Characters:
Max- Max is settling down and ready for a vacation.
Metalla- Standing at his side is Max's wife Metalla, making sure the entire planet runs smoothly.
Ron- Ron lives in Fox City where he runs his parent's club very well.
Tails Jr.- Now up on the spaceship, T.J. has made sure that nothing happens to this spaceship.
Steve- Steve works down on the ground with James, even with just the two of them, they've managed to come up with some cool ideas, and have found some old secretes.
Fists- Fists has headed back to the Floating Island to run the command base that's there and to make sure the emeralds aren't stolen.
Kari- Kari is still her usually self, making sure the gate is protected.
Nate Gage- With his new ability, Nate has learned a new level of responsibility; yeah…Nate whenever he can is always showing off to Kari.
Ariana- Ariana has settled down in the city and is planning on teaching her sister some of the knowledge she knows.
Kat- Kat is still Kat, she's still perky and always looking for new things to do.
James- James works closely with Steve; both of them are about to discover an extremely important secret.
Coll- Max's first son is about 5 years old, although he's completely different from what Max and Metalla expected.
And now onto the feature presentation of: Max the Hedgehog In: Double Trouble
Timeline: 5 years after The Final Fight, The Final Battle, The End of Everything.
Max stepped out into the fresh air on his balcony off of his room. He looked into the sky to see the rising sun. As he stood there he thought about the son he would soon be having and what new adventures he could have with him now that O'Cloral was now sealed away for good.
Metalla walked out onto the balcony with Max and leaned on his shoulder, “What are you thinking about honey?”
“Just what our second son will look like,” Max said.
“I'm sure he'll look just like you,” Metalla said.
“Yeah runs in the family,” Max said.
Metalla decided to change the subject, “So do you know what James and Steve are working on?”
“Not really, I know that T.J. is coming down here more and more, so something is going to happen soon,” Max said, “I just hope it isn't like the last time they had a big invention.”
“Yes, I'm still getting that purple goo out of my hairdryer,” Metalla said as she remembered the invention that was suppose to make a hairdryer more environmental friendly and better.
The planet of Mobius had really grown since Max and the others fought Maræos for the first time. The planet had nearly tripled in population and people were living better. Cities were coming up, and to make sure they didn't end up polluting the planet, the planet agreed to set extremely high environmental laws.
“Maybe you should go down and check up on them,” Metalla said.
“Good idea,” Max said, “You going to be ok?”
“I'll be fine,” Metalla said.
“If your sure,” Max said as he walked out of the room.
Meanwhile over in Fox City, Ron was operating the club with Metal at his side. Metal had really changed since he was derobotosized. He didn't look exactly like Sonic; he resembled a guy named Shadow that Boomerang said he once saw when he played a video game on Earth called Sonic Adventure 2.
“Looks like the crowd is really picking up,” Metal said as he dried off one of the glasses. For someone that had only been flesh for five years, Metal was really getting the hang of it.
“Yeah business is doing really good,” Ron said.
Coll suddenly came walking into the room. He was Max's first son, however he wasn't blue, but normal color, he didn't show any signs of power either. Even with the sad turn of events, Max still loved him.
Metal walked down to great the young hedgehog.
“Hello Coll, what are you doing down here by yourself?” Metal asked.
Coll really didn't like Metal, he thought he looked a little too creepy, but he decided to answer, “Dad said that I could come down here.”
Shadow didn't believe the young hedgehog so he tried to sneak it out of him, “So how'd you get here?”
“Aunt Sara brought me down,” Coll said.
Ron walked over to the two, “Hey Coll, I hear Sara was here.”
“Yeah,” Coll said.
Just then Sara walked into the club, she had changed too, her new found power had given her respect with the people and many of them were proud of the work she was doing to help keep the planet protected.
“Hey Sara,” Ron said.
“Hey guys, Coll I thought I asked you to wait outside,” Sara said.
“Sorry Aunt Sara,” Coll said.
“Don't worry about it,” Sara said.
“So what brings you down here?” Metal asked.
“I'm looking for Kat and Ariana, I heard they were down here,” Sara said.
“Why, what's going on?” Ron asked.
“Steve and James are at it again with a new invention, Metalla is extremely worried this time, they have to keep calling T.J. down from the ship,” Sara said.
