What a hassel really. We got home early this morning (Saturday). Went to a warehouse in CT. (C &S )and what a joke that was. Had an appointment time, we were one hour early, they told us they couldn't get us in until later that afternoon, but if we wanted to pay a lumper they could take us now. Well it cost $100 for the lumper just to break down a few layers off the top on the skids (3 guys worked on it) it still took us 4 hours to get unloaded can you believe? Was not a good place for me to be at all. Told Paul it's probably better to leave me at home because I wanted to rip heads off yesterday for sure.
Everything was making me mad and frustrated. Company said there is no way their trucks will be going back there if this continued. Seems one driver from the company paid $60 for a lumper, the next day another had to pay $80 and then Paul had to pay $100. What a scam that is huh?
Our appointment was 9:00 a.m. said they'd get us in around 2:00-3:00 p.m., so company authorized lumper because we had a pick up before 3:00 p.m. or head home empty. Hired lumper got backed right in. Now figure that out? Why make any appointments at all? There were 43 trucks sitting there waiting to get unloaded, when we got done 4 hours later most of those same trucks were still sitting there. I was smokin mad and told Paul get me out of there before my cork popped ...
From there we went down the road and loaded used batteries to be delivered in Reading, PA.. All places should load like these people did. We backed in and zip zip zip, we were loaded within 20 minutes. They were quick at loading. Paul wasn't required to stand back there while they loaded or anything. It was really nice to be takin in and loaded so quick. Everyone there was really nice to.
We were ready to truck back to PA. finally we were getting out of CT. and we were not at all unhappy about that in anyway.
Whoops ...... we got stuck in CT. traffic for 3 hours. We sat in traffic for so long, I felt like I knew everyone in their four wheelers and trucks out there. We'd move ahead of them, then they'd move ahead of us. Before you knew it we were all waving at each other like we were all ole' buddies or something. Blowing the horns at each other and sharing friendly smiles. It really was all that got us through that back up without pulling our hair out.
After we got out of that traffic jam, the truck over heated and buzzards were going off every where you can think of in that truck (not really it just sounded that way) next thing we know the truck instantly shuts down on us. Paul had to do a by pass on something or another so we could get it started and make it to the truck stop to get water. Found a broken hose and had to replace that. I'm telling ya he has had no trouble with this truck at all, then I go along and it seemed like everything that could go wrong went wrong. I'm so glad to be home.
I got a new guestbook because the server kept going down on the other one.
