Hi! Paul and I met via Internet in March 1999. He wanted to learn Finnish.
I thought he was nuts and couldn't resist writing back! *smile*
We have lived together in Finland for over a year now
and I still think he is the most wonderful man I have ever known!

Due to the nature of my husband's job we have lived in several countries.
Where do you come from? Is a complicated answer for our girls aged 7 & 4.
We returned to Japan last Aug (girls first time to live here).
I am interested in how others maintain bilingualism with their kids.
Also if anyone has tips on Japanese education system, they are much appreciated.

A Filipino wife's expectations of her husband in financial matters.
Cultural differences involving family...eg the Filipino wife controls all the finances.
In Australia, husband and wife share the control of the finances.
Cultural difference problems in financial matters. Dependence of the Filipino wife on her husband.
She has called me the captain of the ship (who will charter the voyage, avoid obstacles, steer and is resonsible for passengers?)
Will the Filipino wife devote any time to her foreign husband,
or does all her time go in earning money and child-rearing (she has 3 children, 14, 15 & 21)?

Hi everyone! It is so nice to read all the different stories of how people from such diverse backgrounds have met and fallen in love!
Just to give the younger couples some hope and encouragement for the future,
my husband and I have been together for 26 years (married for 23)
and have been blessed with four wonderful sons (20, 17 and 12 year old twins).
My husband is a Sikh and wore a turban for the first six years we were together.
I would love to hear from other couples with a similar background to ours.
We have both lived in Australia for many years.
I was born in Scotland and Thana (his short name!) was born in Malaysia.

Hi, I met Adrian through the internet five years ago.
He's a little bit younger than myself and lives in Australia and we were great friends.
Last year he came to visit me, and we knew we should be together - forever.
My family is appalled to think that in eight small weeks I will be in Australia, on a working visa..
and hopefully, prior to that time we will be married in the U.S.
Anyone else from Australia/US - - any input would be greatly appreciated.
Betsy

Messa and I met on-line on Dec. 7, 2001.
We found that we connected so strongly that our very strong friendship which developed
became serious and a lasting and blessed love has developed and is continiung to grow for both of us.
We are both led by strong Christian Faith in our relationship.
We are trying to arrange a meeting in Australia early in the New Year...
Messa and I are seeking reliable up to date information on immigration and help from others who have married interracially.

My girlfriend and I plan on getting married in a couple of months what I need to find out is what we have to do because she is Muslim and I am not.
My girlfriend is from Turkmenistan and I am from Australia but we are both working in the U.A.E (Dubai).
My girlfriend is not a practicing Muslim. What I would like to now is what sort of problems we will be facing when we go to get married.
I would like not to face any problem so I would like to sort the problems out prier to making the big plunge.
Regards Stuart

We met on the net, on December 2001. We were members of a dating service on Internet.
That was pretty amazing, actually. You just never realised that you can meet someone that you're going to spend the rest of your life from the net.
After first time of visit which is, I think on January 5 2002, Peter decided to buy me an engagement ring.
And he had to get back to Australia. But phone calls EVERYDAY! (no kidding), tons of emails, made us feel still close each other.
And at the third visit, Peter decided to talk with my parents about marriage.
Frankly, my parents disagreed with that as I haven't finished my studies. But we got their blessings anyway.
So, the wedding was on June 15th, 2002.
And here we are now, married, happily and we both are excited about our first baby,....which is expected to be born June 2003...

We met first time in net January 2002.
Nobody believed that our love would work, but we could prove that it's possible.
We met in real in Bali on April 7, 2002.
He was giving me a hug and kissed in the airport,
like we even met before and gave me many cute kangaroo and koala dolls, boomerang and Australian hat :).
We engaged in Jakarta in the same month.
When we walked in the shopping centre, suddenly he wanted buying diamond rings.
Under heavy rain we went to a jewerly shop.
Ray is always full of suprise :)
He often send flowers to my office red and white roses.
We married on April 6, 2003 in Jakarta in a restaurant near a lake.
Now We live in Geelong Australia, near a beautiful beach, with our kids and dog.

I met John in Australia and after a year and one visit to Holland with my daughter
we decided that we would move to the Netherlands as he can't move because of his son.
After being a single mum for 7 years I have nothing much to loose.
His family is very supportive and only we have to get used to everything
and we have hopes and realistic expectations for our future knowing
that it will be dodged with hard times and good, we just have to talk and listen and be aware of everything.

We are currently living in Japan but intend to live permanently in Australia.
I am hoping to contact couples who are/have been in a similar situation, especially regarding the Spouse Visa process.