“Why does Metalla need to worry, I don't think anything is going to go wrong,” Ron said.
“You haven't heard what those two are doing then have you?” Sara asked.
“No we haven't,” Metal said.
“No one has, T.J. is the only one that knows what's going on, but he's so busy trying to run that station he can't talk,” Sara said, “I'm down here to see if Kat and Ariana would mind helping him a bit.”
“No problem at all,” Kat said appearing suddenly.
“Kat, when did you come in, we didn't see you,” Metal said.
“I came in with that huge crowd,” she said.
“Where's Ariana?” Sara asked.
“She's sleeping,” Kat said, she suddenly noticed Coll, “Oh, I see my little second cousins down here.”
Sara let out a giggle, “Yeah he wanted to come down here with me so I let him.”
The phone rang and Ron went off to answer it. When he came back he had a different look on his face.
“What's wrong?” Sara said.
“Metalla just called, she would like us to come down there,” Ron said.
“What's wrong?” Sara said.
“I don't know, that's my sister for you, doesn't give you the details until you're there,” Ron said, “Come on we'll take my car.”
The group left the club, leaving one of the staff members in charge. They got into the cars and drove off.
Meanwhile in one of the labs Steve and James had brought T.J., Timber, and Sam down into the room.
“You guys are insane, don't you know what can happen?” Timber said.
“Yes, there's a lot of things that can go wrong,” Sam said.
“I'm done helping you two with this, its too much,” T.J. said.
“Trust me guys, this is going to work out great,” James said.
“Someone better tell me what's going on before I put a stop to this myself,” Max said walking into the room with a stern face.
“Max! We didn't hear you come in,” Steve said.
“Yes, I made sure of that,” Max said making them notice he had taken off his shoes, “Now do you mind telling me what's going on down here?”
Steve looked at Max and then picked up a glass tube, “Me and James have been working a special material that will allow us to regrow lost tissue cells by using DNA.”
Max was shocked by what Steve had said, “It is a great idea you two, but do you know the negative effects of this?”
“There shouldn't be any negative effects,” James said.
“What if the tissue is off, it could cause mutations in people or it could make them sick, did you two ever think of that?” Max said.
“Yes, and where would we store all this DNA and tissue parts,” Timber said.
“We didn't think of that,” James said.
“I didn't think so,” Max said, then he noticed ten tubes sitting off to the side, each had a liquid in them, “What are those?”
“Those are our first trials, they contain the DNA of myself, you, T.J., Fists, Ron, Metalla, Kat, Ariana, Sara, and Metal,” Steve said.
“What!” Max said.
“Don't worry Max, nothing will happen to them, they won't grow or anything, they need the tube Steve is holding to make them grow,” James said.
Steve walked over to the tubes and set it on another rack away from the others.
Max had enough, “Alright guys, out of here, I'm closing this project down, and I want this room sealed shut.”
“But Max…” Steve said starting to protest.
“No buts, come on let's go,” Max said as he led everyone out and then shut the door, “I don't want anyone in here until I can get the door sealed, ok?”
“Yes sir,” James said with a bit of depression in his voice.
Meanwhile the group had gathered with Metalla.
“So what's up?” Ron said.
Sara had been carrying Coll, but set him down on the ground, he walked off into another room.
“I just talked to Max over the intercom, he's shut down what James and Steve were up to,” Metalla said.
“What were they up to?” Ron asked.
“Tissue replication,” Max said walking into the room, “Ron, think you can seal the door shut?”
“Sure, no problem,” Ron said showing off some fire on the tip of his finger.
“Where are the others?” Metal asked.
“They've gone off to one of the workshops to work on an approved project,” Max said.
“Which is?” Sara asked.
“They're going to work on ways to fix up the space station,” Max said.
Suddenly a gateway opened up and two figures stepped out.
“Hello everyone!” one of the voices said.
“Well look who decided to come back,” Max said, “Hello D, Boomerang.”
“Hi guys,” Sailor D said transforming back into Kari.
Boomerang instantly turned into his fox form.
“So how's Coll doing?” Kari asked.
Max let out a sigh; “He's still not showing any signs of power.”
“But he is showing signs of awesome intelligence,” Metalla said.
