Now clean up the engine so you can get it ready to install .
Once you have cleaned up the engine you must do the cradle
mod which is just a matter of drilling two hole in the locations marked on the diagram below.
these holes are necessary for the inside motor mount
Once you have drilled the holes clean and repaint the cradle .
with these steps completed we now return to the engine prep.
You now must remount the alternator bracket and mount the smaller
Fiero alternator the . If you do not have the mini GM alternator you
can get one from an 85 and up Grand Am 2.5 they have the proper
bolt pattern to fit the Caddy mount. Next where the air pump was
you must install the idler pulley . I will supply a diagram on how to
make it using the old idler . If you are not installing AC you will
need to put an idler in it's place . I will provide the diagram for this to.
this is where you cut the access hole though attach the inside mount 2" in diameter
this is where you drill the 5/8 hole for the inside mount
in this view this is the torque strap for the inside mount
For those of you who are running standard tranaxles this is the modified 3.1,2.8 flywheel it is plugged and redrilled
and center bushed to fit the caddy engine. This can be done at any local machine shop for a few dollars (90
