Cathbad is King Conchobar's right-hand druid, and trusted advisor. For an unknown amount of time, this aged sage has served the throne of Kells, offering wise advice, powerful potions, commanding visions, and magical solutions to what problems may arise. Cathbad is the individual who possessed a portion of the ancient scroll, and sent Rohan on the mission that ended with the assembly of the Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog.
Cathbad is an expert in the mixing of various powders to create magic potions. His darkened chamber has a wealth of herbs, potions, and spellbooks which enable the druid to serve his king and country to the utmost. Cathbad took the liberty of assigning Rohan, then a young orphan, to the role of being his apprentice. True to his word, Cathbad trained the boy in the magical arts, preparing him for whatever surprises Destiny may have in store for him. Cathbad looks upon Rohan with the protective affection of a father, and does his best to guide the young leader of the Mystic Knights whenever needed.