“Well you never know he just might invent something that could help everyone,” Kari said.
“Speaking of Coll, were did the little runt take off to?” Sara said.
“I saw him walk that way,” Kat said pointing off to the room.
“I'll go get him,” Ariana said as she took off.
Coll meanwhile has exploring the basement floor of the place. He always wanted to see the place his dad called the labs. He had looked through every room, except one that had the door shut.
“Must be something cool behind it,” he said as he tried to reach for the door handle, he was too short though so he looked around for something to help him. He found a chair and pushed it in front of the door. He climbed up and opened the door. He got down and moved the chair; he walked into the room. He looked around, the lights were on, but no one was in the room.
“Hello?” he called out.
A piece of wood creaked and Coll was startled, he rammed into the door causing it to shut.
“Oh no, I'm trapped!” he said looking around for something to help him get out.
Ariana had come back to the group.
“Any luck?” Max asked.
“No, I can't find him and I've looked all over this floor, he couldn't have gotten away that fast,” Ariana said.
“Maybe he's gone upstairs,” Kat said.
“I'll go check,” Ron said walking off.
“I don't have a good feeling about this,” Timber said.
“Neither do I,” James said.
Meanwhile down in the lab, Coll had found a chair; the only problem was it was wedged up against the table.
“I've got to move this,” Coll said as he began tugging on the chair. He pulled with everything he had until the chair came flying out from under the table and rammed into the counter causing tubes to fall over and a lamp to knock over and break, “Uh oh, I'd better go tell dad about this.”
He quickly pulled the chair over to the door and opened it enough to get through. He got down and moved the chair out of the way and walked out the door and back upstairs.
“No sign of him,” Ron said coming back.
Suddenly Coll came walking into the room, “Daddy!”
Max looked at him, “What is it Coll?”
“I was down in some room and these glass things feel over and broke,” he said.
James and Steve looked at each other then they turned to see Max staring at them, “I hope for your sake it isn't the DNA tubes.”
Max, Steve, T.J., Timber, James, and Sam hurried off to the lab that Max had closed.
When they reached the door they saw it was opened.
“See, I told you I wanted this thing sealed shut,” Max said as he walked in. A few seconds later he came flying out.
“What the?” James said.
“Don't you know how to give people their privacy?” said a strangely familiar voice.
“Max are you ok?” Timber asked helping Max up.
“Yeah I'm fine,” Max said.
“Who was that?” Sam asked.
A blue hedgehog walked out of the room, “Your worst nightmare!”
“I don't believe it,” Steve said, “It's another Max!”
“Good reasoning fox boy, thanks to that kid and you two we've managed to become real,” the evil Max said.
“We've?” T.J. asked.
8 other people walked into the hallway.
“Yes we, and now we're going to take the place of the rightful rulers of the new Mobius!” evil Max said.
“I don't think so!” Max said powering up.
“Fool, I'm exactly like you!” evil Max said increasing his power.
Suddenly a gush of fire came through causing the evil clones to back up.
“I don't think so,” Ron said walking into view, “Maybe we should call for reinforcements?”
“Sure why not?” Max said.
Ron held up his amulet, but nothing was happening, “What? I don't understand!”
“You fool, our energy is canceling out the amulet as long as we're here the amulet is useless!” evil Ron said.
Another beam ripped through the hallway hurting a lot of the people.
“Why you!” evil Max said, “This isn't over, we'll meet again!”
A sphere encased all of them and the blasted up through the floors.
Max turned towards Steve and James, “See, what did I tell you, know look what we have to deal with!”
“But Max…” James started to say.
“No buts, we've got to take them out before they can do any damage to the planet,” Max said running back upstairs. The rest followed him after a few seconds.
“Max, what's wrong?” Sara said catching the sight of her brother.
“James and Steve's experiment just took a turn for the worst, we now have some evil doubles running around,” Max said.
“Oh no,” Metalla said.
“Let's get going,” Sara said.
“Huh?” Max said in surprise.
“Well we're not just going to sit here and let them do as they please, they'd end up starting a revolution and then onto complete chaos,” Sara said.
“So what are we going to do?” Ron asked.
“Well, think about where you would go to get away from people that are after you,” Metal said.
“You're right, come on guys, let's go!” Max said, “Metalla I want you to stay here.”
