I came to the US in 1988 for an adventure, alone.
In 1991 during the Desert Storm (he was stationed in NRAS, NC and I was in New Jersey),
I wrote a letter and it ended up on the USS Iwo Jima ship and into his hand and we corresponded for a while.
At the end we got married. After we had our first son for a week, he left for the Meditarranean Sea for 6 months military tour/duty.
In 1996, we moved to Savannah Georgia due to his job at Gulfstream Aerospace.
In 1997, we had another child, a beautiful girl.

We met through internet early 1998. I was then working in Singapore and Joe was in Germany.
We communicated with Emails and sometimes letters. It was from the third Email, we knew that we could click well.
We could discuss about almost everything, from music to politics to books and religions.
What happened later? We fell in love.
It was a relationship many thought that won't work and my mother was very very against it.
We managed to hold on and we made it. We got married in May 2000.

We first met in July 1998 when he came to visit me in Malaysia after about 8 months of emailing.
The first time I saw him, he wasn't my type at all, he was really skinny and really tall!

We operate a small traditional bakery producing healthy breads and cakes, initially because my husband cannot find his favorite bread here.
Although I used to be working with computers in a bank and he in the oil industry and computer manufacturing (among other things),
we thought working together would be better for us at this age.
Because bad nutrition is mainly the cause of modern diseases, we do not use preservatives and additives in our products,
check the source of the ingredients and where possible make the ingredients ourselves.
We have held baking classes for children in a school nearby and tell them to eat whole grain instead of refined foods.

We met in Kuala Lumpur in 2001 where he worked as an expat in a Swedish owned firm
and I was a full time journalist with an English language newspaper.

Hello! My husband & I were married in January 22, 2005 in Malaysia.
However, he had to return to his home on February 14, 2005 because he has 2 sons waiting for him there.
At the moment he is staying in Walla Walla, Washington, USA, while I'm still in Malaysia.
He is still trying very hard to get me an Immigrant Visa for spouse.
He has sent Form I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative) to USCIS in Nebraska & already got an Application Receipt Number.
We found out that it will take more than 3 years for USCIS to process the form alone.
Now he is going to send another form, Form I-129F (Petition for Alien Fiance') because with this form,
we hope I can go there within 3 months time after USCIS has processed it.
Other than that, a friend adviced us to contact the local Senators for help.
So far, only one has replied but she won't be able to help us speed the process.
It's a very sad news for both of us :(
Frankly, we don't know what else to do & really hope that someone here could help us by giving us some ideas or advice.

I was in Singapore and he was in Manchester, UK.
After exchanging emails for about 8 months, Chris came over to Singapore and we spent a fantastic two weeks together,
he proposed to me at the end of the holiday and we got married a year later, we are now settled down in London.
