I met Paul online. We wrote as pen-pals for 5 months, only speaking to each other once.
Nonetheless, we had quite the electronic repor. I decided to take a dj course in the UK.
Something about turning-35-something-I-always-wanted-to-know-how-to-do and spending millenium eve over there with friends,
so off I went to study mixin'n'scratchin with a bunch of 19 yr. old boys with baggy trousers and puffa coats..
So since I was over there... Paul and I went out the third day I was there, and were seing each ot her seriously right away.
We spent NYE 2000 up in Scotland w/friends and then travelled on holiday to Morocco.
Happily married now for three years come June and living in the United States.
My husband Paul works for the State of Maryland now will be eligible for citizenship, if he wishes, in a couple of years.
Meanwhile, he's a permanent resident (Green Card holder) and we're planning on buying a house together this summer.

He went back to Pakistan but we kept in touch (cards, letters).
Last year I decided to quit my job and take an extended vacation.
He suggested that I come for a visit and see his family.
I went for a month and wound up staying for 3 months.
I came back to the US and started the Fiance Visa process.
We just received the approval from INS and now we are awaiting an interview at the US Consulate in Islamabad, Pakistan.

We met in the US and decided to live here. We try to visit our home countries every year.
We have been raising our son bilingual.
I (the Puerto Rican parent) talk to my son in Spanish and his comprehension is excellent.
His verbal skills in Spanish are not quite there, but he doesn't mind trying.
He can communicate with my family and usually responds in English with some Spanish mixed in.
My husband gave up talking Dutch with him after he turned two.
It was too hard to keep it up, since he doesn't spend as much time with him and we only see our Dutch side of the family once a year.

Due to the nature of my husband's job we have lived in several countries.

After months of emailing and horribly high phone bills, I flew to Texas for 9 days to meet Brandon.
It was practically love at first site. Once I flew home we knew we had to be back together.
So I moved here to Texas in July of 1999 and were married on September 17, 1999.

Die Eltern meiner Freundin setzten sie sehr unter Druck, wobei es mehr darum geht was andere,
sprich Verwanten, Freunde und Nachbarn darüber evtl. denken sollen oder könnten.
Ich muß dazu sagen das meine Freundin geschieden ist und eine dreijährige Tochter von ihrem Exmann hat.
Das daß eine Beziehung natürlich sehr belastet und negativ beeinflußt kann sich sicher jeder denken.
Im Moment wissen wir beide auch nicht mehr wie es weiter gehen soll,
da wir beide auch nicht möchten das sie sich von ihrer Familie lossagt oder mit ihr zerstreitet.....
also kommt dann letztendlich wirklich nur noch eins in Frage.....!!!!????
Wir lieben und verstehen uns beide sehr gut und ich möchte meine zwei Mädels einfach auch nicht mehr verlieren !!!

Boy ...It ain't easy.
I met Jie on the internet. I live in Spain now and I have visited my girlfriend in China last year.
We plan to marry in 2001 either in England or China and live in Spain
but I am at a loss with all the legal jargon of passports, exit visas, entry visas etc.
Is it better to marry in China or the U.K ?
At the moment my fiancee is trying to get a passport, which is not easy but expensive.
Can anybody give me advice? I would be grateful.....

We met in a chatroom on the day of the total solar eclipse
(August 11, 1999) because Thorsten had asked anyone if they had also seen the eclipse.
I had because the line of totality was across the south of England
and I promptly told him "I've seen it!" and the rest was, as they say, history.
We emailed each other every single night for eight months before Michelle came to Germany (Stuttgart) on the 15th May 2000.
She stayed with Thorsten for three months until the 15th August.
This really was the saddest day of our lives as we had to say goodbye to each other at the airport.
We continued to communicate with the Internet, the tool which had of course brought us together
and Michelle visited Thorsten for 10 days in October 2000.
He came to visit Michelle at the New Year where we spent a magical seven days in London
before heading towards Michelle's home town.
Thorsten visited again in February 2001 and Michelle will visit Thorsten for two weeks over Easter.