“What!” Metalla said.
"We can handle this you stay here and look after Coll while the rest of us
deal with our doubles."
"No way Max one of those doubles are mine and I'm going like it or not."
"But I don't want you to get hurt. In your condition you could lose the baby," Max said.
"Don't worry I won't lose the baby and I'll be extra careful. I promise," Metalla said protesting.
"Don't worry I'll look after her. She'll be fine." Sara said.
"I know you will. You both be careful," Max said.
"You worry too much," Metalla said.
"That's me, I worry about my family. Well I guess we'd better get going," Max said.
"Right let's go." Sara said.
Kari transformed into Sailor D and took off with Ron. Boomerang went off with Kat and Ariana.
Max and Fists headed off to the floating island. T.J. and Steve headed for a shuttle to the space station; Sara and Metalla went off towards Fox City. Kat, Ariana, and Boomerang headed off to the Great Forest, Metal walked off towards the lake, and Ron and Sailor D headed off towards some caves. James, Timber, and Sam stayed behind to watch Coll.
“Ron, how come we're heading towards the caves?” Sailor D asked.
“Because that's where my dad and I did a lot of secret training,” Ron said.
“All systems are go, ready for lift off,” T.J. said.
“Engines starting now,” Steve said.
Their shuttle lifted off towards the Freedom Space Station.
The first to arrive at their location was Metal.
“I was wondering when you'd get here,” the evil Metal said.
“It seems my fighting days aren't over yet,” Metal said.
The evil Metal gave a smirk and charged at Metal. Metal jumped out of the way and went Mystic; it was the first time he'd powered up since he was turned to flesh.
“You think that's going to stop me?” the evil Metal said powering up.
“We shall see,” Metal said as the too engaged in a fist fight.
Kat, Ariana, and Boomerang made their way through the forest.
“They've got to be around here somewhere,” Kat said.
“How can you be so sure?” Boomerang said.
“I can feel it,” Kat said.
“You've got good instincts,” the evil Kat said jumping down, “I see you've brought a friend.”
“Let me handle this guys,” Boomerang said.
The evil Kat let out a laugh, “You think you can take me fox boy?”
“Boomerang, let me and Ariana handle these two,” Kat said.
“If you wish,” Boomerang said.
The evil Ariana appeared and the four went at it.
The evil Kat tried to give a blow to Kat, but she ducked and punched her evil double in the stomach knocking the wind out of her.
Ariana jumped into the air and sent her foot right into the evil Ariana's face.
Boomerang was watching this, he could tell who was good and who wasn't, the evil ones had a distinctive look to their face. He waiting for a few seconds and sent one of his attacks right into the evil Kat. She went flying into a tree and was knocked out.
Sara and Metalla reached Fox City and looked around. Nothing was happening, but they knew there evil doubles were about.
“Where do you think they are?” Metalla asked.
“I don't know, but let's look around,” Sara said.
Ron and Sailor D reached the caves and went in.
“I don't think he's here,” Sailor D said.
Suddenly a massive beam of fire went right past them.
“Oh, I think he's here,” Ron said.
The two ran through the cave trying to find the source of the beam.
In space T.J. and Steve had docked with the space station and were running around inside trying to find their doubles.
“I don't think they are here,” Steve said.
“They have to be, this is where we'd go,” T.J. said.
Suddenly a wooden poll came out of no where and struck the two in the chest both of them went flying onto the floor.
“I think we found them,” Steve said.
Meanwhile at the lake, both Metals were going at it.
“Give it up, you can't beat someone exactly like you,” the evil Metal said as he punched Metal in the face.
“You'd like to think that wouldn't you?” Metal said as he spun around and smashed his foot into the evil Metal's back. The evil Metal fell for a few feet before getting back his balance.
He turned up ad looked at Metal; “You're going to pay for that!”
Metal looked at him with a smirk, “Try me.”
The evil Metal quickly gathered energy and let lose with a sky full of spheres; Metal dodged them and appeared above his evil double.
“What the?” the evil Metal said looking up.
“Good night!” Metal said as he brought both his hands down on top of his evil double's head; he was knocked out cold and feel towards the water.
“Good bye trouble,” Metal said as he powered up and fired a massive beam destroying his evil double.
