more begged us not to reduce the number of pictures. By the way, today's reactions are not different to the past as you will read further on.
In an attempt to keep both worlds happy, we introduced, alongside the full versions, the so called 'extended preview' version, limited to 13 to 18 parts only. Over the years ,on top of the 193 'full versions' we published seventy one (71) 'extended preview' versions with a lesser scope. To be noted that on several occassions people complained that we did not show more...
A couple of online surveys over the years confirmed us that the vast majority of people did not want us to change our format. It is very tempting to change when 5 or 6 people suggest to do so. However, we always keep in mind that there are still several thousands of other daily visitors who seem less concerned or, alternatively want to see the maximum number of pictures.

RE: makeovers

I enjoy seeing every aspect of the makerovers and understand they take time to complete and I appreciate all the work you put into this site without any fees from us as viewers. Keep running this how you feel fit and keep up the good work!

RE: makeover # 480

Congratulations Catwalk. This is an absolutely stunning makeover.
I for one would very much like to see every single snip and buzz you captured with your cameras.

RE: makeover # 457

WOW!! Makeover #457 looks like a sure fire winner. Ther's nothing better than seeing the clippers do their work on a head of beautifully bleached hair that has grown out and has dark roots showing. The contrasts are amazing. I can hardly wait.

RE: makeover # 450

Just curious. Who is doing the clippering? In an earlier part the barber was standing in the background. I expect that she will look much better without her hair. With no hair to hide behind, the features of many women actually become much more attractive. A tight ponytail often reveals this effect, but it is when they become bald that the effect is most striking.
RBM, USA

Comment from The Catwalk:
Well spotted. The clippering and wet shaving is done by the assistant of the barber. He asked her a dozen times if she was sure of cutting and shaving all her hair off. Undoubtedly the most exciting haircut ever for him and her..
