Met Jacqueline through a service. Started writing letters and after many months we both fell in love with each other.
After 10 months writing I finally went to meet her in Barranquilla.
Spent a wonderful 13 days together and asked her to marry me. Well... of course she said yes.
Then I had to ask for her hand from her parents. Well, 6 months later March 1997 we were married in Barranquilla, Colombia.
I came back and started the paper work. Before everything was completed and approved
Jacqueline was given a 3 month hardship one-time entry visitors visa as my father was very ill.
Well, we found out 3 days before she had to return to Colombia to wait out the normal visa process that she was expecting.
So, back she went. Jacqueline finally arrived for good in March 1998 5 months before the baby was to arrive.
Now, June 2001 was have Little Scott born Aug.1998 and Michael born Oct. 2000. The process was tough but worth it.

Hello, my name is Natasha and I am from the US.
I met Amit on here (the net), we chatted for a while then we set up a date to meet and we did not meet...
a week later I was sick and just so happened he called.
I told him that i was sick and he said well I really need to come see u now and bring flowers and say hi...so i said OK.
Well, 4 days after that phone call...he called again and that night he came to my home town
which is only 1.5 hours from where he is living here in the US so that is not to far away.
He did bring flowers then he took me for dinner and that night he told me that he would like to see me again and asked me if i would like to see him again.
I replied that I would love to see him again...well, we are still together today
and we have not been dating for a long time, but this is the best relationship I have had.
He asked me to go up to where he lives to stay with him for a few days to see how i like it,
so we plan on staying together to see how it works out then we plan on going from there
I hope everything just works out and goes well.
I think we are the best things that have ever came into each others life, and that is a wonderful feeling.
I hope that i have met my match...and I think I may have.

We met online on November 12, 2000 through ICQ and never missed a day of some kind of communication
until our 1st face to face meeting on July 19th in the U.S.A.(8 months later).
Marcus received his K1 Visa in April 2002 and we were married on July 27th the same year.
We went to the local INS office on August 1st to apply for the adjustment of status (I-485)
and were told it would take 18 - 24 months for our Adjustment of status interview.
Here it is April 2003, 8 months later and our interview is April 22, 2003.
We aren't really sure what to expect at the interview but have everything in order they asked us to bring.
We will update as we hear more.
Since we have done this by ourselves without help from lawyers, etc., we have learned a lot.
We are interested in meeting other German/American couples in the Denver area
and are also open to helping others to obtain happiness with INS advice.
What problems did you encounter and what advice do you have?

We met when I was in Istanbul in March 2001. Ihsan managed the guesthouse in which I stayed.
He was not allowed to be friends with the guests but we managed to be inseparable anyway and hatched a plan to be together forever.
He was fired from his job after I left because the cleaning lady told his boss about us. Really threw a wrench into our plans.
He has since gone to his village in southeast Turkey (Ihsan is Kurdish) to stay with his family to await his appointment date in Ankara.
Our application was approved by INS on July 5 and we've been trying desperately to get our documentation in order.
We think we're almost there. He's hoping to get a call from the embassy this week. Hopefully this long wait will be over soon.
Our deadline for marriage is October 20. With any luck, he will have every piece of documentation
necessary to obtain his visa.
Can't afford to hire an immigration lawyer so we've been trying to do this the nuts and bolts way. Hope nothing goes wrong at the last minute. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Nadya e-mailed me on the 5th october 2000, after reading my ad from A.B.C. dating,
which I thought was for U.K. only, we got to know alot about each other via e-mails, and we both like the same things in life,
and then we decided that it was time for us to meet, and we decided that the best time was at new years celebrations.
So I flew out to Kiev on the 28th dec, and we met at the airport, and we both knew then, that we wanted to be together.
We both had a great time at the celebrations, Nadya made a meal for us and I made the dessert,...
Departing Ukraine was very hard for us to accept, but we both knew that the time together was short.
We had agreed to have a long distance relationship, again we both knew that this would be hard.
I returned to U.K. and started to make arrangements for Nadya to be with me in U.K.
Meanwhile our children were emailing each other and they also had many things in common.
During the last eight months we had sent each other a lot of documents,
and now Nadya has got a fiancee visa and we both hope to be together again on the 29th september.
"Love knows no barriers" and our wedding will take place in spring 2002.

Christian and I met in New York City three years ago.
We have just gotten married and we are now living in Berlin, Germany.
We have lived here for a year and will probably be staying here for the next couple of years.

To date this has been the first site that we have seen with the same priority as our own site.

but sadly they tend to be a breeding ground for bigotry ,sexism, and the ignorance's of those that choose to stereotype others.