He landed on the shore and looked into the water.
“I hope the others have it this easy,” Metal said as he returned to his normal form, and walked back into the castle.
In the forest, Kat, Ariana, and Boomerang had gotten a complete upper hand on the evil duplicates.
The evil Kat looked up to see the three of them looking at her, she looked down to her left and saw the evil Ariana knocked out cold.
“Die!” she shouted as she launched at them.
“Static Pulse Force Power!” Boomerang shouted.
The evil Kat let out a scream of pain and both she and the evil Ariana were caught in a beam of light that tore them apart, they were destroyed.
“That was too easy, but atleast were done,” Ariana said.
“Can I escort you girls back to the palace?” Boomerang said.
The two let out a giggle and the three of them walked back towards the palace.
In Fox City, Sara and Metalla were only able to find the evil Metalla.
“You want to handle this Metalla or do you want me too?” Sara asked.
“I always wanted to see how I'd match up against myself, so I'll handle this,” Metalla said.
“If you're sure, but be careful,” Sara said.
“So you think you can stop me?” the evil Metalla said.
“Sure, why not?” Metalla said as she went into her warrior form.
The evil Metalla did the same and the two went towards each other.
“Mega Lighting Beam!” Metalla shouted taking her evil double by surprise; she was thrown back a few yards, but recovered and came back again.
Up in the space station, the four foxes were at it.
“We never got to thank you for helping create us,” the evil T.J. said as he punched his double in the face.
“The favor is all ours,” T.J. said as he went ultra and sent his double through the walls.
Steve was in a complete stalemate with his evil double, both of them continually fought each other with whatever they had, but neither was gaining any ground.
“It seems we are evenly matched,” the evil Steve said.
“Yes it appears so,” Steve said as he was breathing hard.
T.J. had manage to get his double cornered.
“You can't destroy me without having to damage the ship, and you would never think about doing that,” the evil T.J. said.
“If it will allow me to be rid of you I'd do anything,” T.J. said as he powered up his attack and let if fly.
“Your insane!” the evil T.J. said as he was blasted through the walls and was torn apart.
T.J. looked at his cousin trying to defeat his double. He walked over and pounded the evil double right into the floor.
“Thanks,” Steve said.
“Anything for my cousin,” T.J. said as he destroyed the evil Steve, “come on let's get back to Mobius.”
T.J. powered down and both walked towards the shuttle.
Meanwhile in the caves, Ron and D found the evil Ron.
“I'm not going to stick around here and be out numbered,” the evil Ron said as he shot up a fireball that blinded Ron and D, he ran out of the cave.
By the time D and Ron could see again, it was too late.
“Come on we've got to get back to the palace,” Ron said.
“I'm with you,” D said as the two ran out of the caves.
Meanwhile Max and Fists reached the Floating Island. Fists made his way towards the Command Base, while Max headed towards the shrine of the emeralds.
Fists encountered his double outside of the command base.
“Fool, you think that you can just appeared and think your going to take over my island?” Fists said.
“This is my island now, so get off before I throw you off,” the evil Fists said.
“I don't think so,” Fists said as he ran up to his evil double and gave him a right hook right in the jaw.
The two instantly engaged in a fistfight.
In Fox City Metalla had literally knocked her evil double out.
“Even if you manage to defeat me, the others are still out there, they will destroy you all and then they will bring us back, your world will be ours!” the evil Metalla said with her last breath, she dropped to the ground.
“Come on Metalla, we've got to find my evil double,” Sara said.
“You know I thought fighting myself would be harder, just goes to show how weak we really are,” Metalla said, “Mega Lighting Blast!”
The evil Metalla was destroyed and Metalla and Sara went off to look for the evil Sara.
Up on the Floating Island Max had gotten to the shrine, but didn't see his evil double anywhere.
“I know he's got to be here, but where?” Max said looking around.
“I see you, but can you see me?” the evil Max said from somewhere.
“Show yourself you coward!” Max said.
“Oh come on,” the evil Max said.
Max powered up to mystic and started looking around for any signs.
Suddenly out of nowhere he was hit in the back, Max spun around saw that his evil double had gone up to mystic level 5.
“You forget Max, I have just as much power as you do,” the evil Max said.
