Firefly premiered on the FOX network on September 20, 2002. It was canceled after only eleven of the fourteen episodes were aired. Universal Pictures produced a film based on the series, titled Serenity, on September 30, 2005.

There's a lot of fans of the show in the Garage Kit hobby, and although the number of kits are few, we continue to see new ones each year.
