Do some parents honestly know or care where their children are playing and what they are doing? I'm telling you if my kids did what these kids did to Paul and I the other day off 147 in Northumberland, PA. I'd of flipped out.

Had some smart allic kid jump in front of the truck from the north side of the road, (we are going south) he took his good ole' time crossing the two land road and lagged once he was in front of Paul. He stood there and pretty much dared Paul to hit him. Once Paul had down shifted and got it slowed down to almost a complete stop, this kid then jogged to the curb and stood there laughing with his buddies who were waiting for him on the south side of the road.

Paul stopped the truck and I told that kid, "you listen here!" I'm yelling right now, but let me tell you this kid, the next time you do that to any driver I hope they jump out of the truck and they pound you into the pavement. His face went straight and he was shaking. I was so mad that someone would even think this was fun. Did it bother me? Not near as much as it would have had we hit him.

Paul kept telling me to get back in the truck before the cops come. I told him let the cops come because we'll tell the officer why we are stopped ..... this snotty nosed brat stood in the road waiting for us to get closer and we could have hit him. There were people on their porches and a lot of traffic on the road that afternoon, so let the cops come.

Paul hit the breaks! Thank goodness it's only 25 m.p.h. through there because we didn't know what this boys game was and we were going slow enough had anything happen hopefully the damages wouldn't be real serious .... it was a just game of chicken is what it was. His is buddies hauled butt when we stopped that truck. They were not hanging around to see what happened next *smile* I could not believe that someone would do this just for fun. It was my impression this kid had been doing this for a while out there and then we came along.

What a dangerous game to be playing .... he waited until we were a car length away, if that, before he ran back to the curb. I swear I wanted to smack that kid. Couldn't help it. I'm a mom and if my kids ever did something like this to any driver, truck or car, they'd know not to ever do it again that's for sure.
