I first wrote this page in 1996 for my Truckinsassy pages.

I am adding it again to these pages. I need to update my graphics.

Welcome To Brigette's Truckers, Family & Friends Pages,

Truckers, Their Spouses, Children, Grand Children, Their Families and All families outside of the trucking industry are special and important. Each is unique and special in their own way. No one is better than the other. Fact is you need the truckers and the truckers need you! It's that simplae. It's that serious!

It is my hope that I can some how use these pages to help the general public understand truck drivers and trucking. That I can maybe bring us all together to share our thoughts and feelings. I believe there is a way for us all to unite and get along. To be friends. First we need to know what is happening to our country. We need a better understanding of just how important trucks are to all of us!

We all need to have a better understanding of what truck drivers see and face each and everyday. Truck drivers are familure with what it is like to be behind the wheel of a car, but there is problem because most people who drive cars or pick-up's have no clue at all what it is like being inside or driving a truck.

We are all connected in some way or another believe it or not. We all have the same blood? Sure do! it flows through all our veins in one form or another making us all related and connected in some way to the industry of trucking. When people attack or get angry with a truck driver, they are attacking the drivers, their spouses and children. There is no reason to attack each other because the blood we share friends is called "Truckers Blood", That unites us! All of us ... not just the truck driver and his/her family.

Yes even the general public is connected because without our Truck Drivers ... America Stops! You have nothing. Ok maybe some things, but not near what we are all use to. People don't realize how much their lives and life styles depend on trucks and truck drivers. Hopefully the general public will not have to see how important truck drivers and trucks are when there are no trucks to bring the goods we all need and use. It would not take very long for the stores to run out of food, there would be no clothing except what is already stocked in the stores, new cars won't arrive to dealerships, baby needs, medical supplies, snow blowers, shovels, hoses, fuel, gas, beds, stoves, refrig., toys, milk (yep ... milk comes in tanker trucks), stereos, televisions, farm equipment and machinery etc. Why? Because everything in this country moves by truck. Not only in this country, but countries around the world.

Those little store trucks that bring it to your home are not the ones to originally get it to where it was going. It got there by the Big Truck first! Then the little truck brought it to you, your home, your office.

If your spouse, father, mother, brother, sister etc. work in a warehouse, or any where within the transportation of goods, then they are connected with the trucking industry. If no trucks are delivering to the warehouses, stores etc. then there would be no jobs for your family members to do. They would be out of a job. Without trucks, car dealerships would not be able to fill their lots because those cars, pickups etc. arrive there by truck. So unless dealerships could find another way to transport those autos, the dealers would be out of a job. Grocery stores with little or no food would not need as many employees and would have to lay employees off. Trucks are a very big part of our everyday lives.

The reason the general public does not care about truck drivers or trucks is because they are listening to and reading all the horror and truck bashing stories on television, and in newspapers. We need to find some way to educated and help the public understand about the trucking industry, the drivers and their families.

For each of you who bash us you never once sit back and say to yourself, "Wow it is because of him/her that I have what I do." You know what they say? Don't bite the hands that feed you. Sure you can laugh. Fine sit there and laugh. But if the truckers shut down, you won't be laughing for long.

You all need to pay close attention and JOIN US! This involves each and everyone of you what is happening to this country. OUR COUNTRY!

Truckers would love nothing more then to have you all gather with them to help you all understand how they (the people) in many cases put themselves in harms way and how you can help prevent some of the things that happen. One way is, people just need to be a little more patient with the big machines. I feel this would help in cutting down the risks, dangers and deaths on our highways.

I feel it would be of interest to the general public to know that a lot (some not all) of what is happening out there is not all the truck drivers fault or choice. There are times when the truck drivers hands are tied behind their backs and they have to do, what he/she has to do because someone over them tells them what to do. I think it would interest the general public to know that their lives are put in danger because of foolish choices others make. Foolish choices that might surprise them. Might even surprise them who the people are that make these choices.

