The Croxford's originate in Sydenham, Lewknor and Aston Rowant in Oxfordshire back into the early 1600's.
My line comes through William bpt 30 January 1709/10 (son of John a Blacksmith) in Aston Rowant and married Elizabeth East in 1739.
Their son William bpt in Aston Rowant in 1741 married Mary House in 1768 and later Susannah Humphreys in 1781, they had 13 children all born in Upton Cum Chalvey. Mary died in 1776 and Susannah in1816 with William buried in Upton Cum Chalvey BKM in 1818.
The line continues through William bpt in 1797 Upton Cum Chalvey, who married Mary Ann Mosely in Mortlake SRY in 1823. Their children were Charles 1823 Mortlake, the others were born in Eton Wick, Ann 1824, Susanne 1825, Edward 1827, Susanna 1827, Sarah 1829, James 1834, Anne 1837, Mary 1838, Harriet 1843 and George 1832 who married Sarah Middleton in 1855.
George and Sarah had 13 children among them George 1855 who married Annie Hart, Annie Susan who emigrated to Australia on her own age 16 and married Thom Rider from Devon in Townsville and my Great Grandfather was Robert Thomas Croxford born 1862 in Eton who married Mary Beard in 1883 London. Mary was born in Gloucester 1852 but have not found her family.
From a labourer Robert Thomas became a Master Builder and built and lived in Buchannan Gardens NW London. They had two children, Horace 1886 who married Nellie Maria Phillips in 1915 in WIL, and Dilys Mary 1884 who was my Grandmother and married Charles Lewis Blakeway.
