 Oct 31st - Nov 2nd, 2003 E. Rutherford, NJ
Now that I've had a few days to recoup from the show, wanted to share some acknowledgements and thank others!!
- Huge thanks to Kevin & Susan Clement, without whom we wouldn't be writting this!!! Harder working folks you'll never find! Love youse guys!!
- Big XOXOXO to the entire Hole In The Wall Gang! Ed & Sue Bowkley, Shemp & Chris, David & Mary Malin, Scotty 'eh' Mills, Bernie Clark and Jim 'I love Anime' O'Neil!
- Our thoughts and prayers were with our missing gang member, Alina Chu, who is in the middle of the never pleasant apartment move!! Arghhhhh!!! We missed ya, hon!!!! XOXOXOXO!
- Here's hoping Dave Wuethrich's better half dropped the 80lb load she's been carrying for well OVER 9 "...ever-loving *#$@%'ing, enuff-is-enuff-already months" now!!!
- Tip of the hat and mucho thanks to Bernie Clark, who got up to the Model Contest room early on Friday and had it ALL set up and ready to go BEFORE 11a.m.!!!
- To my good friend, John Diaz of JayCo Models!! (You know why, buddy, but you still shouldn't have!!) :)
- To Jim O'Neil... where DOES he get all these wonderful toys!!! (not to mention boring the majority of us with all his freaking MAC talk!!!)
Here's a few observations and memories of the show that will haunt me forevermore!!
- To David Skelley and his special 'honey & vinegar beef jerky!! Anything that makes Robb Rotondi sit on the ceramic throne for hours on end passing his kidneys, intestines, and spinal discs outta his arse, deserves special mention in my book!!
- To Michael W. Kaluta for being the 'salt of the earth' no matter how famous
you are!! To the time you showed my boys... to blinding the f&*@# outta us Saturday night with all your damn picture
taking! (But my oh my, they were fine looking heffers, weren't they!!?!!!!) :)
- To our beloved Uncle Zach who I had the honor of seeing live on stage celebrating his 85th birthday!! May you see 85 more years, you Class Act, you!!
- To that soft, big hearted pussy cat, Bowkley, who after all his gruff and chest puffing still caved in and gave assholio that *@! good-for-nothing-Lego-piece-of-sh@t GUNDAM kit!!! Damn you! He needs a REAL kit, you pile of maggot puss!!!
- The best eye popping new kit at the show that screamed, "BUY ME!" goes to AFM's King Kong piece!!! Simply beautiful, Terry!
- Honorable Mention Kits go to;
- Needful Things' 30" Frankenstein & Nosferatu pieces!
- Diceman Creations' The Ghost & Mr. Chicken
- Mad Labs King Kong Plaque
- ...and this doesn't take away from the many other fine eye-candy seen in the Dealer Rooms!!
- Funniest kit was a crumpled cloak with a light saber laying on top of it, labeled "Obi Wan Kenobi"!
- Who has any info on that really nice Superman & Lois kit that was on Sassy's table???
- We continue to get shivers and wake up in cold sweat thinking about those huge horns on the Devil head on Paul's Amok Time table!! Brrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!
- It was an honor and a special treat to see both Gary Lockwood & Keir Dullea from 2001: A Space Odyssey in the tent!! Wasn't aware they were on the guest list and was a pleasant surprise to spend some time with um and shake their hands!!
- Kevin McCarthy is still one of the kindest gentlemen in the world today!! Many new upstarts could take a lesson from this honorable actor!!
- Attack of the elevators Saturday night... to "da elevators aren't working & we're on the %&*#@ twentith freaking floor for crying out loud" scare on Sunday morning!!
- Spending a quiet hour with Phil Ceparano discussing the new addition to his back yard and the future home of his extensive Aurora Model collection!! Many photo's laying here on my desk to scan in and share with everyone!!
- Many thanks to EVERYONE I talked to during the 3 day Expo!! I'm not about to list um all becuz I'm bound to piss off those my feeble mind will forget to mention!! But without all the great modeling bro's and sisters this show would not be 1/3rd as fun!!
Everyone keep safe... stay outta trubs, and see ya all in April to do it all over again!!! -Buc