If the general public would just take a few minutes to sit down to listen to us and hear our sides, they'd see we are not all bad, that we pretty much all have a lot in common. That the truck driver is not their enemy. They need to stop listening to all the negative that is being said about the truck driver through the media, press and other sources.

The general public is not aware that the truck driver and his/her family have been trying for years to tell their side. To tell the truth. For some odd reason that is not allowed. Why? Because there are people out there who do not wish for the general public to hear the other side. To hear the truth. There is some kind of thrill in keeping the general public in fear of the truck driver. Why is it only the negative is what the general public hears? I personally feel it helps to keep the general public on the wrong side so that all these insane choices, laws and regulations can be made.

At the moment we are all we have truckers and families. I believe we can change this if the general public is aware of what is taking place out there. I believe we can all come together and unite both on the highways and in our everyday lives.

I have personally seen enough discrimination and slander towards truck drivers to last me a life time. I have seen them taken advantage of and used more then I care to. I feel it's time and long over due to educate people about trucking and all that is involved. It's time to put a stop Highway Robbery, discrimination, Slander, Abuse (by everyone including our own government), Harassment and all the Truck/Trucker Bashing! and above all to remove this fear people have of truck drivers.

If people had to experience for one week what "Truck Drivers" experience every single day they would appreciate and understand the people we call "Truck Drivers". I will cover a lot of ground on these pages about the truck driver, trucking industry and what his or her family cope with. What it is like to drive day after day on our highways. It is my hope to get the attention of the General Public. To help them understand what they do not know... what they do not have a clue about. It will probably seem like all I do is complain a lot, but that is not my intention. No... my intention is to share with others what drivers see and deal with each and everyday out there. Just the facts ... Just the truth. Maybe one day our truck drivers will get a chance to be in the spotlight to tell the other side of this business.

I am in no way making excuses for the bad truck drivers. There truly are some really bad drivers out there. We need to all pull together to clean up our highways and remove not only bad truck drivers, but bad drivers period. Road Rage is uncalled for. Sure we all (those in trucks and cars alike) get frustrated and flustered, but that is no reason to attack another human being with your vehical or a weapon. We need to take a deep breath and count to ten and calm down. All of us!!!

There really are some very good truck drivers out there on the roads. They're caring, sincere and they really do care what is happening ... not only to themselves, but they care what is happening to you as a driver on the road also. If you really feel that a driver has treated you badly on the road or is driving dangerously don't take matters into your own hands. There is no reason for name calling over C.B. radios, or running bumper to bumper, throwing high beams on them, laying on your horns and throwing signs at them to get even ... take numbers down and report these bad drivers (those in cars and trucks alike). They will be dealt with. But above all make sure before you make that phone call that you find out or determine if the incident was intentional or accidental. This is a mans/womans job, it is how he/she feeds his/her family and pay their bills. We all make driving mistakes (honest driving mistakes) and we need to know the difference.

Just because a driver was passing you and crossed the line, or you were passing them and they crossed the line does not mean they were purposely trying to run you off the road or hit you. It sometimes happens. The roads shift us around, the winds push us, and potholes throw those big trucks all over the place. We have to look at the whole picture and the surroundings before we call it bad driving.

I think we can all work together and get the bad off the roads and make them all a safer place for everyone to drive and get along. People need to visit the Rest Area pages and learn more about driver fatigue not only where truck drivers are concerned, but you as a traveler and your family as well are concerned.

Feel free to the message board to share your views and comments. You will find links on my pages to the message boards. Share your stories and thoughts with us. Be polite. You can make your point without cussing and slandering others. If you can't do that then DO NOT comment! WARNING! There is alot of writing and story telling on my pages about things I've seen, witnessed and experienced myself. So happy reading! I would also very much like to hear from those people of four wheelers (cars) who would like to share their stories as well. After all if we share our thoughts and see it from both sides maybe we can unite and get along on the highways. Wouldn't that be great?

My opinion "The Trucker is still the Highway Hero" not the villain as many would like to think. If you are ever in doubt or have a question about truck drivers don't hesitate to write and ask. Or ask a truck driver when you see one. If I don't know the answer I will find someone who can answer your question.
