Dear friend,
Last week Jane was arrested for possession of cannabis. "Without my medicine I can not function, life has no meaning". This is a terrible situation that has been created solely due to the fact that Jane's pot is illegal. She has been fighting for the right to use cannabis as medicine, but her requests have been sadly turned down. Jane is not alone in her fight. there are millions of people dying for a toke each day. I am writing you this letter in hope that you will help Jane and the many people like her. A simple contribution to the Marijuana Party of Canada will help us in this urgent issue.
The Marijuana Party Policy is:
We ask you to please reach down into your heart and give. Any size contribution will help us in our goal of a free Canada. Prohibition is an infringement on the human rights and freedom of the people of our nation. It threatens an individual's security by limiting them to a criminal network for supply. It also undermines the possibility of promoting the concept of responsible use. A society that claims to be based on justice and law cannot tolerate these prohibitionist policies. Our policies would also help advance research on the positive effects of marijuana, and the legitimate medical applications. We recognize the urgent need of certian patients to have access to marijuana. However we believe current restrictions are directly caused by the prohibition of recreational marijuana. Your personal gift of funds will allow us to pursue the goals and missions of the Marijuana Party. We do acknowledge proper age limits that should be set to protect our youth from abusive consumption. We must also focus on developing objective measures to evaluate motor vehicle driver's sobriety without relying on chemical detection. Responsibile adult users do not drive while under the influence or while impaired. If you are interested in volunteering or becoming a member of the Marijuana Party we urge you to do so. Without people like you we can't exist as a political party. There are many advantages of using a political party as a common ground. This format makes it possible for many different points of view to converge around one common goal: putting an end to the injustice of canabis prohibition. Centering the program on cannabis is an effective way of generating much needed "political will" to change the marijuana laws. Our efforts in the province of Quebec made the Bloc Pot, a provincial party based on the same concept, one of the most popular non-mainstream parties. Since then the party has worked to solidify its base and push the marijuana issue to a larger audience. Our goal is to help this activism network to reform marijuana laws. Your gift will truly be appreciated and I know you will feel great for helping us fight for the cause. It is only with people like you that Canada's prohibition laws will come to a stop. We ask that you please reach down and help to put an end to this horrible injustice. The Marijuana Party |
