"Summon the power of the elements and
behold your arsenal!"

Fin Varra is the powerful and respected ruler of the magical kingdom of Tir Na Nog. Throughout his long life, Fin Varra has accumulated a great deal of knowledge about magic and legend, and about life in general. The Mystic Knights take advantage of Fin Varra's vast intelligence, power, and wisdom by regularly seeking his guidance when faced with a seemingly impossible situation. Most often, Fin Varra answers the Knights' inquiries with riddles, forcing the heroes to discern the answers for themselves, and thereby become more independent. Despite the fact that the fairy king's riddles often vex the Knights, they value all the aid he has given them over their months of service as the defenders of both Kells as well as Tir Na Nog.

When Deirdre, Ivar, Rohan, and Angus first arrived at the fairy ring, and tumbled into Tir Na Nog, Fin Varra was ready to assist them in their mission to save Kells... provided they could give proof that they were destined to find Draganta. Once he saw Rohan's mark of destiny, the king proceeded to decree that it wasn't yet the time to find Draganta. Instead, the Knights must first prove themselves worthy of his assistance. Once the Knights demonstrated the qualities necessary for being Mystic Knights, Fin Varra told them about the legendary Mystic Armor that would shield them from Maeve's powerful magic, as well as the trials they would have to endure to earn them. Also, he granted each Knight his own powerful Mystic Weapon, each one forged by potent magical forces, and capable of harnessing one of the four primary elements of nature. The arsenal he gave the Knights, as well as the advice he continues to give them, has kept Kells from losing the war to Temra.

While Fin Varra is a wise and intelligent king, his love of gold and dances highlight a more light-hearted side of his personality. Unlike humans, who apparently take themselves too seriously, the fairy realm is much more eager to enjoy life... to sing, dance, and simply stop worrying about problems all the time. In addition, Fin Varra treasures gold above all else, and even puts himself in danger to obtain more. Still, his careless nature is a lesson for the Mystic Knights, never to take life too seriously. In his view, a life lived completely without fun isn't worth living... and he has lived long enough to know it.