Max quickly blasted him with a giant beam, it did damage him and it ended up smashing him into a wall.
“You may be exactly like me, but I will never allow this planet to fall into the hands of evil!” Max shouted as he powered up to level 7.
“Very impressive,” the evil Max said.
Meanwhile outside, Fists had gone mystic and was having a hard time fighting his double.
“Come on, is this the best you can give me?” the evil Fists said as he rammed his head into Fists'.
Fists stumbled back a few paces, before he got his bearings and ran towards his evil double.
Fists rammed right into his evil double and right into a grove of trees. Suddenly the ground started shaking and Fists looked towards the shrine of the emeralds, “No!”
“What's wrong, can't finish me off?” the evil Fists said.
“You should have never been created, evil like yours no longer has a place on Mobius,” Fists said as he charged up and blasted his evil double to bits. He powered down and ran towards where Max and his evil double were.
As he got there he saw Max standing there alone.
“Max, did you destroy him?” Fists asked.
“No, he got away, come on we've got to get back to the city and check in with the others,” Max said as he powered down. They headed towards the plane they used to get there and took off for Mobotropolis.
When everyone had gathered in the room, James gave them the report.
“Alright everyone, we have an evil duplicate of Ron, Sara, and Max, still around, anyone got any ideas of where they could be?” James asked.
“What about, no they wouldn't be there,” Steve started to say.
“Where Steve?” Sara asked.
“I was thinking that maybe they could be near the desert region,” Steve said.
“Why do you say that?” Metalla asked.
“Because that's where a lot of major battles have happened, and it would be logical for them to be there,” Steve said.
“Steve you're a genius, come on guys, let's go kick some evil butt!” Max said.
Everyone, but James walked outside and got into a new and larger comm van. They took off towards the desert region.
“Guys, there's three duplicates around, we out power them, so we've got to overwhelm them with power,” Max said.
“I'm with you Max,” Fists said.
“Even though we may have more power than them, it doesn't mean we can't use strategy,” Metal said.
“Metal is right, we need to have strategy or they will take us down,” Sailor D said.
“How about one person keeps the duplicate distracted while the others attack?” Sara said.
“That can work,” Ron said.
“Well we're about to put it to the test,” Max said as he slammed on the breaks. They just narrowly missed a beam coming towards them, “I think we found them.”
Everyone got out of the van and lined up facing the three remaining duplicates.
“Well look who finally managed to show up,” the evil Ron said.
“You just keep talking, we're going to take all three of you down,” T.J. said.
“Yeah, that will be the day,” Max said.
“Spiritual Dimensional Warp Blast!” Sailor D shouted.
“Static Pulse Force Power!” Boomerang shouted.
The two attacks hit dead on and managed to allow everyone to gang up on the duplicates.
Ron powered up and ran towards his duplicate.
“You can't defeat me,” the evil Ron said as he jumped up into the air. Suddenly though T.J. who was powered up to mystic came out of nowhere and kicked the evil Ron right in the back. The evil Ron fell to the ground and Ron blasted him. The evil Ron stood up.
“What cheaters, you can never defeat me!” the evil Ron said.
“Game over pal!” Max said as he blasted the evil Ron into bits.
Sara had been fighting her evil duplicate by herself, but now the others had joined in.
Metal, Max, Ron, T.J., and Fists gathered around the evil Sara.
“Well isn't this a little unfair? Max would you mind helping me?” the evil Sara said.
“Sorry, I can't, I'm all tied up over here,” the evil Max said as he tried to fight off the others that were attacking him.
Max had gone up to mystic level 8, “Time to finish another evil off.”
“That's what you think,” the evil Sara said as she began to show her power.
“Dang, she has that power too,” Ron said.
Max powered up to mystic level 9 and blasted the evil Sara before she could finish powering up.
Fists jumped into the air and did a body slam onto Sara, knocking her almost out of it.
Metal and Ron both blasted her knocking her out cold, and Max finished her off with a huge blast.
“Guys, away from my evil duplicate, I want to face him alone,” Max said.
“But Max, what about the plan?” Ariana said.
“I want to face him myself, don't ask why, I just do,” Max said.
“If that's what you wish,” Kat said as everyone backed away from the two.