Eine Liebe, die anfangs so ziemlich hoffnungslos aussah und auf Unverständnis stieß.
Kennengelernt haben wir uns im Urlaub, in Cabarete.
Danach folgten viele Besuche von mir in der Dominikanischen Republik,
William war auch auf Besuch in Deutschland, um sich mein Land
und die Mentalität und das Leben unserer Landsleute einmal anzuschauen - ob er damit zurechtkommt!
Dieses Jahr im Mai haben wir geheiratet. Es war ein Traum von einer Hochzeit und er ist noch längst nicht zu Ende.
Wir sind beide überglücklich, auch freuen sich jetzt Verwandschaft und Bekanntschaft mit uns,
da William längst akzeptiert und gemocht wird.
Die Zeit der langen Trennungen durch die weite Entfernung war sehr aufregend,
auch wenn es weh tat - missen möchte ich sie nicht, aber nochmal durchmachen auch nicht.
Wir sind überglücklich, jetzt zusammenleben zu können und sind ein unzertrennliches Zweiergespann geworden!
Wo ein Wille ist, ist auch ein Weg!!!

Wir haben uns durch Freunde kennengelernt, vor 6 Jahren, und sind seit 3 Jahren verheiratet.
Das Leben als binationales Paar ist für uns nicht so schwer, wir leben in einer großen Stadt, in der es viele solche Paare gibt.
Auch sonst gibt es nur selten Probleme.
Wir verbringen regelmäßig einen Teil des Jahres in Indien, so daß ich dann den Part des Ausländers übernehme.
Wir sind sehr glücklich, es ist sehr bereichernd, mit einem Menschen aus einem anderen Kulturkreis zusammenzuleben.

Ich stehe noch am Anfang einer bi-nationalen Partnerschaft, habe meine Freundin im Juni diesen Jahres erst kennengelernt
und mit ihr ca. 2 Monate zusammengelebt, bis sie wegen Ablauf ihres Tourist-Visa wieder nach Thailand zurück musste.
Jetzt organisiert sie dort ihren Papierkram, und im November fliege ich zu ihr nach Thailand,
und dann will ich versuchen, dass ich sie wieder hierher holen kann. Und dann seht wohl hoffentlich bald die Hochzeit an.

Hallo ihr, ich bin ziemlich verzweifelt. Seit drei!!!! jahren versuchen Alexis und ich für ihn ein visum zu bekommen.
Er hat sehr viele jahre in Deutschland verbracht und ist dann abgeschoben worden.
Eine 1997 geplante heirat, in Deutschland, ist gescheitert, weil das damalige Zaire,
heute Demokratische Republik Kongo, im kriegswirren keine papiere ausstellen konnte.
Mittlerweile habe ich vier einladungen ｧ84 runtergeschickt.
Er hat sich pass etc im Kongo besorgt-legal- trotzdem lehnt Deutsche boschaft visum ab, ohne begründung.
Er hat hier weder sozialhilfe bezogen noch war er sogenannt kriminell.
Habt ihr n tip für mich???

My husband and I have been married for about a year and a half.
We lived together in Korea for about 8 months prior to our marriage.
Our transition to the States hasn't been very easy.
After one year, he still is having a very hard time adjusting to life here.
He's had to deal with a huge drop in social status, which I now realize is something of huge importance to him.
We just don't seem happy here.
I know I can't live my life in Korea and am debating if we should go our separate ways.
Has anyone else out there been in the same situation?
I'd love to hear what you have to say, because I feel as though nobody can relate to this situation.

My parents are from Korea, but I'm not. I was born and raised in USA and all American.
My fiance is from Argentina and we are trying to get married this December when he comes to the US to visit me.
The thing is he studies in Argentina and I study in the US.
He's already in his 2nd year of medicine and if he studies here,
he'll have to start over and take dumb classes like English 101 and etc.
I would love to study in Argentina but my Spanish is not good enough and I don't have money
to pay for tuition there, because they don't offer scholarships and financial aid.
After the attacks in NYC, we decided that we never ever want to be apart from each other.
So please if you have any ideas on how can we can stay together, please do email.

Hayati came to the U.S on an exchange program. They put him in my department right away.
I was his boss. We became very close and every one kept telling me that he liked me.
I didn't believe it. Then he told me he was in love with me.
We started seeing each other about three months after we met. I knew I was in love with him.
After six months we moved in together and a month later we were married on my birthday Sept. 7th.
I've never been happier. I thank God every day for sending me my angel Hayati.
