My name is Benny and I am engaged to a wonderful woman from Orange City, Iowa (Julie) and her daughter Bailey (11 years old).
We have been dating for 4 years in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where we met while I was a baseball player in the minor leagues.
Picture this: a crazy Dominican and a conservative country girl from Iowa:). It makes for a fun relationship.
My fiancee, Stepdaughter to be and myself are heading to Domininican Republic on 3/12/2001 to get married.
Our wedding date is 3/23/2001 in Santo Domingo but first we are heading to The Eastern part of the island.
She will learn first hand about all of the things that we have been sharing for the last years.
The people, the beaches, the arroz con pollo and even the APAGONES! I love it!
Although it has been a long ride with the race issue, people are starting to come around.
Our differences make for a never dull and always exciting home:)

Eine Liebe, die anfangs so ziemlich hoffnungslos aussah und auf Unverständnis stieß.
Kennengelernt haben wir uns im Urlaub, in Cabarete.
Danach folgten viele Besuche von mir in der Dominikanischen Republik,
William war auch auf Besuch in Deutschland, um sich mein Land
und die Mentalität und das Leben unserer Landsleute einmal anzuschauen - ob er damit zurechtkommt!
Dieses Jahr im Mai haben wir geheiratet. Es war ein Traum von einer Hochzeit und er ist noch längst nicht zu Ende.
Wir sind beide überglücklich, auch freuen sich jetzt Verwandschaft und Bekanntschaft mit uns,
da William längst akzeptiert und gemocht wird.
Die Zeit der langen Trennungen durch die weite Entfernung war sehr aufregend,
auch wenn es weh tat - missen möchte ich sie nicht, aber nochmal durchmachen auch nicht.
Wir sind überglücklich, jetzt zusammenleben zu können und sind ein unzertrennliches Zweiergespann geworden!
Wo ein Wille ist, ist auch ein Weg!!!
