We met online in January of 97, and plan to wed on April 12th, 1998.

I didn't find any couple with an Arab party, that doesn't mean that they are rare.
Ralfy and I met at the university in Morocco, especially, in the workshop of photography, in November 98.
We aren't married yet, we meet a lot of problems, especially religious ones
Before the marriage, he has to convert to Islam, and we need a lot of time and money only for papers.
Of course he made the convertion, but he is still a student, and here in Morocco we need money for marriage, not only for the "dot" which is an amount of money given by the man to his future wife, but also for the wedding.
We can not do all this, and my family will not let me go with him
My mother told me to wait until he settles down
He is still doing researches for his 'Doctorat' in geology, we don't want to wait, I know that my parents are doing all this to make me forget this union because they don't agree with it...
Now we are hoping to find a solution, I am trying to find a job for 1 year, perhaps would it help us???

Both went to high school, college, and grad school in this country.
We actually have quite similar backgrounds, contrary to the common belief.
It seems quite hard for other people to understand though.
I'm hopeful that people will be more open minded as time goes on.

After I finished high school in 1995, I went to Germany as an exchange student.
I ended up in Wolfsburg the Volkswagen city.
Although I had seen my husband around many times and we had mutual friends,
we didn't actually meet until half of my year was over.
We met at an Abitur party on February 2, 1996.
We've been together ever since.
I left Germany in June 1996. Our son, Soren, was born in California in December that year.
Andreas visited us twice in 1997, both times for a month long.
The distance was just too much.
So, after one very succesful semester at college I packed our bags and we moved to Germany in December 1997,
just 10 days before Soren's first birthday.
We married in a beautiful castle on September 9, 1999.
We live in Berlin. Soren is being raised bilingually, which is sometimes very dificult.

We found our real soulmates, but never thought it would be from another country opposite sides of the world.

He was in the German Air Force and was getting out.

I was an exchange student for a year in Texas. After about half a year I met Steven.
At first it was nothing serious for the both of us. Time went by fast and the day for me to leave came closer and closer.
It was the worst day standing at the airport leaving Steven behind without knowing if we would ever see each other again.
But at this time we knew that we loved each other and tried to figure out what to do.
A few month after I had left the States, Steven joined the Air Force.
Now I could not see him and talk to him for 6 weeks while he was in boot camp. I flew back to Texas 4 month later.
Steven was now stationed in Lousiana. After so long not seeing him I went up there for 1 weekend.
I was scared that we wouldn't get along. The first hour seeing him was weird, but after that we had a great time.
I flew back to Germany, again, not knowing how everything is gonna work out. Steven came to visit me over Christmas,
and we knew that this is something so special, that we made it through so much already, staying together the whole time.
A few month after that I got a call in the middle of the night.
It was Steven who said: I got Germany, I can be stationed there, are you sure this is what you really want?
I was so surprised and happy but also a little confused.
What if for some reason we wouln't work out seeing each other so often now, and then he changed his life for me!
But after a lot of thinking and talking that was what we both wanted.
Being together! Steven got to Germany in april this year.
We still live 6 hours away from each other, but we see each other twice a month.
It's not always easy, but it's a wonder that all this worked out. I guess somebody thought we belong together.
On the 24th of October 2000 we are gonna get married in Denmark!!!
When I finish school I'll move down where Steven lives, and we'll finally be together, hopefully forever then!

We started a snailmail correspondence in 1992, met for the first time in 1993,
moved in together (in Luxemburg) in 1994, got married in 1995,
and our first daughter (of meanwhile three girls) was born in 1996.
Both being European Union citizens, we had no bureaucratic hurdles to take.
The problems turned up later in everyday life when we refought old battles between our countries
and realized how many prejudices are still alive and kicking among our compatriots
despite of all the blabla about a united (Western) Europe.

Ja hallo ....ich bin 21 Jahre alt und lebe mit meinem Pakistani in eheähnlicher Gemeinschaft und zudem haben wir auch einen gemeinsamen Sohn..
klingt alles jetzt sehr einfach, aber bis ich dies erreichte, war ein langer, nervenzerreissender Weg.
Manchmal ist es mir als würde die Decke über mich einstürzen.. und sonst würde ich mich sehr freuen,
wenn einer sich mal an den Haaren packen könnte, um sich selbst einen Schubs zu geben, mir zu schreiben. :)

Die Eltern meiner Freundin setzten sie sehr unter Druck, wobei es mehr darum geht was andere,
sprich Verwanten, Freunde und Nachbarn darüber evtl. denken sollen oder könnten.
Ich muß dazu sagen das meine Freundin geschieden ist und eine dreijährige Tochter von ihrem Exmann hat.
Das daß eine Beziehung natürlich sehr belastet und negativ beeinflußt kann sich sicher jeder denken.
Im Moment wissen wir beide auch nicht mehr wie es weiter gehen soll,
da wir beide auch nicht möchten das sie sich von ihrer Familie lossagt oder mit ihr zerstreitet.....
also kommt dann letztendlich wirklich nur noch eins in Frage.....!!!!????
Wir lieben und verstehen uns beide sehr gut und ich möchte meine zwei Mädels einfach auch nicht mehr verlieren !!!
