We met February 2001.
Octavia had just returned from a military tour in Germany and returned back to California to finish her degree in Speech Communications.
A mutual friend (neighbor) introduced us and we have been together ever since.
It hasn't been difficult too much because of the cultural similarities that we share.
Richard has lived in the U.S.A for a some years now.
There's an age difference between us, but the problem seems to be with others and not ourselves.
People always say that in theory we sound like an odd match,
but all you have to do is spend 5 minutes with us and you see why we're together!!!
We are getting married March 30, 2002 in Long Beach, California. We plan to continue residing there.
Octavia is going to continue on to graduate school for Speech Pathology
and Richard does Technical Event coordination and theater lighting.
Life for us is very good and we are glad that we have a second chance at love!!

We met in Spain 5 years ago, and still living in Spain.
We haven't had any children yet, but are already working on possible arrangements for them to be bilingual.

We have a son now, he was born March 26, 2003.
His name is Leòn Mayer Lara - we took advantage of a new law in Spain
which allows parents to choose the surnames' order, so we chose for Leò to have his mother's first.
We also managed to have Italy accept this decision,
which wasn't easy and had to be settled in court - but we won!
So if any of you Italian-other European country couples out there have any problem
with Italy's law about surnames, be aware that the EC is on your side.
We'll be happy to give help to anyone interested. Leòn is bilingual (well, as far as we can see, he's only 1!),
we chose to speak Italian at home and Spanish outside...

However, we do have a huge issue with how to raise our future children.
Even though he is not really living a Muslim life, he is still very much a Muslim at heart.
Which is fine, but we are unable to resolve these issues that would allow us to start having a family.
I'm 32 and he is 39 and my clock is ticking loud!

We are going through the k1 visa nightmare and we have run ourselves into a small problem.
When we submited our i-129f petition we put down Calgary as the consulate that would issue the visa.
Well after being approved and waiting 2 months for all the paper work we were beggining to get worried about not making our deadline.
We went to the consulate and they told me that they do not issue the k1 visa in Calgary.
I was then told that the paper work would be forwarded to Montreal or Vancouver.
Well, we are still waiting to see. I have no idea what I should do.
I've tried to contact both consulates to see if they can help me and so far I have received no help whatsoever.
If anyone has any tips they can give me or if you know what I should do please email me asap.

Hello everyone! I am a Chinese, I first met my parner on the internet in 1999.

Tony & I first met around the first of the year in 2000.
His best friend for over 30 years is my friend and neighbor.
We went out as a group and we really enjoyed each other but he went back to Sweden after a few weeks.
In August of 2000 he returned to visit and we became good friends and just spent hours talking.
As I had two failed marriages (I was 16 years old when I got married the first time‘
I was very adamant about never having a man in my life again.
I really believed that is what God wanted.
Boy was I wrong! Two days before Tony was to go back to Sweden he let me know that he felt more for me than just friends,
and I had to acknowledge that I too felt the same.
A few weeks later he asked me to marry him. He arrived back in the US March 5, 2001 to visit and make wedding plans.
It was becoming a hassle so we just decided to get married before he went back. April 21, 2001 we were married.
And he automatically is a protected status with the INS therefore he was allowed to stay while we went through the whole immigration process.
Our process was fairly easy and pretty painless.
Between us we have 7 children.
I have five, boys - 25 and 13, and girls - 23, 16, and 15.
He has two girls - 12 and 13 1/2.
His family will finally be visiting us this summer so he will get to see his girls and mom!
I am trying to learn Swedish and we are hoping to visit Sweden this Christmas.

We just started as friends but later on developed into being more than special friends.
It is unavoidable for us to fall in love even though we know it was impossible because of the distance.
We never believed about the existence of a long distance relationship but we were not able to help it.
Love conquered all despite all the difficulties.
We had to change lots of plans, wait for a long time, face obstacles and the endless requirements for visa, documents, etc.
Now we are together for 8 months and married last December.
It is indeed a fruitful and blissful life for both of us.
We could never imagine that everything will work out.

My boyfriend is Philippino who lives in the US right now, but he does not have a greencard in the US.
We are very serious about getting married someday, but I don't have GC either.
I have no idea what we are going to do in our future.

Scott and I met online February 2001 on a video chat site.
It was a very short couple of weeks before we admitted we had fallen in love with each other.
May 4 of the same year he flew to Canada for us to meet for the first time.
The second we saw each other, we knew that was it...everything fell in place
and any doubts (never believed them but how can you not say "what if?" without meeting) disappeared.
He flew to Canada again in July and every month after.
Sometimes for only 4 day visits, and a couple of times we even got to enjoy 9 incredible days together.
September 2001 I flew to Connecticut to meet his parents.
Scott came to Canada December 26, 2001 for the final time.
I flew back with him December 31 and have been living together ever since.
We got married May 4, 2002 (the anniversary of our first meeting) and we have never felt so much happiness.
We are currently going through the immigration process.

Hi my name is Louis me and Pat have been together now for +- 7 months.
I am busy going through a divorce would have been 20 years in June 2002.
Pat has been in South Africa now for about 8 months we are expecting our first child ( I am going to be a father at 40 years of age).
We are very happy but there is a problem in communicating as she only speaks a bit of broken English
as for me I am not much better as the Thai language is not easy to understand or talk,
but I love their culture & ways.
Any help regarding inproving our communicating would be greatly appreciated.