“So you're going to challenge me alone huh?” the evil Max said as he powered up to mystic level 9, “You can't defeat me, we are both equal.”
“I'll take you down, even if you have the same power as me,” Max said.
Both of them engaged in the fight. The evil Max went up higher and tried to ram his elbow into Max's head, but Max dodged it and rammed his fist into the evil Max's stomach.
The evil Max then did a back flip and managed to kick Max in the back with his foot. Max looked up at his evil duplicate and blasted him with a beam. Max then used all his speed and head rammed his evil duplicate in the stomach.
The evil Max let out a moan, “Get a load of this!”
The evil Max gathered some black energy and formed it into a sphere.
“You're insane!” Max said.
“Thank you!” the evil Max said as he threw the sphere at Max.
Max grabbed the sphere and used all his power to keep it from exploding; he neutralized it using his own energy, then disappeared.
“Where did he go?” the evil Max said.
Max appeared behind his evil duplicate and rammed him in the back and then went around to the front of his evil double and began continuously punching him in the stomach. The evil Max lost some of his power and fell to mystic level 8.
“Max is winning!” Sailor D said.
Max stopped to catch his breath and his evil duplicate looked at him with a glare and then disappeared.
“Where did he go?” Max said looking around.
“Max!” Metalla shouted.
Max turned around and looked down to see his evil double holding Metalla in a headlock.
“You monster, I can't believe you would sink that low!” Max said enraged.
“Surrender the planet to me, or else both she and your unborn child will get it,” the evil Max shouted tightening his grip.
Max was enraged, but he couldn't do anything without endangering Metalla, “I have no choice, I surrender.”
“Oh Max,” Sara said.
The evil Max let out a hysterical laugh and then rammed his knee cap into Metalla's back, she fell face first into the dirt, “Oops, that slipped, but no the planet is mine!”
Max was completely enraged, “You monster, I'll kill you for what you've done!”
The ground literally started to shake and Max let out huge screams of rage.
“He's going to blow!” Ron said.
A huge column of energy blasted out of the ground and encased Max. The ground was shaking violently.
“What's going on here!” the evil Max said.
As the column and shaking died down, Max reemerged although seriously changed.
His body had taken a golden crystal color; his spins here straight up and were a bit longer, his eyes had also had a sharp blue color to them.
“What the?” the evil Max said.
“He did it, he really did it!” Kat said.
“I have reached mystic level 10, and you shall face your end!” Max said looking at his evil duplicate.
“What ever!” the evil Max said as he shot up towards Max, but Max was faster.
Max brought his knee right into the evil Max's skull. The evil Max fell to the ground and instantly shot down to mystic.
Max landed by him and picked him up and looked straight into his eyes “You're a monster, you dare attack someone who has an unborn child and expect to get away with it? I don't think so, you don't belong here and I won't stand having to fight over and over anymore!”
Max threw his evil duplicate into the air and then gathered so much energy so fast it was amazing. He used all of it and blasted his evil duplicate to bits. He powered down and looked at the others, “Let's get Metalla to a hospital quick!”
They loaded her into the van and floored it back to Mobotropolis. After waiting for about half an hour in the waiting room, James walked out.
“Who is she?” Max asked.
“She and the child will be perfectly fine, your evil duplicate missed hurting either of them by only a few inches,” James said, “Give her an hour and she'll be fine.”
After waiting a few hours, Max and the others had a huge party, of course their parents were there.
“I heard you got a new power today son,” Sonic said looking at his son with pride.
“Yeah dad, it was like nothing before, I felt like I could do anything,” Max said.
“That's my son, just like his dad,” Sonic said.
“Only he thinks first,” Sally added.
“I can never win,” Sonic said.
Everyone let out a laugh and continued to party.
“Finally we can relax,” Max said.
They decided to party all night and sleep all the next day. Halfway through the party a mysterious stranger appeared.
“Hello All.”
“Who are you?” T.J. asked.
“The names Gecko, Charlie, Gecko.”
“What can we do for you Mr. Gecko?” Max asked.
“Nothing at all my dear boy. I was just passing by and saw the party.”
“Well your more than welcome to stay. Everyone's welcome.” Metalla said.
“Thank you my dear.” He said walking over to her and massaging the side of her stomach.
“That feels good what are doing?” Metalla asked.
