Stephane and I married in October 1998 and are about ready to celebrate our 3rd anniversary!
Meeting Stephane was the best thing to happen to me.
I was divorced with two children and we have blended into a wonderful family.
My children absolutely adore him and the feeling is mutual.
My 15 year old son just returned from a one month exchange program to Germany and had a wonderful experience.
His host brother is coming to stay with us in late October for 3 weeks.
Love truly has no boundaries --- and I cherish each moment we share together - we are truly blessed.
PS Its true what they say about the French - OoLaLa!

We met by internet in 1995 and married in Indonesia (1996), then in France (1997).
Sarah, our girl, was born in Nancy - France at 1998, and then Marc, our naughty boy, 1999.
It was a difficult to prove to everybody that our love is true.
We had also a lots of problem about Visa etc.
Now, we can show them that it was not only the cyber romance, it was not only the adventure, but it was true !

I am African American and my husband is white from France.
We met in 1991 in Miami, Florida. He was on holiday there and I was there attending a teacher's convention.
We've been together ever since although it was long-distance for a while.
I was traveling to France twice a year till he was able to come to the United States in 1995. That's when we were married, on Sept. 11th.
It was very difficult dealing with immigration and didn't really get any assistance till we went to the Embassy in Paris.
We live in Florida and I must say that we do get stares occasionally, but that's it.
After all, it is the 90's and I believe for the most part, people are getting over it already and minding their own business.

One born in America, the other came from France. How two should meet across the miles, took something more than chance.
Someone in the Heavens, looking down from way up high, saw the perfect match they'd make, and gave a heavy sigh.
How on Earth these two should meet? No one seemed to know. The angels stretched their wings and vowed, that they would make it so!
Sometimes angels see the things, we cannot grasp from here. Their vantage point above the world, makes everything quite clear.
Now the two are nearly one, and simply quite amazed, that one must learn to speak Français, and the other "parler l'Anglais"!
They think they met by twist of fate, and marvel at their chance, while angels smile and heaven's gate, and exchange a knowing glance.
So never doubt your couple, or how far you both will go. Remember well the loving angels, and all the truths they know!

OUR STORY: We are from Latin America and Europe, we met in a third continent (Jordan).

I followed my love to France (we met in Buenos Aires) and I'm currently working on a thesis
about 'sentimental migrations'. It doesn't read as well in English.
I realized that most of the literature about international couples in France
was focused on the social perceptions of "mixed marriages" and completely ignore
the administrative problems we face and the positive aspects of being part of an international couple.

Nous avons fait connaissance en France. Moi, Liliane d'origine malgache vivant en France depuis des années
Presque toute ma famille est à Madagascar. Nous nous sommes mariés à Madagascar l'été 98.
Ce voyage pour mon mari était très enrichissant et l'a permis de mieux me comprendre et de mieux connaitre mon pays et ma famille.
Dommage qu'aucun membre de sa famille n'ait pu venir.
On aimerait bien rencontrer des gens dans la meme situation que nous. Car nous sommes de surcroit une famille recomposée

We live in a country area and don't find it easy to get books, videos, etc in English.
We find that many bilingual families are indifferent

We started a snailmail correspondence in 1992, met for the first time in 1993,
moved in together (in Luxemburg) in 1994, got married in 1995,
and our first daughter (of meanwhile three girls) was born in 1996.
Both being European Union citizens, we had no bureaucratic hurdles to take.
The problems turned up later in everyday life when we refought old battles between our countries
and realized how many prejudices are still alive and kicking among our compatriots
despite of all the blabla about a united (Western) Europe.

We got to know each other on internet in 2000. At that time only English was our common language.
We've been together since Julien visited Japan for the first time to see Ryoko in the end of year 2000.

After living in US for close to 10 years, I returned to Singapore in 1999,
met my beloved husband in 2000, fell madly in love and got married 8 months after in Singapore and Malaysia.
We moved back to France after our civil and Asian traditional wedding.
Last summer, we had our church wedding in Corisca.
This coming September, we'll be expecting our first baby.
We hope to meet other Euro-Asia couples like us whom are living in France.
