"You mistake honesty for being boastful."

Garrett is the prince and heir of Kells' allied nation Reged, and his father and King Conchobar have been acquainted for many years. In fact, in order to establish an unbreakable union between both nations, the two kings made a pact that their heirs would marry, and unite the kingdoms. While Deirdre's marital fate was decided at her birth, she wasn't aware of her betrothal until Prince Garrett stepped into the palace, confident that he would meet his future wife and sweep her off her feet. Unbeknownst to him, his future in Kells included far more complications.

It occurred in one of Cathbad's visions that Garrett would be the fifth Mystic Knight, powered by the natural force of the Forest. Yet, in order to fulfill his destiny, Garrett had to overcome several obstacles. First and foremost, the young prince's haughty attitude instantly won him the dislike of the Mystic Knights, causing him to take his wounded pride and leave Kells without Deirdre. He unwittingly fell for one of Queen Maeve's traps, and was used by the villainess as her head warrior. Since his skills as a swordsman are truly amazing, he managed to best almost all the Knights in single armed combat. Fortunately, Cathbad's magic restored the prince to his former self, enabling him to go on a quest to Tir Na Nog to claim the Twin Timber Axes. In order to accomplish this mission, Garrett had to learn that it wasn't a sign of weakness to accept help from others. This was the first step to overcoming his arrogance, and becoming a trusted team player. As the Mystic Knight of Forest, Garrett battles with his Timber Axes, and uses them to call upon his powerful brown and gold armor by calling "Forest Before Me!"

In addition to his speed, agility, strength, and endless self-confidence, Prince Garrett brings with him another unparalleled ability, which has proved useful to the Mystic Knights on several occasions. Garrett has the ability to command any animal, either magical or natural, merely by locking eyes with it. His gaze sends the creature into a trance, which forces it to obey his will. This ability has enabled the Mystic Knights to avoid several head-on battles with powerful monsters, and save their resources for other fights.

Garrett's addition to the Mystic Knights was truly advantageous, but he remained in Kells for only a short time. During his time as the Mystic Knight of Forest, a foreign princess named Lynette happened upon the shores of Kells, in search of someone to assist in the destruction of a powerful monster. When she came to Kells, her ship and all its crew were lost when the monster attacked them at sea. As a consequence, she was completely alone when she arrived. Once the monster was defeated, it was determined that the princess shouldn't go alone to her country, since the distance was great and the journey perilous. All the Knights volunteered for the honor of escorting the princess home, but Garrett was selected, since he proposed that his worth still needed to be tested. Garrett went on this mission, and was absent from Kells for several months. Yet he returned at a pivotal moment, when the Mystic Knights were facing the powerful Lugad, and brought with him a powerful vehicle from Lynette's homeland: the Dragon Bow. The Dragon Bow was a gift from Lynette's father for the safe return of his beloved daughter, and it proved useful to the Knights in their struggle to defend Kells from Maeve's reinforced armies.