“A simple massage all your tension is going here. Don't worry your child will be fine.”
“Oh I know that. The doctors said…”
“Yes but even still, you still fear something may still go wrong. You don't have to worry your son will be healthy and happy.”
“Will he have any powers?” Max asked.
“Max!” Metalla scolded.
“No it's alright. Even if I knew the answer I wouldn't tell you.”
“Why not?”
“If you knew you would put pressure on him to develop it. Where if you don't know you will treat him as you do your son with hope and expectation.”
“So where are you headed?” Sara asked.
“Nowhere in particular, my dear. Just wherever the wind blows.”
“What are you?” I mean your name suggest you're a Gecko but you don't look like one.” Boomerang asked.
“Nate!” Kari yelled.
“What?”
“You'll have to excuse my cousin, he's got a big mouth.”
“Quite alright my dear. Your cousins right I'm not a Gecko, I'm a chameleon.”
“But why do you use the name Gecko?” Nate asked.
“That's a long complicated and dull story. Perhaps on my next visit I'll tell you. I wouldn't want to ruin your party with my life story.”
“Um, if you're a chameleon does that mean you can re-grow your own tail?” Steve asked.
“Well if I have to.” Gecko said.
“Oh no you don't” Max said.
“What I'm sure it was just an innocent question.” James said.
“Yeah right, look guys I don't think so. I mean look what happened, not only that but Coll could have been hurt if those vials had fallen on him.”
“Look Max we'll put a lock on the door and be a lot more careful. This experiment if successful could really help the people of New Mobius. If we just took a little of Mr. Gecko's blood and studied his DNA the risk factors would be greatly reduced.” Steve said.
“I don't know I still think it's too dangerous.” Max said.
“Look you can monitor our progress and at the first sign of danger you can shut it down, deal?” James asked.
“I know I'm going to regret this but alright.” Max said.
“Yes!” Steve said.
“But at the first sign of trouble this project will terminated. Understood?”
“Understood.” Steve said.
“Mr. Gecko would you mind if we took a sample of your blood?” James asked.
“Not at all lead the way.”
On the way to the lab he spotted Coll.
“Would you mind waiting up ahead, I'll be right with you.” Gecko said sitting down next to Coll.
“Sure thing.” James said.
“Hello there, young man.”
“Hi.” Coll said.
“You don't sound happy, aren't you excited about getting a baby brother?”
“I guess so.”
“You know I used to feel the same way every time my mom had another child.”
“You have brothers too?” Coll asked.
“I have many brothers and sisters. It's a little nerve racking at first especially when they're really little but someday you two may become the best of friends and laugh and play together.”
“Do you really think so?”
“I know so.”
“See those two?”
“You mean Kari and Boomerang?”
“Yes you see how they fight all the time?”
“Yeah so?”
“So, they grew up together just like brother and sister and even though they fight all they time they really do care for each other, even though they'd never admit it. There are many different types of relationships theirs and your fathers and your Aunt Sara's. They hardly ever fight but they still care for each other just like Kari and Boomerang.”
“So what kind of rela…what you call it?”
“Relationship?”
“Yeah which kind will I have?”
“I don't know Coll. But I know you'll always have each other through think and thin.”
“I hope so.”
“I know so. Do me a favor.”
“Sure what?”
“Just remember one thing whenever you decide to go exploring.”
“What that?”
“Go up.”
“Huh? I don't understand.”
“Don't worry about it you will someday. In the mean time just remember that no matter what your parents will always love and care for you.”
“Really?”
“Really, trust me they love you with all their heart. Now go to them.”
“K, bye, thank you.” Coll said as he ran over to Max who picked him up and held him. Coll looked back and waved goodbye to his new friend.
“Any time little one, any time. Well goodbye everyone after the blood test I'm off.”
“Can't you stay?” Ariana asked.
“No as I told you I'm just passing through. Perhaps we'll meet again. I may be back this way again someday. But I am a lover not a fighter. So till we meet again Areverderci.”
“Areva what?” Boomerang asked
“It means good by in Italian.” Kari told him.
“I knew that” Boomerang said.
“Sure you did.” Kari said.
“I think I'd better keep an eye on them. They may need me again someday. Till then I'll just be a shadow in the wind.”
