HOW TO INSTALL AND REMOVE STAKE POCKET VERTICAL BRACKET

Installation is a series of steps, quick and simple.

Remove the top plate along with the uprights and lay aside

  1. Loosen the four outside button head bolts but only 1/4 to 1/2 turn,  don't need much.  (these bolts have to be loose so the side wedges can move)   Adjust the bracket to it's smallest size.  If the bracket is to large for the stake hole, then remove the expansion plate attached to the wedge.  The plate is required for the new extra-large trucks made today and is not required on most trucks.

  1. Pick the hole you want and direction to face ( inboard or out) and start tightening the center screw.  As the mount starts to tighten, wiggle the mount around so it will settle into the shape of the stake hole.  Continue tightening until satisfied.     As you tighten all of the pressure is contained in the base plate.  There is no downward  pressure onto the truck bed at all.

  1. Tighten down the four outside bolts to totally secure the top plate.  After the bolts are tight, grab hold of plate and give one last hard shake. If anything moves, tighten the center bolt some more.  It will not be necessary to loosen the outside bolts at this point, but instead check that they are still tight after tightening the center.

  1.   Install the antenna mount and cable connections onto the top plate and then

re-fasten onto the base plate with the uprights.

Removal is just as easy but requires a hammer or something like it.

Remove your antenna and remove the top plate along with the uprights.

  1. Loosen the four outside bolts but only 1/2 turn, don't need much.

  1. Unscrew the center screw until it sticks up about 3/4 of an inch or so.    Tap on the screw until it goes down with however much force it takes, which in most cases has proven to be not that much.

3.  The bracket will lift straight up and out of the hole with no problem.  If still

tight simply loosen the center screw more to make the bracket smaller.

Special instructions:

If you look at the side wedges of the bracket you will see that one of the wedges has rounded corners.  On a lot of trucks the wall of the stake hole has  Rounded corners for the wall to the inside of the bed.  If you turn the bracket So that the antenna sits inside the truck, it may be necessary to swap The side wedges around so as to match these corners.  This will be true For only some trucks and not all.

Also if for some reason it was needed,  ( bed liner, etc. ) , the base plate can be as much as 1/2 inch above the truck bed and still work.
